Kernel-based Partial Least Squares for Compositional Analysis of Naphtha
이정혜,이혜선,전치혁 대한산업공학회 2013 대한산업공학회 춘계학술대회논문집 Vol.2013 No.5
Partial least squares (PLS) regression is one of the most widely adopted methods in multivariate analysis when the multicollinearity is present. Near-infrared (NIR) spectroscopy data for Naphtha is highdimensional data which is also highly correlated. Kernel-based PLS (K-PLS) is applied to determine compositional concentration for total paraffin, total naphthene and total aromatic for Naphtha samples which is highly complex mixtures of diverse hydrocarbons. For kernel function, linear, radial basis, polynomial, and sigmoid kernel are taken for representing compositional information. This paper compares the performance of each kernel function to determine total paraffin, total naphthene and total aromatic concentrations of naphtha samples. It contributes to examine the proper kernel function for NIR as well as other spectroscopic data acquired from petroleum refining products, and also brings environmentally positive effect.
