Bovine viral diarrhea virus (BVDV) is very important disease in domestic and wild ruminants and has a world wide distribution. Cattle persistently infected with BVDV (BVDV-PI) are the primary reservoir for BVDV infection in Korean native cattle herds. The prevalence of cattle persistently infected with BVDV (BVD-PI) was determined using 4,260 heads from 29 Korean native cattle farms at 8 districts from 2011 to 2012. The sera and ear nothches were collected for each sample. We surveyed BVD-PI cattle using antibody ELISA and antigen capture ELISA for detection of antibody and antigen respectively. Three thousand seventy-six cattle (72.2%) were positive for BVDV antibody and a total of 27 BVD-PI cattle were found in 12 farms. 11 cattle (40.7%) out of the total 27 BVDV-PI cattle were six months old or under. The positive rate of BVDV antibody (83.2%) from 12 farms with BVD-PI cattle was higher than the positive rate of BVDV antibody (63.6%) from 17 farms without BVD-PI cattle.
어류 중 4계열 잔류 항생물질 검출을 위한 Lateral Flow Immunoassay Kit 개발

A lateral flow immunoassay kit based on antigen-antibody interactions was developed to detect residues of beta-lactams, quinolones, tetracyclines, and sulfonamides in farmed fish. Group-specific antibodies showing cross-reactivity with other antibiotics in the same group were produced in rabbits. The rabbits were immunized eight times to obtain the maximum titers. Antibodies were extracted from the antisera collected from the immunized rabbits and produced group-specific reactions with antibiotics from the four groups. A kit was prepared that optimize conditions for the antigen-antibody reaction, using colloidal gold conjugated antibodies, and was designed to detect the four groups of antibiotics simultaneously. The kit enabled the detection of antibiotics in the four groups at below maximum residue limits (MRLs), which were 200 μg/kg for tetracyclines, 100 μg/kg for sulfonamides, 50 μg/kg for beta-lactams, and 100 μg/kg for quinolones. The cross-reactivity of the antibodies ranged from 10-80% for the sulfonamides, 20- 100% for tetracyclines, 38-100% for quinolones, and 20-100% for the beta-lactams, confirming that the antibodies were group specific. The test kit was used 30 times to examine spiked antibiotics at the limits of detection (LODs) and all produced positive results, indicating high sensitivity. The LODs for the assay ranged from 4-20 ng/mL for beta-lactams, 25-50 ng/mL for sulfonamides, 20-100 ng/mL for tetracyclines, and 30-80 ng/mL for quinolones, and there were no false negative reactions at above these LODs. In addition, all of the LODs of the developed kit were correlated with high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) data. Our lateral flow immunoassay kit can simultaneously detect antibiotic residues from a large number of fish samples rapidly, strengthening the safety of domestic farmed and imported fish.
CO_2 레이저빔을 이용한 TFT-LCD 도광판의 패턴 제작에 관한 연구

A light guide panel is an element of the LCD backlight module that is often used for the display of compact electronic devices. In this study, a laser marking system is proposed to fabricate light guide panel, which can replace other manufacturing methods such as silk printing, stamping, or v-cutting methods. The objective of this research is to evaluate the process parameters of the laser marking system. Light guide patterns were marked with a 50W CO_2 laser(CW) to understand the effects of average power and scanning speed on the geometry and quality of groove pattern. The width of the fabricated grooves increases with increasing laser power and decreasing scan speed. In order to analyze surface characteristics and optical properties(luminance, uniformity), SEM photography and BM7(luminance measuring system) were used. As a result, the optimal conditions of the process parameters that provide high luminance was obtained.
