Development of an Automatic Marking System for Fabric Inspection Machine

In this study, an automatic marking system for fabric inspection machines was developed. The main objectives of the study were to promote intelligence and automation for the inspection process, as well as to increase textile industrial productivity. Generally, when a worker manually inspects and marks a fabric, human error and reduced efficiency are unavoidable. To overcome these problems, we developed an automatic marking system that uses robots. This system incorporates a vision camera to automatically recognize defects, and an optical fiber sensor to detect the side of the fabric. To verify the performance, the control system sends a command directly to the robot to mark the fabric. Finally, the actual production confirmed that the proposed system could perform the desired motion.
Kennedy’s Disease with Chronic Low Back Pain and Muscle Weakness

Kennedy’s disease (KD) or bulbospinal muscular atrophy is an uncommon x-linked recessive genetic disorder. Its diagnosis is challenging due to its wide array of clinical manifestations and difficulty distinguishing it from other motor neuron diseases. Thus, diagnosis is confirmed through DNA testing. 52-year-old male patient presented to the hospital with chronic low back pain (LBP) and muscle weakness. The patient had mild weakness in some proximal muscles, increased deep tendon reflex. Lumbar spine magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) showed degenerative changes. Motor nerve conduction test results showed close to the normal. Sensory nerve conduction test results showed decreased latency and amplitude in most nerves. Needle electromyography revealed fasciculation potentials, diffuse fibrillation potentials, and positive sharp waves were detected. Thus, molecular genetic testing was performed. Consequently, KD was diagnosed. These results suggest the importance of detailed history taking and neurological examination even for patients with chronic LBP to rule out severe diseases.
들깨 잎 추출물의 Nitric Oxide Synthase 저해활성 및Peroxynitrite 소거활성

Activated microglia by neuronal injury or inflammatory stimulation overproduce nitric oxide (NO) by inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) and reactive oxygen species (ROS) such as superoxide anion, resulting in neurodegenerative diseases. The toxic peroxynitrite (ONOO−), the reaction product of NO and superoxide anion further contributes to oxidative neurotoxicity. We tried to evaluate the effects of two kinds of varieties of Perilla frutescens var. japonica Hara on the NO production in lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-activated microglia. The perilla cultivars of Namcheondeulkkae (NC) and Boradeulkkae (BR) were developed by pure line from the local variety and by a cross between ‘deulkkae’ and ‘chajogi’, respectively. Spirit, hexane, chloroform and butanol fractions of the leaves of NC and BR inhibited the production of NO in LPS-activated microglia. The fractions of BR showed stronger activity than NC and the spirit extracts was the most potent in both cultivars. The solvent fractions of BR suppressed the expression of protein and mRNA of iNOS in LPS-activated microglial cells. Moreover, the extracts of NC and BR showed the activity of peroxynitrite scavenging in cell free bioassay system. These results imply that Namcheondeulkkae and Boradeulkkae might have neuroprotective activity through the inhibition of NO production by activated microglial cells and peroxynitrite scavenging activity.

It is discussed how to locate idle vehicles of AGVS considering various situations ; a single or multiple parking locations, a single AGV or multiple AGVs, the different order arriving rates, etc. A popular positioning method, static positioning, is suggested and used in this study. This positioning strategy is analyzed for many performance parameters - the expected mean response time, the parking resident time, the loaded vehicle time, the empty vehicle time and AGV utilization - by a simulation experiment.
입계상 조성이 탄화규소의 미세구조와 기계적 특성에 미치는 영향

By using {{{{ { { {Y }_{3 }Al }_{5 }O }_{12 } }} (YAG) and SiO2 as sintering additives the effect of the composition of sintering ad-ditives on microstructure and mechanical properties of the hog-pressed and subsequently annealed SiC ma-terials were investigated. Microstructures of sintered and annealed materials were strongly dependent onthe composition of sintering additives. The average diameter and volume fraction of elongated grains in an-nealed materials increased with the SiO2/YAg ratio while the fracture toughness increased with the SiO2/YAg ratio. The average MPa.{{{{ { m}^{1/2 } }} respectively. Typical strength and fracture toughness of an annealed material with SiO2/YAg ra-tionof 0.67 were 371 MPa and 5.6 MPa.{{{{ { m}^{1/2 } }} respectively.

Additive manufacturing is advantageous for low-volume production of various products as it is not constrained by the product shape. In the defense industry, additive manufacturing has been applied in various manners to meet the demand for low-volume production of various products. We designed and manufactured a protective cover for a guided missile using additive manufacturing. To achieve this, design requirements, such as size, weight, fixation, protection, surface condition, usability, and environmental conditions, were established through actual users. Based on these requirements, a design was proposed that satisfied the requirements by incorporating additive manufacturing design guidelines and lattice structures. The design was validated through simulation and the prints were tested and verified through various inspections and experiments. The final protective cover had no usability issues after environmental testing.
