Although today most injuries of face and head are the result of traffic accident, dog bites are a cause of facial injuries in children. In recent years, general guidelines have been established concerning the surgical treatment of facial dog bite injuries in children. Contrary to past beliefs, primary closure of selected bites produces the best outcome for patients without increasing the risk of infection. Special attention is attached to the functional and aesthetic outcome. The purpose of this article is to provide the oral and maxillofacial surgeon about management of facial dog bite injuries and guidelines for effective and rational treatment with review of a literature. We report a case of multiple facial dog bite injuries treated surgically by primary closure of the wound and secondary revision with rotation flap after excision of partial necrotic tissue. 아동에서 개에 의한 안면부 교상의 치료시 과거에는 감염의 위험 때문에 일차봉합술을 시행하지 않았으나 오늘날에는 일차봉합술을 추천하고 있다. 안면부 교상의 이차 치유시에는 바람직하지 않은 반흔이 발생하므로, 많은 악안면성형외과의사들은 최선의 기능적 및 심미적 결과를 얻기 위해 감염이 적은 교상에서는 12시간 내에 일차봉합술을, 그리고 심한 안면부 교상이나 조직 결손시에는 피부이식이나 유경피판을 이용한 일차재건술을 추천하고 있다. 본 증례에서는 개에 의한 안면부 다발성 교상을 주소로 응급실을 통해 본과에 내원한 3세 남아에서 파상풍 예방접종과 예방적 항생제 투여 및 일차봉합슬을 시행하였고, 부분적 괴사조직의 절제 및 국소 회전피판을 이용한 이차 수정술을 시행하여 양호한 결과를 얻었기에 문헌 고찰과 함께 보고하는 바이다.

Recently, the textile industry, which is labor-intensive, is attempting to reduce process costs and optimize quality through artificial intelligence. However, the fiber spinning process has a high cost for data collection and lacks a systematic data collection and processing system, so the amount of accumulated data is small. In addition, data imbalance occurs by preferentially collecting only data with changes in specific variables according to the purpose of fiber spinning, and there is an error even between samples collected under the same fiber spinning conditions due to difference in the measurement environment of physical properties. If these data characteristics are not taken into account and used for AI models, problems such as overfitting and performance degradation may occur. Therefore, in this paper, we propose an outlier handling technique and data augmentation technique considering the characteristics of the spinning process data. And, by comparing it with the existing outlier handling technique and data augmentation technique, it is shown that the proposed technique is more suitable for spinning process data. In addition, by comparing the original data and the data processed with the proposed method to various models, it is shown that the performance of the tensile tenacity and elongation prediction model is improved in the models using the proposed methods compared to the models not using the proposed methods.

This study was based on a series of 164 patients with zygomatic bone fracture treated at Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery of Chonnam University Hospital from January 1992 to December 1996. The male-to-female ratio was 7:1. Their ages ranged from 8 to 78 years, with a median age of 35.6 years. The age frequency was highest in the second decade (30.5%), and third decade (23.8%), fifth decade (16.5%) in orders. The monthly distrbution of incidence showed October to be the month in which the greatest percentage occured (14.0%). The major cause of zygomatic bone fracture was alleged traffic accidents (53.7%). The incidence of concomitant facial bone fractures was 69,5%, and maxilla fracture (52.4%) was most frequently combined. The admission route was through emergency room (72.3%) and through outpatient department (26.8%). The incidence of associated injuries was 37.2%. The intraoral approach was the major method of treatment in zygomatic bone fracture (57.1%). The most frequent type of zygoma fracture was class IV (33.5%), and class III (25.6%) was next in order of frequency. Complications were enophthalmos (7.3%), facial asymmetry (6.7%), paresthesia (6.1%), and diplopia (2.4%) These results suggest that correct diagnosis and treatment of severity of fracture, concomitant fracture, and associated injuries are necessary, and co-operative treatment with medical department should be performed to reduce postoperative complication. 1992년 1월 1일부터 1996년 12월 31일까지 본과에 입원하여 치료받은 환자중 추적이 가능한 관골 골절 환자 164명을 대상으로 후향적, 임상통계학적으로 비교 분석하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 관골 골절 환자의 연령 분포의 범위는 8세부터 78세까지로 평균연령은 35.6세였고, 성별 분포는 7:1로 남성에서 호발하였다. 월별로는 10월(14.0%)과 8월(11.6%)에 많았고 계절별로는 가을(31.1%), 여름(25.6%), 겨울(23.2%), 봄(20.1%)의 순이었다. 발생시각별 분포는 21~24시 (34.2%)와 1~4시 (21.3%)에 많았고, 원인별로는 교통사고(53.7%)가 가장 많은 분포를 보였다. 관골 골절의 분류에 따른 분포는 class IV(33.5%)와 class III(25.6%)가 많았고, 동반된 안면부 골절은 164명중 114명(69.5%)에서 147례가 발생하였으며, 그중 상악골 골절이 52.4%로 가장 많았다. 내원 방법은 응급실을 통해 내원한 경우가 72.3%, 외래를 통해 내원한 경우가 26.8%였으며, 타과와의 연관 손상이 있는 경우는 37.2%였다. 수상후 수술을 받을때까지 경과된 시간은 5 일 이내가 36.6%로 가장 많았으며, 접근방법으로는 구내절개법(57.1%)과 눈썹절개법(38.4%)이 많이 사용되었다. 술후 합병증으로는 안구 함몰증(7.3%), 안모 비대칭 (6.7%), 감각저하(6.1%), 복시 (2.4%) 등이 발생하였다. 이상의 결과에서 관골 골절시에는 골절의 정도와 동반 골절 및 연관 손상에 대한 정확한 진단과 치료가 필요하고 타과와의 유기적인 협조하에 적절한 처치를 해줌으로써 술후 합병증을 줄일 수 있으리라 사료된다.
골결손부에서 Bioactive glass와 차폐막의 골재생 효과

The purpose of the present study was to investigate the effect of Bioactive glass on bone regeneration in the experimental mandibular bone defects. Five rabbits, weighing about 2.0kg, were used. Three artificial bone defects, 5×5×5mm in size, were made at the inferior border of the mandible. In the experimental group 1, the bone defect was grafted with Biogran?? and covered with Bio-Gide?? resorbable membrane. In the experimental group 2, Biogran?? was grafted only. In the control group, the bone defect was filled with blood clot and was spontaneously healed. The animals were sacrificed at 1, 2, 4, and 8 weeks after the graft. Microscopic examination was performed. Results obtained were as follows: In the control group, the osteoid tissue was observed at week 1 and the bone trabeculi were connected each other and matured at week 2. The lamellar bone formation appeared at week 4, and the amount of bone tissue was increased at week 8. In the experimental group 1, the fibrous tissue was filled between the granules of Bioactive glass and the cartilage formation was found adjacent to the normal bone at week 1. The bone tissue was formed between the granules at week 2, while the amount of bone tissue increased and the lamellar bone formation was observed at week 4. The lamellar bone was increased at week 8. Histologic findings were Similar between the experimental groups 1 and 2, although the amount of Bioactive glass granules lost was increased in the latter. These results suggest that new bone formation is found around the Bioactive glass granules grafted into the bone defects, and the membrane plays a role in keeping the granules and preventing the fibrous tissue invasion.
침지식막 생물반응조의 처리특성과 중수도 적용성 평가에 관한 연구

N/A Nowadays, Water is deteriorating with several reasons such as increase of wastewater which is flowed into river and limitation of water resource. In this study, reuse water system was configurated using submerged membrane bioreactor (SMBR) system consisted of anoxic, selector, and aerobic tank with membrane to concentrate on plans for securing of water resource by reusing wastewater treatment effluent. Estimation of application for reuse water and optimized HRT was found by comparing with the characteristics of treatment with HRT change. Also, we experimented the 1st floor and 2nd floor membrane to find more effective operating condition in the SMBR system. Specific characteristics of SMBR system was satisfied with the standard of reuse water as below 10㎎/L of BOD, below 5㎎/L of COD, 0 ㎎/L of SS without regard to change of HRT ranging from 2.3hr to 11.6hr. Optimized HRT was 2.3hr and air flow rate of the 2nd floor membrane module could be reduced 28.5% lower than that of the 1st floor membrane.

Developmental anomalies arising from the branchial apparatus include cysts, external sinuses, internal sinuses, and complete fistulas. Second branchial cleft cysts are by far the most common among these anomalies. It may occur at any age, being most common in the third decade, and more frequent in the male than in the female. It usually presents a smooth, round, nontender fluctuant mass located between the level of the tragus and the clavicle along the anteromedial border of the sternocleidomastoid muscle. It is lined by respiratory or squamous epithelium unless inflammation is present. The considerable amount of lymphoid tissue may be found beneath the epithelium. The treatment of choice of branchial cleft cyst is surgical excision. If the lesion is acutely infected, however, it is essential to relieve the infection prior to the surgery This report deals with two cases of second branchial cleft cyst. In case 1, the cyst had rapidly increased in size over pregnant period. In case 2, the patient presented the swelling in the left neck, and had the history of incision and drainage because of misdiagnosis as submandibular space abscess. The infection was treated by antibiotic therapy in the first place, and then complete surgical excision was made. There was no evidence of any recurrence or complications for these 3∼4 years.
