3-dimensional nonwoven fabrics show high loft performance owing to their dominant fiber orientation in the thickness direction. A high loft performance is a fundamental requirement for applications to cushion materials and pre-filters etc. In this study, the process was optimized to obtain 3-dimensional nonwoven fabrics with improved physical properties. The process conditions, such as the distance between the air ejection nozzles, compressed air pressure and web sustaining mesh size, were examined to develop a fiber orientation in the thickness direction of nonwoven fabrics. The mechanical properties and fiber orientation distribution function (ODF) were compared.

The purpose of this study was to find anatomical variation of each small breed dog’s dentition for designing more effective dental chews. Small breed dogs were volunteered for dental impressions with dental stone and alginate under tiletamine-zolazepam, tramadol, and medetomidine intravenous anesthesia. Twenty-two criteria were measured to compare dental impressions. Twenty-five dogs (9 Malteses, 8 Miniature Poodles, and 8 Shih-Tzus) were recruited. Statistically, Shih-Tzus had smaller teeth and shorter interdental spaces than those of Maltese and Miniature Poodles. Grossly, the distance between upper teeth and lower teeth was wider in Shih-Tzus. Shih-Tzu had different dental anatomy in comparative to Miniature Poodle and Maltese. It was recommended to design the dental chew considering these differences.
초음파 유도하 맘모톰으로 영상적 종괴 제거 후 유방암이 진단된 환자에서 수술 전 유방 MRI의 유용성

Purpose: We evaluated the MRI findings that suggested the presence of a residual cancer after a mammotome biopsy in pathologically proven breast cancer patients and the usefulness of MRI to diagnose a residual cancer and additional lesions. Materials and Methods: We reviewed 41 breast cancer patients that underwent an ultrasonography-guided mammotome biopsy for complete resection of a breast lesion. MRI was performed for preoperative assessment and MRI findings suggestive of a residual cancer at the procedure site were analyzed and correlated to the pathological findings. Additional enhancements on breast MRI were analyzed, and the diagnostic accuracy of MRI for occult additional lesions was calculated. Results: A total of 32 (78.0%) patients had a residual tumor. A mass was the most common MRI finding that suggested a residual cancer. Thick rim enhancement or a mass with a non-mass like enhancement were the most suspicious findings that suggested the presence of a residual cancer. The sensitivity, specificity and accuracy of MRI for the detection of a residual cancer were 81.3%, 66.7% and 78.0%, respectively. Additional malignant lesions were found in 7 cases. The sensitivity, specificity and accuracy of MRI for the detection of additional lesions were 100%, 60.0% and 76.5%, respectively. Conclusion: Further complete surgery should be performed, as residual tumors are found in 50% of the negative MRI examinations, whereas preoperative MRI is helpful to evaluate occult additional lesions. 목적: 맘모톰 생검으로 영상적 종괴제거 후 악성병변으로 진단된 환자에서 수술 전 자기공명영상(MRI)으로 잔류종양을 예측할 수 있는 소견을 분석하고, 잔류종양과 추가병변을 진단하는 MRI의 유용성을 알아보고자 하였다. 대상과 방법: 41명의 환자가 영상적 완전절제를 목적으로 한 초음파 유도하 맘모톰 생검에서 유방암으로 진단되었다. 수술 전 평가를 위하여 MRI 검사를 하였으며, 시술부위의 잔류종양을 시사하는 MRI 소견을 분석하고 수술 후 조직학적 소견과 비교하였다. MRI에서 시술부위 외에 추가 조영증강을 분석하고 유방촬영술 및 초음파에서 발견되지 않는 잠재성 추가병변에 대한 MRI의 진단 정확도를 계산하였다. 결과: 32명(78.0%)의 환자에서 조직학적으로 생검부위에 잔류종양이 있었다. 종괴가 잔류종양을 의심하는 가장 흔한 소견이며, 두꺼운 조영증강 테두리 또는 종괴와 비종괴성 조영증강을 같이 보이는 경우가 가장 의심스러운 소견으로 잔류종양을 예측하는 MRI의 민감도, 특이도 그리고 정확도는 각각 81.3%, 66.7%, 78.0%이었다. MRI로 잠재성 추가 악성병변을 7예에서 발견하였고, 추가병변을 예측하는 MRI의 민감도, 특이도 그리고 정확도는 각각 100%, 60.0%, 76.5%이었다 결론: MRI에서 음성의 소견을 보이더라도 50%에서 잔류종양이 발견되므로 수술을 하여 종양의 완전절제가 이루어지도록 해야 하며, 이때 수술 전 MRI는 유방촬영술 및 초음파에서 발견되지 않는 추가병변을 발견하는데 매우 유용하다.
