CD40 ligand (CD40L) expressed by activated CD4+ T cells is a family member of membrane bound TNF family ligand and its interaction with CD40 expressed in APC has been shown to contribute in enhancing immune response. Exogenous stimulation through CD40 has been performed using soluble trimeric CD40L, anti-CD40 monoclonal antibody and cells expressing CD40L. Schneider 2 (S2) cells, a cell line derived from Drosophila melanogaster, was trans-fected with a plasmid vector, pAc5.1/V5-HisA, for the constitutive expression of CD40L (S2-CD40L). Upon incubation of S2-CD40L with B-lymphocytes for 6 days, activated B cells were examined by counting CD86 and HLA Class II molecules. The activated B cells were tested for its efficient APC function by mixed lymphocyte reactions (MLR) and enzyme- linked Immunospot (ELISPOT) assay. S2-CD40L was cultured for a year and maintained CD40L expression (> 90%). S2-CD40L induced B cell activation as demonstrated by increment of total B cells and up-regulation of CD86 and MHC Class II molecules. Activated B cells pulsed with peptide from human cytomegalovirus pp65 antigen efficiently induced both proliferation and IFN-γ secretion of T cells. Our result suggests that S2-CD40L can efficiently and conveniently generate B cells as a functional APC and represents a potential role for B-cell mediated cancer immunotherapy.

단어 의미 정보를 활용하는 이용자 자연어 질의 유형의 효율적 분류

For question-answering system, question analysis module finds the question points from user’s natural language questions, classifies the question types, and extracts some useful information for answer. This paper proposes a question type classifying technique based on focus words extracted from questions and word semantic information, instead of complicated rules or huge knowledge resources. It also shows how to find the question type without focus words, and how useful the synonym or postfix information to enhance the performance of classifying module. 질의응답 시스템에서의 질의 분석 과정은 이용자의 자연어 질의 문장에서 질의 의도를 파악하여 그 유형을 분류하고 정답 추출을 위한 정보를 구하는 것이다. 본 연구에서는 복잡한 분류 규칙 집합이나 대용량의 언어 지식 자원 대신 이용자 질의 문장에서 질의 초점 어휘를 추출하고 구문 구조적으로 관련된 단어들의 의미 정보에 기반하여 효율적으로 질의 유형을 분류하는 방법을 제안한다. 질의 초점 어휘가 생략된 경우의 처리와 동의어와 접미사 정보를 이용하여 질의 유형 분류 성능을 향상시킬 수 있는 방법도 제안한다.

Normal pressure hydrocephalus (NPH) is a condition wherein the cerebrospinal pressure in the brain is within the normal range, but the cerebrospinal fluid increases above the normal level, causing ventriculomegaly. In patients with NPH, the articulatory system exhibits reduced mobility and range, which may affect diadochokinesis (DDK) and speech intelligibility. In this study, we investigated the characteristics of DDK, including accurate-token DDK and all-token DDK including inaccurate tokens, in patients with NPH and healthy elderly adults (HE). We also examined the classification accuracy of DDK between the two groups. Finally, we investigated whether there was a correlation between speech intelligibility and DDKs in the NPH group. The results showed that NPH and HE groups differed significantly in both accurate-token DDK and all-token DDK, and their classification accuracy was relatively high. However, there was no correlation between speech intelligibility and DDK. The findings suggest that the DDK is a useful method for sensitively assessing speech motor performance in patients with NPH.

3차병원 권역응급의료센터에서 발부된 사망진단서의 오류 분석

This study aimed to analyze the errors and their causes in inappropriately completed death certificates, and to suggest improvement measures. The death certificate is an important medical document that proves the cause and manner of death. However, a death certificate is not as valuable as a medical document, since many death certificates are inappropriately completed and thus provide inaccurate information. We reviewed 307 death certificates issued by the Emergency Room of Chung Nam National University Hospital between January 1, 2015, and November 31, 2016, and compared their details with the cause and manner of death in the patients’ medical records. Among various errors, the most common was “omission of other significant information not related to the cause of death” (184 cases). On 29 death certificates, the mechanism of death was recorded instead of the cause of death. When comparing death certificates and medical records, discrepancies in the cause and manner of death were found in 13 (4.2%) and 17 (5.5%) cases respectively. Although the contents of a death certificate may vary according to a physician’s point of view, multiple errors on death certificates should be avoided, and we suggest necessary improvement measures.

VAM process 내 CO<sub>2</sub> 흡수공정의 흡수제 교체 연구

VAM(Vinyl Acetate Monomer) process에서 생산하는 VAM은 에틸렌, 아세트산, 산소를 원료로 하여 생산되며, 부반응으로 에틸렌과 산소가 결합하여 CO<sub>2</sub>와 물을 생성한다. 부반응으로 생성된 CO<sub>2</sub>의 제어는 VAM process에서 VAM 생산성을 결정하는 주요 요인으로 작용하기 때문에 중요한 생산관리 포인트 중 하나이다. 본 연구에서는 이미 운영하고 있는 VAM process 내 CO<sub>2</sub> 포집공정인 Benfield process의 Benfield 용액을 한국에너지기술연구원에서 개발한 CO<sub>2</sub> 흡수제인 KIERSOL-series로 점진적으로 교체하는 상황을 가정하여 실험을 진행했다. 고온, 고압으로 설계된 1 N㎥/h CO<sub>2</sub> 연속공정을 사용하여 실험을 진행했을 때, Benfield 용액보다 저비용, 고성능의 KIERSOL-series가 더 우수한 특성을 나타냈다. 또한 VAM 공정의 특성 상 산성가스인 아세트산이 지속적으로 CO<sub>2</sub> 포집공정으로 유입되어 CO<sub>2</sub> 흡수제의 성능이 저하되는데 KIERSOL-series는 아세트산이 일정 농도가 되기 전까지는 Benfield 용액보다 우수한 흡수, 재생 특성을 나타냈다.

정보 검색 시스템의 성능 향상을 위한 구문 분석과 검색어 확장

자연어 질의문장을 입력하는 방법은 정보 검색 시스템 사용자에게 가장 이상적인 인터페이스이다. 본 논문은 자연 어 질의문장을 입력하는 검색 시스템을 위해 자연어 처리 기술에 기반하여 사용자의 입력 질의 문장을 분석하고 검색어를 확장하는 다중검색 기법을 제안한다. 질의문에 대한 형태소 분석 및 구문 분석을 수행하고, 구문 트리를 순회하여 구조적으로 연관된 복합명사를 조합하거나 분할하고, 이형표기 용어와 축약표기 용어들을 확장하여 다중 검색함으로써 재현율을 11.3%, 정확도를 4.7% 높였다. Natural language query is the best user interface for the users of information retrieval systems. This paper proposes a retrieval system with expanded keyword from syntactically-analyzed structures of user’s natural language query based on natural language processing technique. Through the steps combining or splitting the compound nouns based on syntactic tree traversal, and expanding the other-formed or shorten-formed keyword into multiple keyword, the system performance was enhanced up to 11.3% precision and 4.7% correctness.
