고전소설 텍스트 연구 방법론의 현황과 과제

This paper have an intention of inspecting on the trends of the text-studies and indicating the vision of future, focussing on the area of korean classical novel. It is a matter of common knowledge that the text-studies is very important to the study on the korean novel. But text-studies is recognized as not the area of an essential study but an marginal study. The study of classical novel aims to study of literature, so aims to investigate the value or the meaning of the work. The study of text have an intention of the position of bibliographical study simultaneously whit the position of analytics. As a part of this studies, I suggest that the scholar who investigate text itself have to make the text as the model of example.

문화콘텐츠 창작소재와 문화원형

이 글은 문화콘텐츠 창작소재의 속성과 그 창작소재로서의 문화원형에 대한 것이다. 콘텐츠와 연관을 짓지 않아도 문화원형은 그 자체로 중요한 정신사적 함의를 지닌다. 문화원형은 원론적으로 말하자면 모든 문화적 산물의 근원으로 작용한다. 원래부터 그 자리에 존재하는 것이기 때문에 굳이 공들여 개발할 필요가 없다고 할 수도 있다. 그러나 문화콘텐츠의 경쟁력 창출을 위해서는 그것이 전략적으로 발굴되고 개발될 필요가 있다. 이때의 문화원형은 소여된 상태로 항상 존재하는 근원적인 것이 아니라 특정한 창작소재의 일환으로 이해할 필요가 있다. 이에 필자는 창작소재로서 적합한 문화원형의 속성으로 보편성과 독창성을 들었다. 이 보편성과 독창성의 이상적인 결합을 통해서 가치 있는 창작소재가 발굴된다는 것이다. 뿐만 아니라 이러한 문화원형 소재를 개발하기 위해서는 당장의 산업적 수익에 매달려 일희일비해서는 안 된다. 문화원형의 개발은 한국적 문화아이콘을 정립하기 위한 큰 작업의 과정으로 이해되어야 한다. 이와 같이 미래를 내다보는 작업이라면 문화원형은 공익적 측면에서도 개발될 필요가 있다. 또 문화원형 장작소재의 개발은 산학이 가장 이상적으로 결합할 수 있는 협력 모델이다. 외국의 콘텐츠가 경쟁력을 지닐수 있는 것은 산학이 유기적으로 결합된 기획 과정이 강화되어 있기 때문이다. 이 부분을 기업이 해결할 수 없다면 당장은 국가가 주도해서 할 수밖에 없는 일이다.

고전소설의 이원적 구조와 TV드라마 -TV드라마 <별에서 온 그대>, <도깨비>와의 비교를 중심으로-

본 논문에서는 시공초월을 본격적으로 문제 삼는 드라마인 <도깨비>, <별에서온 그대>, <아랑사또전> 등에 나타난 서사 구조를 고전소설의 이원적 구조와 비교한다. 이를 통해 고전소설의 이원적 구조를 새로운 시각에서 이해할 수 있는 실마리를 얻고, 조선시대 정서구조의 한 축으로 이해되는 이원적 구조가 현대에 어떤 영향을 미치고 있는지를 알아보고자 했다. 현대의 드라마에서 설정된 전생과 현생의 이원적 구조는 여러 모로 고전소설의 이원적 구조와 닮아 있다. 그렇지만 고전소설이 지니고 있는 수직적 이원성은 천상과 지상의 관계를 시간의 개념이 아니라 공간의 개념으로 인식하게 만든다. 천상에서의 삶은 적어도 주인공에게 있어서는 전생이자 아득한 과거이지만 시간적 계기성은 전혀 주어지지 않는다. 드라마에서 설정되는 이원적 구조는 공간성보다는 시간성을 더 뚜렷하게 지닌 다. 고전소설은 천상에 대한 경외심과 천상과 소통하려는 간절한 염원이 경계공간 등의 간접 소통 방식을 만들어냈다면 드라마는 오히려 그러한 의식이 결여되었기 때문에 역설적으로 직접 소통이 나타날 수 있었다. 결국 이러한 인식으로 인해 공간성보다는 시간성이, 반복보다는 계기성이, 초월성보다는 역사성이 부각되는 수평적 이원성을 지니게 되었다고 할 수 있다. 드라마가 지니고 있는 이러한 특징은 천상에 대한 우주론적 정서 구조가 체화되어 있지 않은 현대의 산물이기 때문에 가능했다고 판단했다. It is a matter of common knowledge that The korean classical novel and TV drama are much the same. The purpose of this paper is to comparative study on the The korean classical novel and TV drama, focusing on the gap and the same between two genre. In this paper, I mainly deal with Korean modern tv drama <Goblin> and <My Love from the Star>. The reason is that the structure of duality appear in these drama, and that the structure is very important thing in korean classical novel. Novel and TV drama hold the narrative source common, the other hands this source is used in very different conditions. The duality structure of drama is quite similar to that of classical novel. But novel shows the vertical duality and strong fatalism, drama shows the horizontal duality and historical reality. This difference is due to differences in recognition between present and past and to another social condition.

조선시대 영웅소설과 슈퍼히어로

이 논문에서는 서양 슈퍼히어로 이야기의 원조이자 상징인 일련의 <슈퍼맨〉시리즈를 중심에 놓고, <어벤저스〉등 다른 작품을 보조 적으로 활용하여 우리 영웅소설과 비교 분석을 하였다. 영웅소설 중에서는 초기 영웅소설인 <홍길동전〉, 중간 단계인 <소대성전〉, 전성기 작품인 <유충렬전〉을 주요 비교 대상으로 선정하였다. 먼저, 영웅 소설의 천상과 지상, 슈퍼히어로의 외계와 지구라는 공간 설정의 문제를 비교하였다. 영웅소설은 애초에 수직적 관계로 인식되었던 천상과 지상을 수평적으로 형상화하려고 한다면, 슈퍼히어로 이야기에서는 원래 수평적으로 인식되었던 외계와 지구를 수직적으로 형상화하려는 경향을 가지고 있었다. 캐릭터 설정 문제에서는 슈퍼히어로 논의에서 중요하게 거론되는 ‘타자화’의 개념과 영웅소설의 주요 의미망 중의 하나인 가문성의 측면에서 따져 보았다. 슈퍼히어로는 한결같이 타자화를 경험한다는 점에서 홍길동과 상당한 유사점을 보였지만, 슈퍼히어로의 타자화는 이중적 자아의 갈등과 중첩되어 있다는 점에서 홍길동과 큰 차이를 보였다. 그리고 이러한 타자화를 해결하는 방식에서는 홍길동보다는 오히려 타자화 경험이 거의 없는 소대성에 더 가까운 일면을 보였다. 그리고 캐릭터와 공간 설정의 문제를 동시에 따져 보면 슈퍼히어로는 존재 방식의 측면에서는 이원적 구조를 지니는 〈유충렬전〉보다는〈홍길동전〉에 더 가깝고, 공간 설정에서는 <소대성전〉이나 <유충렬전〉에 더 가깝다고 볼 수 있었다. 어떻게 보면 일원론 개념을 이원론적으로 풀어낸 것이 슈퍼히어로 이야기라고도 볼 수 있겠다. 가족성의 측면에서는, 슈퍼히어로 이야기에서 가족성은 어디까지나 아버지라는 개체와 아들이라는 개체의 개별적 인연으로만 그 의미가 국한되었다. 이 모습은 적강한 존재이지만 현생에서는 누구도 부정할 수 없는 혈연 관계를 유지하는 영웅소설과는 확실히 다른 양상이었다. This article was written to compare modern Western superhero stories with Joseon-era hero novels, and to explore the possibility of hero novels as Korean superhero stories, as well as to explore new ways to educate classical novels. This article focused on a series of Superman series, the origin and symbol of Westem superhero stories, and used other works such as Avengers> to compare and analyze our hero novels. Among the hero novels, early hero novels such as Hong Gil-dongjeon, mid-stage "Sodae Seongjeon" and heyday "Yoo Chung-ryeoljeon" were selected as the main subjects of comparison. To this end, we looked at the concept and aspect of the term "worldview" mentioned in the superhero story, and compared it with the hero novel according to this concept. In particular, the superhero story focused on the story of Superman, the founder and symbolic character of the story. The story, which became famous in 1978 for the movie Superman, has continued to seek changes in the narrative structure for more than 40 years until recently, and the worldview has expanded accordingly. The process of changing the structure and structure of the story has shown an interesting aspect that is quite similar but fundamentally different compared to our hero novels. In other words, "Superman" and hero novels have a very similar composition, but the existence of red-river motifs, the existence of direct-bom motifs, and family nature can be seen as factors that distinguish the entire work. This was also the reason why the hero novel's main character could not be named as a superhero. We also discussed that our hero novels have a good chance of becoming Korean superhero stories.

일반논문 : 구운몽>과의 현대적 소통 -현대역 텍스트에 대한 분석을 중심으로-

<구운몽>과의 현대적 소통을 위해서는 무엇보다 소통을 위한 텍스트가 전제되어야 한다. 이 텍스트는 원전으로서의 <구운몽>이 아니라 일반적인 독자들이 읽을 수 있는 현대역 텍스트여야 한다. 본고는 <구운몽> 현대역 텍스트의 번역 및 구성 양상을 점검하고 문제점을 분석하는 것을 일차적인 목적으로 삼는다. <구운몽> 현대역 텍스트는 독자들의 연령대에 따라 다르게 구성되어야 한다. <구운몽>을 원전에 가깝게 번역하는 것은 일반 독자 즉 대학생을 포함한 성인을 염두에 둔 것이다. 물론 독서 능력이 거의 완성된 고등학생까지 감안했을 수도 있다. 이 경우는 상당히 까다로운 문제가 발생한다. 작품 곳곳에 서술되는 전고의 처리, 문장이나 문단의 구획, 문장의 서술어 처리 등 해결해야 할 문제가 하나둘이 아니다. 지나치게 원전에 구속되면 가독성이 떨어지고 원전에서 벗어나려고 하면 원래 작품의 분위기를 제대로 전달하지 못한다. 그런데 가독성에 치중한 나머지 단어를 생략하거나 표현을 바꾸었을 때 발생하는 중요한 문제를 놓치는 경우가 대부분의 텍스트에서 발견된다. 사소한 부분은 놓칠 수도 있으며, 굳이 청소년이나 아동들에게 전달될 필요가 없는 부분도 있다. 특히 아동이라면 오히려 전달되지 않는 편이 더 나을 법한 장면도 있다. 그런데 대개의 현대역 텍스트는 이러한 전략적 고려가 없이 편의에 따라 만들어졌다는 비판을 피할 길이 없어 보인다. <구운몽>과 현대적 소통을 시작하면서 복잡한 연구사적 맥락이 깔려있는 주제나 의미를 전달하는 것이 우선적인 사안은 아니다. 이 문제는 뒤로 미루어도 될 듯싶다. 먼저 강조해야 할 것은 <구운몽>을 통해 파악할 수 있는 고전소설의 미학이며, 고전소설 전체에 걸쳐 있는 지형도이다. 이 문제가 풀리지 않고서는 <구운몽>을 자발적으로 읽으려는 독자층을 확보하기 힘들다. <구운몽>과 현대적 소통을 시작하려는 현대역 텍스트들도 이 점에 주목해야 할 것이다. In matter of fact so many re-writing texts have been printed, but there are a few survey carried out. Text-studies is recognized as not the area of an essential study but an marginal study as well. Without re-writing text, contemporary communication to classical novel such as <Guunmong> is not possible. The study of text have an intention of the position of bibliographical study simultaneously whit the position of analytics. As a part of this studies, I suggest that the scholar who investigate text itself have to make the text as the model of example. The study of re-writing text and survey of interpretation to classical novel aims to make good text. I suggest here what the good text is, what the condition make good text. <Guunmong> is the most important novel in the side of history of novel and education of literature, so this study focuss on the <Guunmong>.
