        Purpose: This study was peformed to investigate whether the free to total PSA ratio(F/T PSA ratio) offers a better discriminant for the detection of patient with prostatic cancer(CaP) and those with benign prostatic hyperplasia(BPH) than serum total PSA alone. Materials and Methods: From September 1996 to February 1999, free and total PSA levels were measured on frozen sera samples of 154 men with BPH and 46 with CaP using immunoradiometric assay. Results: In all subjects, the mean total PSA was significantly higher in CaP group(72.57±66.58ng/ml) than BPH group(3.12±4.10ng/ml). The mean PSAD was significantly higher in CaP group(1.64± 1.86) than BPH group(0.08±0.01). The mean F/T PSA ratio was significantly lower in CaP group(0.19± 0.07) than BPH group(0.30±0.13). Among 41 subjects whose total PSA were between 4-20ng/ml, the mean PSAD was significantly higher in CaP group(0.37±7.16) than BPH group(0.17± 0.07), but the mean F/T PSA ratio was not significantly different between CaP(0.19± 0.10) and BPH group(0.25±7.13). By comparing the sensitivity and specificity of total PSA alone, PSAD and F/T PSA ratio on receiver operating characterislic (ROC) Cutie in all subiects and subiects with total PSA between 4-20ng/ml, F/T PSA ratio had no superiority than total PSA alone and PSAD for discrimination between CaP and BPH. Conclusions: We suggest that the F/T PSA ratio is not superior to total PSA alone and FSAD in the detection of prostatic cancer, and further evaluation of the usefulness of F/T PSA ratio should be required.

        Prevalence of Trichomonas vaginalis by PCR in Men Attending a Primary Care Urology Clinic in South Korea

        Trichomonas vaginalis, a causative agent of trichomoniasis, may trigger symptomatic or asymptomatic nongonococcal urethritis and chronic prostatitis in men. Despite the availability of highly sensitive diagnostic tests, such as nucleic acid amplification tests, including PCR, few prospective studies present data on male T. vaginalis infection in South Korea. In the present study, the prevalence of T. vaginalis and associated clinical conditions were evaluated in 201 male patients from a primary care urology clinic in South Korea. The prevalence of T. vaginalis infection in our cohort was 4% (8/201) by PCR. T. vaginalis infection was common in men older than 40 years (median age, 52 years). Among the 8 Trichomonas-positive patients, 87.5% (7/8) had prostatic diseases, such as prostatitis and benign prostatic hyperplasia, and 25.0% (2/8) and 12.5% (1/8) were coinfected with Chlamydia trachomatis and Mycoplasma genitalium, respectively. Our results suggest that T. vaginalis infection is not rare in men attending primary care urology clinics in South Korea, especially in those older than 40 years, in whom it may explain the presence of prostatic disease. The possibility of T. vaginalis infection should be routinely considered in older male patients with prostatic diseases in South Korea.

      • Identifying Industry-Specific Components of PL response system using Delphi-AHP Method

        Purpose - PL (product liability) response system is an enterprise-wide system that prevents company’s financial loss due to PL-related accidents. Existing researches on PL response system are mainly focused on preventive and/or defense strategies for the companies. Also, it is obvious that each industry has their original characteristics related on PL issues. It means industry-specific characteristics should be considered to adopt PL response strategies. Thus, this paper aims to discuss industry-specific PL response system and their components. Methodology/Approach - Based on prior researches, we tried to reveal the possibility of its application to manufacturing companies of existing PL response strategies using Delphi method with PL experts. Based on first round results, we tried to classify existing PL strategies of manufacturing companies into several categories. To validate our suggestion for essential components of PL response system, second round Delphi method are applied. Analytic hierarchy process (AHP) technique will be applied to identify a prioritized list of each components and strategies. Findings - Existing PL response strategies could be categorized with six components - strategy, technology, investment, training, awareness, and organization. Among six components, Technology - it represents the technology needed for improving the safety of all products - is the most important components to prepare PL accidents. Other results will be added in full paper. Research Limitation: The limitation of this paper is on the size of survey and variety of examples. However, the future study will enhance the potential of the proposed method. Originality/Value of Paper - Regardless of rich research efforts to identify PL response strategies, there is no effort to categorize these strategies and prioritized them. Well-coordinated and actionable PL response strategies and their priorities could help small-and-medium sized enterprise (SME) to develop their own PL response system with their limited resources.

      • Strategies for SMEs based on a PEST-SWOT-AHP Analysis in Response to the lntroduction of the product Liability Law

        To formulate strategies for small and medium-sized manufacturing enterprises (SMEs) in response to the enforcement of the product liability (PL) law, factors that influence the enforcement of the PL law were identified through a political, economic, social, and technological (PEST) analysis. Furthermore, the relative importance was proposed for each area through a strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats analytic hierarchy process (SWOT-AHP) analysis of the identified factors. In order to identify the relative importance of each area, a pairwise analysis was conducted through a questionnaire survey targeting experts in businesses related to PL. The results suggest the greater importance of opportunities and strengths than threats and weaknesses, indicating that the enforcement of the PL law would provide SMEs more opportunities than burdens. Through these results the S/O, S/T, W/O, W/T strategies for SMEs, which can be preferentially implemented, were proposed.

      • Direct Search Methods for Nonlinear Optimization Problem used ART Theory

        In this paper, the search is conducted along each of the coordinate directions for finding the minimum. If e<SUB>i</SUB> is the unit vector along the coordinate direction i, we determine the value a, minimizing f(α)=f(x+αe<SUB>i</SUB>), where a is a real number. A move is made to the new point x+α<SUB>i</SUB>e<SUB>i</SUB> at the end of the search along the direction i. In an n dimensional problem, we define the search along all the directions as one stage. The function value at the end of the stage is compared to the value at the beginning of the stage in establishing the convergence. The gradient appears to be zero at point. We can safeguard this by introducing an acceleration step of one additional step along the pattern direction developed by moves along the coordinate directions.

      • 차량 영상을 이용한 딥러닝 기반 차종 및 번호판 식별 시스템

        차량 외관에서 추출할 수 있는 정보의 핵심은 차종과 등록 번호이다. 본 논문에서는 AI-Hub 플랫폼에서 제공하는 98,153개의 차량 영상 데이터를 딥러닝으로 학습하여 제조사와 모델 및 번호판을 인식하는 시스템을 개발하였다. 차종 식별 단계에서는 객체 인식 알고리즘 YOLOv5를 활용한 학습을 위한 최적의 파라미터를 도출하였으며 그 결과로 1000개 이상의 데이터를 가진 차량 모델에 대한 인식 정확도가 약 90%에 도달하였다. 번호판 식별은 OpenCV의 다양한 영상처리 알고리즘을 적용하여 번호판 영역을 분리한 후 OCR을 적용하였으며 이로써 차량의 외관 영상으로 차종과 번호판을 모두 식별하는 시스템을 완성하였다. The vehicle type and registration number are key elements of vehicle exterior information. In this paper, we developed a system that recognizes manufacturers, models, and license plates by training 98,153 vehicle image data provided by the AI-Hub platform through deep learning. In the vehicle type identification stage, the optimal parameters for learning using the object recognition algorithm YOLOv5 were derived, and as a result, the recognition accuracy for vehicle models with more than 1000 data reached about 90%. The license plate identification system was completed by separating the license plate area with OpenCVs various image processing algorithms and applying OCR to identify both vehicle types and license plates with vehicle appearance images.

        In many control system applications, the system designed must not only satisfy the damping and accuracy specifications, but the control must also yield performance that is robust to external disturbance and parameter variations. We have shown that feedback in conventional control systems has the inherent ability of reducing the effects of external disturbance and parameter variations. Unfortunately, robustness with the conventional feedback configuration is achieved only with a high loop gain, which is normally detrimental to stability. The design of intelligent, autonomous machines to perform tasks that are dull, repetitive, hazardous, or that require skill, strength, or dexterity beyond the capability of humans is the ultimate goal of robotics research. This paper prove the robust control using Analog Adaptive Resonance Theorv(ART2) Algorithm about case study.

        세계측지계 변환을 위한 공통점 선정방안에 관한 연구

        본 연구는 지적공부를 세계측지계로 전환하는 과정에서 지적소관청 업무담당자의 판단이 적용될 공통점 선정에 관하여 좀 더 정확한 변환계수 산출 및 좌표변환으로 일필지 연결교차를 최소화하는 최적의 변환계수 산출을 위한 공통점 선정방안을 제시하였다. 본 연구결과에 따른 선정방안을 제시하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 네트워크 RTK 측량 시 상공장애 없이 고정해 값을 얻기까지의 시간인 초기고정시간이 짧은 기준점을 공통점으로 선정하여야 한다. 둘째, 설치일자가 다른 재설치 기준점보다는 경계점좌표 등록당시 최초 설치한 기준점만을 공통점으로 선정하여 균질성을 일원화하여야 한다. 셋째, 사업지구 내의 공통점 분포가 특정부분으로 치우침 없이 외곽 및 중앙 등에 고르게 분포되도록 공통점을 선정하여야 한다. 따라서 이러한 방안을 참고하여 향후 지적소관청의 변환사업 수행 시 공통점 선정업무에 기초자료로서 활용되기를 기대한다. This study suggested the method of common control point selection to minimize a more accurate conversion coefficient calculation and coordinate transformation for optimum transformation coefficients calculation about common control point selection that applies to the discretion of the cadastral competent agency business person in charge by conversion world geodetic system of cadastral record. According to this study results, the method of common control point selection are as follows. First of all, it must be selected the initial fixed time is short reference point which is the time until the sky at the time of network RTK surveying failure fixed without to get the value to a common control point. Second, the date of the installation must be one of the reference points of the other reinstalled at the time coordinate registration of the boundary point the homogeneity selected which the first installation was a reference point only common control point. Thirdly, it must be selected common control point to the common distribution is evenly distributed like blur without outer and central to certain parts of the business district. Therefore, it is expected to be used as basic data to common control point selection work of reference when to perform the conversion business in the future of cadastral competent agency.
