Efficacy and safety of antiplatelet-combination therapy after drug-eluting stent implantation

Background/Aims: Combination single-pill therapy can improve cost-effectivenessin a typical medical therapy. However, there is a little evidence about theefficacy and tolerability of combination single-pill antiplatelet therapy after percutaneouscoronary intervention (PCI) with drug-eluting stents (DES). Methods: From June to November 2012, in total, 142 patients who met the followingcriteria were enrolled: at least 18 years old; successful PCI with DES at least 3months earlier; and regular medication of aspirin and clopidogrel with no sideeffects. After VerifyNow P2Y12 and aspirin assays, the combination single pill ofaspirin and clopidogrel was given and laboratory tests were repeated 6 weeks later. Results: At baseline, the incidence of aspirin resistance, defined as aspirin reactionunit (ARU) ≥ 550, was 9.2%, that of clopidogrel resistance, defined as P2Y12reaction unit (PRU) ≥ 230, was 46.5%, and that of percent inhibition of PRU <20% was 32.4%. At follow-up, the incidence of resistance by ARU value was 7.0%,50.0% by PRU value, and 35.9% by percentage inhibition of PRU, respectively. Themean values of ARU (431.5 ± 63.6 vs. 439.8 ± 55.2; p = 0.216) and PRU (227.5 ± 71.4vs. 223.3 ± 76.0; p = 0.350) were not significantly different before versus after antiplatelet-combination single-pill therapy. Five adverse events (3.5%) were observedduring the study period. Conclusions: Combination single-pill antiplatelet therapy, which may reduce dailypill burden for patients after PCI with DES, demonstrated similar efficacy toseparate dual-pill antiplatelet therapy.

The Purpose of this study is to analyze how brand image are expressed and interpreted by the colors of Logo gas station. Recently driver's increasing interest in oil customer's gas station selection is being made more prudently. In the past consumer's gas station selection was determined simply by the location of the station but since the 1990s oil companies have executed brand marketing, consequently it is presumed that consumer's brand selection behaviors have been diversified. The results of analysis are as following. Firstly, Five franchises of Four brand the image which is dynamic and in order to emphasize a brand by characteristic applies each other different color. Secondly, if seeing the result of color taken up the facade to excepts the expression which leads a color and there is not a differentiation strategy. The results of this study an the brand color used in gas station are expected to indicate the present color situation in the urban landscape in the urban street.

The present study was conducted to compare the growth performance, carcass characteristics, and meat quality of the egg-type male growing chicken (EM), white-mini broiler (WB), and commercial broiler (Ross 308, CB). A total of 360 1-d-oldchicks were reared together using a completely randomized design with 4 replicates for each group under the identical feed-ing and rearing conditions. The ADG and gain:feed were the highest in CB, intermediate in WB, and the lowest in EM (p<0.05), and the live and carcass weights of CB and EM were significantly higher than those of WB (p<0.05). The pH of breastmeat from WB and CB was significantly higher (p<0.05) than that from EM with a similar body weight. The EM had thelowest moisture (p<0.05) and the highest protein content (p<0.05), whereas the fat and ash contents were not different amonggroups. The mystiric acid (C14:0), palmitoleic acid (C16:1 ω7), and oleic acid (C18:1 ω9) levels were significantly higherin breast meat from CB (p<0.05). The monounsaturated fatty acid (MUFA) content showed the highest (p<0.05) levels in CB. In contrast, the polyunsaturated fatty acid (PUFA) contents of breast meat, including linoleic acid (C18:2 ω6) and arachi-donic acid (C20:4 ω6), were higher (p<0.05) in EM and WB than in CB. In conclusion, the EM and WB had less growthperformances in comparison with CB, but they each had some unique features (taste, flavor, and physiological characteris-tics) when raised under the identical rearing and feeding conditions.

New monomers, possessing various alkyl substituents on propylene dioxypyrrole, were synthesized. The monomers could be easily polymerized to produce highly conductive and soluble polymers. The corresponding polymers showed excellent solubility, retaining electrochemical and optical properties of their parent polymer [poly(propylene dioxypyrrole)]. The conductivities of chemically prepared polymers were quite high in a range of 20 and 60 Scm−1. Solubility of the polymer in a common organic solvent was as high as no polymer is deposited on an electrode. The redox potentials of the electrochemically prepared polymers revealed quite stable electroactivity during repeated redox switching up to 500 times. The optoelectrochemistry studies also showed distinct color changes of the polymers upon changing the doping state, indicating strong absorption peaks at 400~600 nm in reduced states and complete bleaching in fully oxidized states.
