고온고압처리와 마이크로파 처리, 증자처리 하여 제조된 마늘의 이화학적 및 항산화활성 변화를 조사하였다. 열처리 방법에 따른 마늘의 물성은 고온고압처리를 한 후 60℃에서 48시간 건조한 마늘은 hardness와 softness는 증가하는 경향을 보였고 strength는 감소하는 경향을 보였다. 생마늘과 비교해 볼 때 마이크로파 처리와 증자처리 마늘의 hardness 와 strength는 감소하는 경향을 보였고 처리시간이 증가할수록 감소하는 경향을 보였다. 생마늘의 환원당 함량은 0.041g/100 g으로 나타났으며, 고온고압처리 마늘의 환원당 함량은 처리온도가 증가할수록 증가하는 경향을 보였다. 열처리 방법에 따른 마늘이 폴리페놀 함량은 고온고압처리 온도가 증가할수록 증가한 경향을 보였고 마이크로파 처리 및 증자처리의 경우 생마늘에 비해 감소하는 경향을 보이는 것으로 나타났다. 열처리 방법에 따른 마늘의 DPPH radical 소거활성은 생마늘의 경우 3.07 mg/mL을 나타내었으며, 마이크로파 처리의 경우 4분 처리 시료가 2.16 mg/mL로 가장 높은 활성을 보였다. ABTS radical 소거활성은 생마늘의 경우 40.94 mg AEAC/mL로 나타났으며, 150℃, 2시간 처리 마늘이 76.51 mg AEAC/mL로 가장 높은 활성을 보였다. The objectives of this study was to compare the physicochemical properties and antioxidant activities of raw, microwave-treated, steam-treated and high temperature and pressure-treated garlic. The hardness and strength of microwave-treated and steam-treated garlic decreased compared to raw garlic. The hardness and softness increased but strength decreased in dried garlic-treated at 60℃ for 48 hr. The reducing sugar content of raw garlic was 0.041 g/100 g, and reducing sugar content of high temperature and pressure-treated garlic increased temperature. Total polyphenol content of microwave-treated and steam-treated decreased compared to raw garlic, while that of high temperature and pressure-treated increased with increasing temperature. IC50 value of the electron donating ability of raw garlic was 3.07 mg/mL, and the highest IC50 value was 2.16 mg/mL for microwave-treated garlic at the 4 min. The ABTS radical scavenging activity of raw garlic was 40.94 mg AEAC/mL, and the highest AEAC value was 76.51 mg AEAC/mL with high temperature and pressure-treated garlic at 150℃ at the 2 hr.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to examine the prevalence of malnutrition in hospitalized patients aged 18 years old or older at the time of admission in Korea. Methods: This multi-center, preliminary survey included patients over 18 years old who were admitted on a given day from six hospitals in Korea. Nutritional status was assessed using Subjective Global Assessment tool. Data collected included hospital characteristics, patient characteristics, nutrition screening, and nutrition assessment. Results: Among the 99 patients recruited (47 males, 47.5%), 18 (18.2%) and 2 (2.0%) patients were moderately malnourished and severely malnourished, respectively. The mean age of the malnourished group was older than that of the well-nourished group (49.7±17.1 vs. 60.5±13.6 years old, P-value=0.010). Patients admitted for medical treatment were more malnourished than those admitted for surgical treatment. Conclusion: Results of the multi-center preliminary survey showed 20.2% prevalence of malnutrition on admission. A national survey was piloted and will be followed by full implementation.

최근 개인형 이동장치의 사용이 증가하며 이와 관련된 안전문제가 제기 되었다. 그 중 높은 비중을 차지하는 헬멧 미착용에 대해 사용자들에게 헬멧의 거부감을 감소시키고 착용을 장려할 수 있는 서비스를 개발하여 실제 착용률을 증가시키고 사고시 위험 정도를 감소시킬 수 있는 애플리케이션을 설계하였다.
환삼덩굴 메탄올 추출물의 in vitro 항산화 및 항암 활성

천연식물 자원으로 풍부하게 존재하는 환삼덩굴의 기능성 소재로서의 가능성을 알아보기 위하여 환삼덩굴 메탄올 추출물에 대한 항산화활성 및 in vitro 항암활성을 측정하였다. 환삼덩굴 추출물의 총 폴리페놀 및 플라보노이드 함량은 각각 30.13 및 13.61 ㎎/g으로 나타났다. 환삼덩굴 메탄올 추출물에 대한 DPPH radical 및 hydroxyl radical 소거활성을 농도의존적으로 비례하는 경향을 보였으며, IC50% 측정한 각각 4.64, 5.18의 소거활성을 보였다. 환삼덩굴 메탄올 추출물에 대한 in vitro 항암활성을 측정한 결과, 간암세포주의 0.5 ㎎/㎖ 농도에서 50% 암세포 성장억제를 보였지만, 다른 암세포 에서는 억제효과를 나타내지 않았다. To evaluate the antioxidant and potential of Humulus japonicus, total polyphenol and flavonoid content, radical scavenging activities, and antitumor activities were measured. The total polyphenol and flavonoid contents of the methanol extracts from Humulus japonicus were 30.13±1.13 and 13.61±0.49 ㎎ gallic acid equivalent/g extract, respectively. DPPH radical and hydroxyl radical scavenging activities of methanol extracts of Humulus japonicus were 60% and 35%, respectively. The Humulus japonicus higher activities of anticancer activities on liver cancer cell lines compared to other cancer cell lines.
C57BL/KsJ-db/db 제2형 당뇨병 마우스에서 발아일품벼 추출물의 항당뇨효과

본 연구에서는 제2형 당뇨병 모델인 C57BLKS/J-db/db마우스에서 발아일품벼 추출물의 농도별로 급여한 후 혈당조절에 미치는 영향을 알아보고자 조사하였다. C57BLKS/J-db/db 마우스에게 급여한 발아일품벼 추출물의 양에 따라 5군 즉, 정상군(Normal Control: NC), 당뇨대조군(Diabetic Control: DC), 1% 발아벼 추출물 급여군(DM-1% GIRRE), 0.5% 발아벼 추출물 급여군(DM-0.5%GIRRE), 0.25% 발아벼 추출물 급여군(DM-0.25%GIRRE)으로 나누었다. 8주 동안 매일 식이 섭취량과 음료섭취량 및 매주 체중과 공복혈당을 측정하고 마지막 주에 경구포도당 부하검사(OGTT)를 실시하였으며, 부검 시 혈액을 채취하여 혈청인슐린 농도와 당화혈색소를 측정하였다. 그 결과, DM-1% GIRRE군에서 당뇨유발에 의한 체중감소 및 당뇨 증상 중에 다음(poly-dipsia), 다식(polyphasia) 등이 어느 정도 완화되고 있음을 알 수 있다. DM-1%GIRRE군에서 당뇨동물의 공복 혈당, 경구 내당능 검사, 혈중 HbA1c 수준을 유의적으로 낮추었지만, 혈장 인슐린 농도는 당뇨실험군들 간에는 차이가 나타나지 않았다. 이상의 결과를 종합해보면 발아일품벼 추출물의 급여가 혈당상승을 억제하는 효과가 있는 것으로 생각되며 그 기전에 대해서는 향후 추가 연구가 필요하다고 본다. This study was performed to investigate the effect of germinated Ilpum rough rice extract on blood glucose in C57BL/KsJ-db/db mice. The mice were divided into several groups: normal control (NC), diabetic control (DC), those fed with 0.25% germinated Ilpum rough rice extract (DM-0.25%GIRRE), those fed with 0.5% germinated Ilpum roughrice extract (DM-0.5%GIRRE) and those fed with 1% germinated Ilpum rough rice extract (DM-1%GIRRE). After 8 weeks of treatment, body weight, water intake, and diet intake of the DM-1%GIRRE group were significantly lower than the other DM groups. Blood glucose levels of the DM-1%GIRRE group were significantly lower compared to the DC group. Fasting blood glucose HbA1c level and total glucose tolerance test were significantly lower in the DM-1%GIRRE groups compared to the DC group. There was no significant difference in serum insulin level among each group. Therefore, the results of this study demonstrate that germinated Ilpum rough rice extract alleviates many of the symptoms of diabetes in genetically obese mice and may offer a possibility as a therapeutic supplement for the normalization of blood glucose levels in humans with hyperglycemia. It may also have beneficial effects in patients with non-insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus.
온라인 설문 결과 분석을 통한 피부과 약제에 대한 대국민 인식 및 행동 조사

Background: Rapid social media development has led to excessive medical misinformation. In this regard, the field of dermatology is no exception. There is persistent prejudice against dermatological drugs, and many patients hesitate to take them. Objective: We aimed to resolve the misconception that dermatological drugs are harmful, by analyzing the results of online surveys regarding the public behavior and perception of dermatological drugs. Methods: We analyzed the results of an online survey conducted by a research institution. The survey, which had been conducted between September 2020 and October 2020, included 900 online participants aged 10 to 69 years who had taken dermatological drugs. The online questionnaire consisted of items regarding patients’ behavior in relation to skin diseases and taking dermatological drugs, and their perception of dermatological drugs. Results: The main reasons for withdrawal of dermatological drugs were concerns regarding the burden of long-term use and side effects. Except for that provided by physicians, most information regarding dermatological drugs was obtained online. The most commonly reported adverse reaction was heartburn, followed by dryness, and thirst. The proportion of responders who considered dermatological drugs to be harmful was 56.1%. To address this misconception, most respondents suggested that detailed explanations of the prescribed drugs should be provided by a dermatologist, as well as vigorous communication via online media, medical papers, and educational campaigns. Conclusion: Addressing misconceptions through detailed explanations and active communication can improve patient compliance, and ultimately, the general public’s skin health.
