In a mercury leaching test for waste using the Korean Standard Method (ES 06404.1), the pre-treatment process of aneluate is very complicated with a high possibility of contamination and low mercury recovery rate. It is also difficult toanalyze multiple samples in a short time and the process generates experimental wastes. Accordingly, a direct mercuryanalyzer (DMA) applying thermal decomposition gold-amalgamation analysis has been recently used. The method showsa relatively high recovery rate for solid samples without complicated pre-treatment and it can be applied to both liquidand solid samples as the EPA method 7473 does. In order to use the auto-sampler in DMA for analyzing many elutionsamples from waste, this study checked recovery rates depending on acid solutions and additives during continuousanalysis. The result showed a significant drop in recovery and precision except for an L-cysteine added sample. Considering commonly used acid-treatment of wastes, three types of acid solutions (nitrate, hydrochloric acid and sulfate)were chosen for analysis, and precision and accuracy were relatively high in nitric acid solution. It has been determinedthat accuracy and precision improved when 0.01% L-cysteine was added as an additive and this reduced the impact ofcontinuous measurement. Therefore, during analysis of liquid samples or eluted samples using DMA continuously,introducing suitable additives is necessary depending on pre-treatment method in order to improve accuracy and precisionin the analysis of mercury.

Recently, the explosion of powder fire extinguisher led to the replacement of old extinguishers with new ones in Korea. As a result, the amount of waste fire extinguishing agents from discarded fire extinguishers has been increasing. In this study, to determine the recyclability of the fire extinguishing agents, content and leaching test were conducted to identify their health hazards in accordance with the Korean standard method for waste and soil. To this end, nine powders in four new products and five discarded products were sampled from five companies. Analysis of discarded powder of fire extinguishers showed that levels of heavy metals (Pb, Cd, Cr6+,Cr, Hg, Cu, Ni, As, Zn), organic phosphorus, oil, TCE, and PCE were within the levels set out in the Wastes Control Act, the Fertilizer Control Act and the Soil Environment Conservation Act. Only arsenic level in some new and discarded powder of fire extinguisher samples exceeded the acceptable levels as set forth in the Wastes Control Act (1.5 mg/L) and the Soil Environment Conservation Act (25 mg/ kg) but within the acceptable arsenic level of 45 mg/kg as set forth in the Fertilizer Control Act. Concentrations of arsenic in the samples ranged from 0.039 to 2.578 mg/L, 6.72 to 38.36 mg/kg. The most commonly used chemical for ABC dry chemical extinguisher is mono-ammonium phosphate, which generally contains up to 0.005% of arsenic and be used as fertilizer. The result confirmed that powder of fire extinguishers could be recycled as fire extinguisher powder or fertilizer as practiced in Japan, USA and UK. But it is necessary to pretreat and meet the regulation of fire extinguisher and fertilizer
맞춤형 이용자교육에 관한 대학도서관 사서들의 인식 조사

The purpose of this study was to investigate the librarians’ perceptions of the customized bibliographic instructions (CBI) at four-year academic libraries in Korea. The study also examined instruction librarians’ perceptions of the obstacles and the factors associated with the effective adoption and delivery of the CBI. This study conducted both a survey research method and an in depth-interview. The findings of the study revealed the librarians’ perception of the obstacles and facilitators in adopting and operating the CBI, which suggests useful strategies to apply in delivering the CBI in academic libraries. 본 연구의 목적은 맞춤형 이용자교육을 시행하고 있는 국내 대학도서관의 맞춤형 이용자교육담당 사서들의 인식을 조사하는 것이다. 맞춤형 이용자교육을 제공해 본 경험이 있는 8명의 사서를 대상으로 일차적으로 심층면담하고, 그들의 응답과 문헌조사를 토대로 설문지를 개발하여 해당 교육을 제공해 본 전국 94개 대학도서관의 사서 94명을 대상으로 설문조사하였다. 연구결과, 응답자 대부분이 맞춤형 이용자교육에 대해 긍정적으로 인식하는 가운데, 교육 운영에서 교수진과의 협력을 가장 중요하다고 여기는 것으로 나타났다. 또 맞춤형 교육사서에게 필요한 것으로 석사학위나 주제지식보다 교육에 대한 의지나 봉사정신 등 태도적 측면을 더 중요한 것으로 인식하고 있었으며, 담당인력 부족을 교육 운영의 가장 큰 어려움으로 파악하고 있었다. 본 연구결과는 현장에서 맞춤형 이용자교육을 확대, 제공하는데 활용할 수 있을 것이다.

The purposes of this study are to examine the adolescents' consumer knowledge and consumption behavior and analyze the factors affecting them. The sample of this study is 640 middle school students living in kyunggi province. The data are collected using structured questionnaires and analyzed by the descriptive statistics, t-test, One-way ANOVA and multiple regression analysis. The results of this study are as follows.First, the third grade students and the female students get higher scores in the consumer knowledge compared with the first grade and the male students. Other factors affecting the level of consumer knowledge are occupation of parents, education level of mother, household income and GPA. Second, the consumption behavior of students is moderately resonable and affected by sex and grade of students, education level of mother, household income, and GPA. Third, the adolescent's consumer knowledge affects their consumption behavior. The results of multiple regression analysis show that 4% to 9% of variances of sub categories of the consumption behavior are explained by the level of consumer knowledge. Since the consumer knowledge learned at schools is rarely transferred to the reasonable consumption behavior, the systematic and relevant consumer education considering the development stages of adolescents is required in the future. 본 연구는 청소년의 소비자지식 수준과 소비행태를 조사하고 두 변인에 영향을 미치는 변인을 분석하고자 경기도 소재 중학교 학생 640명을 대상으로 질문지 조사를 하였다. 청소년의 소비자교육내용을 5개의 범주(일반경제지식, 금전관리, 구매, 컨슈머리즘, 자원의 활용)로 유형화하고, 이에 기준하여 소비자 지식과 소비행태를 측정하였다. 소비자지식 수준을 분석한 결과, 1학년에 비해 3학년이, 남학생보다는 여학생의 소비자지식 수준이 높았으며 부모의 직업, 모의 학력, 가계소득, 학업성적에 따라 유의한 차이를 보였다. 소비행태를 살펴보면 청소년들은 비교적 합리적이지 못한 소비생활을 하고 있었고, 용돈기입장을 작성하지 않거나 환경보전을 위한 소비노력을 하지 않는 측면도 나타났다. 청소년의 소비자지식 수준은 소비행태와 각 하위영역에 유의미한 영향을 미치나 설명력이 4 ~ 9%의 수준으로 나타났다. 따라서 학교 소비자교육에서는 소비자지식을 소비행동으로 연결할 수 있도록 소비자능력을 배양하고 실효성을 극대화시키는 교육적 노력이 필요하겠다.
