        RFID 시스템에서 다중 태그 인식을 위한 하이브리드 충돌방지 알고리즘의 개선 및 성능 분석

        The anti-collision algorithms to identify a number of tags in real-time in RFID systems are divided into the anti-collision algorithms based on the Framed slotted ALOHA that randomly select multiple slots to identify the tags, and the anti-collision algorithms based on the Tree-based algorithm that repeat the questions and answer process to identify the tags. In the hybrid algorithm which is combined the advantages of these algorithms, tags are distributed over the frames by selecting one frame among them and then identified by using the Query tree frame by frame. In this hybrid algorithm, however, the time of identifying all tags may increase if many tags are concentrated in a few frames. In this study, to improve the performance of the hybrid algorithm, we suggest an improved algorithm that the tags select a specific group of frames based on the earlier bits of the tag ID so that the tags are distribute equally over the frames. By using the simulation and mathematical analysis, we show that the suggested algorithm outperforms traditional hybrid algorithm from the viewpoint of the number of queries per frame and the time of identifying all tags.

        한우 선발형질로써 초음파 형질의 활용방안 연구

        Hanwoo young bulls are selected based on performance test using the weight at 12 months and pedigree index comprising marbling score. Pedigree index was not based on the progeny tested data but the breeding value of the proven bulls; resulting a lower accuracy. The progeny testing of the young bulls was categorized into testing at farm and at the test station. The farm tested data was difficult to compare with those from test station data. Farm tested bulls had different slaughter ages than those for test station bulls. Therefore, this study had considered a different age at slaughter for respective records on ultrasound traits. Records on body weight at 12 months, ultrasound measures at 12 and 24 months(uIMF, uEMA, uBFT, and uRFT), and carcass traits(CWT, EMA, BFT, and MS) were collected from steers and bulls of Hanwoo national improvement scheme between 2008 and 2013. Fixed effects of batch, test date, test station, personnel for measurement, personnel for judging, and a linear covariate of weight at measurement were fitted in the animal models for ultrasound traits. The ranges of heritability estimates of the ultrasound traits at 12 and 24 months were 0.21-0.43 and 0.32-0.47, respectively. Ultrasound traits at 12 and 24 months between similar carcass traits was genetically correlated at 0.52-0.75 and 0.86-0.89, respectively.

        Genome-wide association study for ethological traits of purebred Landrace and Yorkshire populations

        Some behaviors of pigs that are not expressed in the wild state or are observed in a small minority of individuals after groups of pigs are mixed have been reported to indicate poor welfare. A GWAS analysis was performed by measuring the frequency and duration of the four ethological traits and using the mlma command provided by the genome-wide complex trait analysis (GCTA). The positional candidate genes on significantly identified single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) markers were identified by using the dbSNP provided by the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI). When the GWAS analysis was applied the 43,565 (of the purebred Landrace population) and 41,700 (of the purebred Yorkshire population) SNP markers, 1, 2, and 1 significant SNP markers were identified for the traits of feeding frequency (LOC110262254), locomotion time (LOC110260361), and locomotion frequency (LOC110260361) of the purebred Landrace population, respectively. Meanwhile, 1 and 7 significant SNP markers were identified for the traits of drinking time (LOC110260090) and feeding frequency (MAP3K19; LOC110257013; ACMSD; TMEM163; RAB3GAP1) of the purebred Yorkshire population, respectively. The results of this study may suggest that the GWAS analysis of the ethological traits of purebred Landrace and Yorkshire populations could be used to perform a GWAS analysis on non-economic traits, and the results can thus be provided as basic data for GWAS analyses of other non-economic traits in the future.

        Analysis of environment effects on the carcass traits Hanwoo cows using ultrasonic measurement

        Hanwoo is an important livestock resource in Korea. Its genetic improvements of economic traits have mainly focused on the steers in the past. However, there is a great necessity to extend the breed improvement programs to the cows as well. Therefore, the objective of this study was to investigate the effects of various environmental factors (person taking the measurement, region, year of measurement, month of measurement, image interpreter, birth-year and birth-year) on ultrasound measured carcass traits. A total of 27,215 ultrasound measurements of carcass traits were recorded between 2004 and 2012 for 22,620 cows born from 1997 to 2011. The ultrasound measures included backfat thickness (BFT), eye muscle area (EMA), and marbling score (MAR). The mean values for the BFT, EMA and MAR were 4.46 mm, 56.24 cm2, and 4.12 point, respectively. Seven environmental factors, person taking the measurement, region, year of measurement, month of measurement, image interpreter, birth-year and birth-month, were tested to determine if they had a significant effect on the studied traits using the GLM procedure in SAS. All factors were found to significantly affect all the ultrasound carcass traits in this study. Unlike in previous studies, among the environmental effects, the significant effect of the image interpreter on the ultrasound carcass traits was shown for the first time in this study. These results indicate that future genetic evaluations of ultrasound carcass traits of Hanwoo cows should include all of the above environmental factors as well as the effect from people taking the measurements.

      • RFID 시스템에서 다중 태그 인식을 위한 하이브리드 충돌방지 알고리즘의 개선 및 성능 분석

        RFID 시스템에서 다수의 태그를 실시간으로 인식하기 위한 충돌방지 알고리즘은, 크게 태그들이 여러 슬롯을 랜덤하게 선택하도록 하여 태그를 인식하는 Framed Slotted ALOHA 기반의 충돌방지 알고리즘과 질의 응답과정을 반복하여 태그를 인식하는 Tree 기반의 충돌방지 알고리즘으로 나뉜다. 이 두 가지 알고리즘의 장점을 결합한 하이브리드 알고리즘에서는, 각각의 태그가 여러 프레임 중 하나를 선택하도록 하여 태그를 분산시킨 후 각 프레임별로 쿼리트리 방법을 사용하여 태그를 인식한다. 그러나 이러한 하이브리드 알고리즘에서는 여러 태그가 몇몇 프레임에 집중되어 해당 프레임의 태그 인식시간이 길어지는 경우가 종종 발생할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 기존 하이브리드 알고리즘의 성능을 개선하기 위하여, 태그 ID 앞부분의 비트 값에 따라 특정 그룹의 프레임을 선택하도록 유도함으로써 모든 프레임에 태그가 골고루 분산되도록 하는 방법을 제안하고 그 성능을 분석하였다. 시뮬레이션 및 해석적 방법을 이용하여 성능을 분석한 결과, 제안하는 방법이 기존의 방법에 비하여 프레임당 쿼리 수를 감소시켜 줌으로써 모든 태그를 인식하는 데에 소요되는 시간을 감소시키는 것을 확인할 수 있었다.

        Growth Curves Fitting for Body Weight and Backfat Thickness of Swine by Sex

        The purpose of this study was to establish proper shipping weight and backfat thickness by applying the growth model to backfat thickness, measured by means of not only body weight, but also ultrasonography, and predicting the changes by age. Three breeds, i.e. Duroc, Landrace, and Yorkshie, were analyzed, and the Gompertz, logistic, and Von Bertalanffy model were used for inference with the parameter of the growth model being sex. As a result, both body weight and backfat thickness showed different growth curve parameters and characteristics at inflection points depending on model selection and sex. As for backfat thickness, in estimating the inflection point, unlike the case of body weight, the inflection ages of the boars of the Duroc breed was earlier than that of sows, whereas the inflection ages of the sows of the Landrace and Yorkshire breeds was earlier than that of boars. More than anything else, in the analysis of the changes in backfat thickness according to body weight, as the body weight reached 145kg, the backfat thickness showed much variation as great as 1.7-3.2 cm in each breed and sex. In addition, unlike the other breeds, the boars of the Landrace breed showed an exponential type of relationship between body weight and backfat thickness. As they grow to become 100 kg or heavier, abrupt change in back fat thickness was confirmed. If the growth of body weight and backfat thickness is understood and the genetic relationship is taken advantage of like this, it would be possible to set desired body weight and backfat thickness, and thus help effectively set the shipping time. If not only the phenotype, but also genetic parameters about growth characteristics are estimated and analyzed additionally, more effective data can be generated.
