艾葉의 RBL-2H3 비만세포 탈과립, cytokine 생산 및 FcεRI 유전자 발현에 미치는 영향

Artemisiae Asiaticae Herba (AAH) has been used to remedy of symptoms such as bleeding, dysmenorrhea, eczema and itchy skin in Oriental Medicine. In this study, we investigated the protective effect of AAH on allergic response. The effect of AAH was analyzed by ELISA and RT-PCR in RBL-2H3 cells. We investigated cell viability, β -hexosaminidase and histamine as markers of degranulation, production of IL-4 and TNF-α, and gene expression of HDC2, cytokines and FcεRI αβγ subunit. We found that AAH suppressed β-hexosaminidase and histamine release, the production of IL-4 and TNF-α in RBL-2H3 by the anti-DNP IgE plus DNP-HSA stimulation. AAH also significantly decreased cytokine mRNA expressions, such as IL-1β, IL-2, IL-3, IL-4, IL-5, IL-6, IL-12, IL-13, TNF-α, and GM-CSF, and increased cytokine mRNA expressions of IL-10 in RBL-2H3. In addition, AAH suppressed mRNA expression of FcεRI αβγ subunit on cell surface. Our results indicate that AAH protects against allergic response and exerts an anti-inflammatory effect through the inhibition of degranulation and production of cytokines and expression of FcεRI αβγ subunit.
Kinetic models에 의한 딸기 중 농약의 생물학적 반감기 비교와 생산단계잔류허용기준 설정

This study was conducted to determine the amounts of pesticide residues after treatment of criterion dose with 4 pesticides(tolclofos-m, folpet, procymidone, and triflumizole) under cultivated period and to compare the biological half-life of pesticides with 6 kinetic models(first, zero and second order kinetics, power function, elovich and parabolic model) and to establish proposed field tolerance using biological half-lives. Recovery of 4 pesticides from strawberry was ranged from 85.1 to 105.5%. For all of 4 pesticides, dissipation rate was over 73% at 5 days after application. Among 6 kinetic models, first order kinetic model (FO) was best fit to describe the relationship between residual pattern of pesticides and time. Therefore, half-lives were calculated by FO for establishing the field tolerance. These results showed that half-life should be calculated by comparative best fit kinetic model and field tolerance can help to prevent unacceptable agricultural products from marketing. It is good for both consumers and farmers having safe agricultural products and financial benefits, respectively.
위암에서 TGF - 1 과 TGF - 2 형 수용체의 역할

Background: Transforming growth factor-beta (TGF-β) is a potent inhibit or of epithelial cell growth. However, carcinoma cells, unlike normal cells, can escape from negative regulation by TGF-β through lack of expression or mutation of TGF-β receptor gene. In this study, we investigated the role of TGF-β1 and TGF-β type 2 receptors (TβR-2) in the progression of gastric cancer. Methods: We analyzed TGF-β1 and TβR-2 mRNA expression semi-quantitatively, measured by comparative RT-PCR using GAPDH, in 23 patients who underwent gastric resection for gastric cancer. We analyzed the relationship between the clinicopathologic findings and the level of the TGF-β1 and TβR-2 mRNA expression in carcinoma tissues and in adjacent normal tissues of gastric cancer. Results: (1) TGF-β1 and TβR- 2 mRNA were expressed in all of the carcinoma tissues and adjacent normal tissues without statistical difference in the level of the expression. (2) The level of TGF-β1 mRNA expression was higher in patients with early gastric cancer , negative lymph nodes or negative perineural invasion. There was no significant correlation between the level of TGF-β1 mRNA expression and several parameters such as age, gender, tumor size, differentiation, Lauren's classification, and vascular invasion. (3) There was no significant correlation between the level of TβR-2 mRNA expression and several prognostic variables described above. (4) There was significant correlation between the level of TGF-β1 and TβR-2 mRNA in carcinoma tissues. Conclusion: The above data indicates that TGF-β1 may contribute in the early stages of gastric carcinogenesis. Further studies are required to clarify the role of TGF-β1 in gastric carcinogenesis. 19세기 남명학파의 동향 일고찰 -월촌(月村) 하달홍(河達弘)의 삶과 교유활동을 중심으로-

月村 河達弘은 19세기 강우지역에서 활동했던 학자이다. 그는 실용 을 중시하는 학문경향을 가지고 南冥 曺植과 謙齋 河弘度를 존숭하며 慕寒齋에서 강학활동을 전개하였다. 이로써 인근의 학자들을 운집시키 고 그들에게 남명학파로서의 의식을 고취시켰다. 이때 月皐 趙性家ㆍ 溪南 崔琡民ㆍ東寮 河載文ㆍ克齋 河憲鎭ㆍ斗山 姜柄周ㆍ尼谷 河應魯 등이 그의 문하에서 종유하였다. 이후 조성가와 최숙민은 하달홍의 인도 아래 보다 체계적인 학문을 위해 노사학단에 나아가 奇正鎭에게 수학하였다. 한편 하재문과 하헌 진은 본거지로 돌아가 寒州 李震相과 교유하였고, 강병주와 하응로는 性齋 許傳에게 나아가 집지하였다. 조성가와 최숙민이 노사학단의 핵심인물로 자리매김한 것에 비해 하재문이 한주학단에서나 강병주가 성재학단에서 차지하는 비중은 그 리 크지 않다. 그러나 이들 모두는 남명을 존숭하고 학문의 실천성을중시하는 남명학파로서의 정체성을 가지고 있었다. 이를 통해 두 가지 사실을 알 수 있는데, 하나는 하달홍의 모한재 강학이 남명학파의 정체성을 확립하는데 큰 역할을 했다는 것과, 다른 하나는 하달홍이 노사학파와 친밀성이 깊다는 점이다. 다시 말해 하달홍은 19세기 하동과 인근 강우지역의 문인들에게 남 명의 학문과 사상을 계승하고 보다 큰 학문을 접할 수 있도록 발판의 역할을 해 주었으며, 이를 통해 그 문인들은 남명학파로서의 정체성을 가지고 각자의 학문을 발전시켜 나갔던 것이다. Ha Dal-hong(河達弘, 1809~1877) was a scholar who worked in the Rainfall Area. He respected Nammyeong(南冥) Jo-Sik(曺植)ㆍ Kyumjae(謙齋) Ha Hongdo(河弘度) besides had a practical academic tendency. And gatherd the young scholars around as inspired the Nam-myoung school``s consciousness. Especially scholars such as Wolko(月皐) Cho Sung-ga(趙性家), Gyenam(溪南) Choi Suk-Min(崔琡民) gatherd there When he was studying at Ha Hongdo``s school Mohanjae(慕寒齋). Since then, Cho Sung-ga and Choi Suk-Min enterd the Nosa School of Ki Jung-jin(奇正鎭) for systematic studying under his leadership. Other scholars enterd the Han-ju School of Yi jin-sang or Sung Jae School of Heo Jeon. Even though they said they had a different academic orientation emphasized the practical academic tendency. And they had a identity as Nam-myoung school``s scholar. So Ha Dal-hong had a great influence in that Rainfall Area``s people had a identity as Nam-myoung school``s scholar, Through this, he receives a rating that succeed to the Ha Hongdo``s learning.

Nowadays, the market of solar energy is growing up gradually with interest of green energy. To increase productivity of solar cell, automation line is composed of many types of robots such as cassette robot, beam type glass handling robot, link type glass handling robot and vacuum robot for glass transport. For mass production and reduction of tact time, handling technology of larger glass substrate is the main issue in the manufacturing process. Therefore, position precision and vibration control of glass handling robot became important in the solar cell production because solar cell substrate is three to five times heavier than LCD glass substrate. In the paper, modeling and motion simulation of the beam type glass handing robot is studied.
백굴채약침액(白屈菜藥針液)이 LPS로 유도(誘導)된 RAW 264.7 대식세포(大食細胞)에서의 항염증효과(抗炎症效果)

Objectives: Recently, Herbal-acupuncture therapeutics has been used for the treatment of inflammatory diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis. Especially, we have been interested in chemical mediators concerned with inflammation such as prostaglandin, cytokine, nitrous oxide. The purpose of this study is investigated that the effect of Chelidonii Herbal-acupuncture solution in lipopolysaccharide-stimulated RAW 264.7 macrophages, performed several expeimental items: those are prostaglandin E2, nitric oxide and cyclooxygenase-2. Methods: The cytotoxicity of Chelidonii Herbal-acupuncture solution in RAW 264.7 macrophages were measured by MTT-based cytotoxicity assay. In order to observe cyclooxygenase-2 mRNA expression in lipopolysaccharide-stimulated RAW 264.7 macrophages, RT-PCR was used. Prostaglandin E2 formation and nitric oxide production was measured by competitive enzyme immunoassay and Griess assay. Results: 1. The MTT assay demonstrated that cytotoxic effect of Chelidonii Herbal-acupuncture solution in RAW 264.7 macrophages were not appeared before concentration of 1㎎/㎖. 2. Chelidonii Herbal-acupuncture solution inhibited cyclooxygenase-2 mRNA expression in lipopolysaccharide-stimulated RAW 264.7 macrophages. 3. Chelidonii Herbal-acupuncture solution inhibited nitric oxide production in lipopolysaccharide-stimulated RAW 264.7 macrophages. 4. Chelidonii Herbal-acupuncture solution inhibited prostaglandin E2 formation in lipopolysaccharide-stimulated RAW 264.7 macrophages. Conclusions: On the basis of these results, It was shown that Chelidonii Herbal-acupuncture solution is significantly able to inhibit the production of PGE2 and NO, as well as COX-2 mRNA expression. Our results may provide new mechanism by which Chelidonii Herbal-acupuncture solution accounts for its beneficial effect on accelerating wound healing and anti-inflammation.
원발성 담즙성 경변증 16예의 임상상 : 단일 센터 경험

Background : Primary biliary cirrhosis (PBC) is a chronic cholestatic liver disease of unknown etiology. The disease is relatively common in western countries, but so far, only about 20 cases have been reported in Korea. Thus, the purpose of our prospective study was to evaluate the clinical characteristics of PBC in Korea. Methods : Between October 1994 and February 1999, 16 patients diagnosed as PBC at our department were enrolled in this study. We analyzed these patients for the distribution of age and sex, initial symptoms and signs, associated disorders, laboratory, endoscopic, and radiologic and histologic findings. Results : Of the 16 patients, the ratio of male to female was 1:7 and the average age was 57.5 years. Pruritus (37.5%) was the most frequent presenting symptom followed by xerostomia and xerophthalmia (12.5%), jaundice (6.3%), chronic fatigue (6.3%), melena (6.3%). Associated disorders were Sj gren's syndrome (25%), arthropathy (12.5%), Raynaud's phenomenon (6.3%) and diabetes (6.3%). Abnormalities of liver function were found frequently. Antimitochondrial antibody (100%), antinuclear antibody (31.25%) and rheumatoid factor (31.25%) were found. Long-term administration of UDCA improved both clinical and biochemical signs in most patients, however, 2 patients experienced exacerbation during UDCA therapy. Conclusions : We experienced 16 cases of PBC within a short period. It is expected that we can find these patients more frequently if we suspect this disease in patients with pruritus and unexplained obstructive pattern of liver function abnormality.(Korean. J.
