幽門部 閉鎖症을 同伴한 胃結核 및 大腸結核 1例 : A Case Report

This 25 years-old Korean female was admitted to the surgical department of Wallace Memorial Baptist Hospital on September 9, 1969, with complaints of epigastric distress, indigestion, nausea, regurgitation vomiting 3 years in duration. For the several months he had been troubled with, indestion, hunger pain, regurgitation, epigastric distress, and strength. Physical examination showed small hen's egg sized mass on the right neck, and palpable mass on epigastric area and pain, tenderness and epigastric fullness. Upper G-I series was suspected marked hypotonic and ptotic with dilatated stomach and not evacuated barium meals from stomach. (Pyloric obstruction) On September 9, 1969. On September 12, 1969 the patient was operated through upper median incision, and perigastric lymphnode biopsy, partial omentectomy, antecolic type gastrojejunostomy and medication of tuberculosis drugs, P.A.S., I.N.H. streptomycin 1.0 gram were done. On October 6, 1969 (postoperative 24th day). The patient had upper G-I series. The contrast dye was directly evacuated to the jejunum from stomach and the barium enema showed marked mucosal irregularity with luminal narrowing and questionable shallow ulceration at the right half of transverse colon. Convalescence was uneventful and patient was discharged on October 14, 1969. On December, 16, 1969 (postoperative 97th day) 'the patient visited at clinic (O.P.D.) and then checked upper G-I series. The result showed marked irregularity of the mucosal pattern of the stomach, and by-pass pathway formation due to gastro-jejunostomy, and original duodenal loop was demonstrated. The pylosic obstruction due to tuberculosis of the stomach with large intestinal cervical lymphadenitis was briefly reviewed with literature.

Microturbellarians, small free-living Platyhelminthes are rich in freshwater environments. They are useful as indicator of water quality. There has never been a record of microturbellarians in Korea. Here I report a microturbellarian species, Catenula confusa Nuttycombe, 1956. Although specimens in this study show some differences with those of the original description of C. confusa in length and width of zooid, they conform to the specific diagnosis of this species.
New Records of Testate Amoebae from Korea

Testate amoebae are useful organisms when evaluating the condition of freshwater ecosystems and wetland habitats. Herein, I report on seventeen unrecorded species of testate amoebae from Korea: Arcella arenaria, A. costata, A. hemisphaerica, Centropyxis constricta, C. discoides, C. spinosa, Difflugia amphora, D. globulosa, D. longicollis, D. penardi, Heleopera rosea, Hyalosphenia subflava, Nebela militaris, N. penardiana, Netzelia wailesi, Cyphoderia ampulla, and C. trochus.

In this study, we assessed genetic variations in eight Korean populations and one Japanese population of the golden orb-web spider, Nephila clavata, using an amplified fragment length polymorphism (AFLP) marker. Upon the analysis of AFLPs amplified by the ECO-AG and ging from 40703 bp. The Jeonju population of Korea evidenced the closest genetic relationship with the Japanese population. In accordance with a principal component analysis (PCA) in which all of the individuals were asigned to one of thre groups, the majority of the Korean genotypes were assigned to GROUP 1, whereas the majority of the Japanese genotGROUP 2; this group also included nine individuals from the Korean population. The results of AMOVA (analysis of molecular variance) showed that genetic diversity was more pronounced within each population than among the populations. These results indicate that no obvious genetic-geographic association exists among Korean and Japanese N. clavata ne flow via ballooning. Also, the divergence of genetic groups may have been afected by historical proceses, including geographical isolation.

A recent study on the mitochondrial genetic variation of the Carassius auratus population in South Korea suggested that there are 3 distinct mitochondrial lineages in the country, and that they are geographically separated between westward rivers and southward rivers, respectively. In this study, the population genetic structure of amplified fragment length polymorphism (AFLP) of Carassius auratus was investigated. The results of analysis of molecular variance (AMOVA) supported the geographic distinction between westward and southward river populations, but only 3.66% of total genetic variance lies among these populations. The panmicticity of the AFLP genetic variation is backed up by the results of the neighbor-joining dendrogram drawn from a linearized pairwise FST matrix and Bayesian clustering analysis. The discordance of genetic structure between mitochondrial and AFLP genetic variation may come from difference in effective population size between these markers and/or gene flow between westward and southward river populations through river capture events.
