      • Hong Kong Panel Study of Social Dynamics (HKPSSD): Research Designs and Data Overview<sup>+</sup>

        The Hong Kong Panel Study of Social Dynamics (HKPSSD)aims to establisha city-wide representative household panel survey to track socioeconomic changes and its impact on people`s livelihood in Hong Kong. The content covers housing, economic activity and consumption at household levels and education, marriage, fertility, employment, health, daily social activities, mental health and social attitude at individual levels. Three waves of data have been completed in 2011, 2013 and 2015, respectively. 3,214 households, 7,218 adults and 958 children have been interviewed in the benchmark survey (Wave 1), among which 2,165 households, 4,270 adults and 623 children are re-interviewed in the second wave. In addition, a refreshment sample of 1,007 households (including 1,960 adults and 145 children) with new themes was added in 2014, which together with those remaining in Wave 2, are followed in Wave 3 in 2015. This essay introduces the background, research designs, and content coverage of three waves of HKPSSD, and presents some descriptive statistics of relevant variable in the data. HKPSSDis expected to serve an important database for social science research and policy study in Hong Kong, and for comparative analyses of Chinese societies in Hong Kong, Taiwan and mainland China.

        The objective of this study was to manifest the food labelling system that would be of help to consumers’ efficient decision making on food labelling. Out of the contents of the labelling standard of food, etc., recently revised by Notification No. 2000-36 of Korea Food &rug Administration, several mooted points were raised of the type of food, the date of manufacture, the term of distribution, ingredients, raw materials, content, etc. Despite these mooted points of the labelling system of food and so forth, the current regulations of the labelling standard of food and so on plays a substantial role in fulfilling the needs of the most important factors in the labelling regulations from the perspective of the protection of consumers and communication, such as the description of nutritive substances, notabilias, cautions and validity of inferior foods degenerated in the process of distribution by regulating false or exaggerated advertisements, along with intention of prevention of misuse and abuse of foods. As a result, the present study revealed results out of the inquiries into the evaluation of and improvements in the labelling system of food as a communications medium, as follows: First, the nutrients that are stipulated to be included in food labelling are confined to calory, carbohydrate, protein, fat and natrium. However, the description of essential nutritive substances as a communications medium that are closely related to frequently invaded diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, heart disease, hyperlipemia, cerebrovascular diseases, etc. in consideration of their frequency of invasion. Furthermore, as regards the nutritive substances to be included in labelling in relation to the recommended quantity of nutrition per day is limited to vitamin and inorganic substances, which also raise the mooted points that they contain a narrow range of nurients and that the recommended quantity of nutrition should be considered according to the invasion of diseases on consumers. In consequence, it is needed to develop and supply computer programs of the contents of nutrients, expand research projects in compliance with consumers’ diet, provide more public relations of the labelling of nutritive ingredients and supply guiding leaflets and then gradually ameliorate systems and regulations of the labelling of nutritive substances. Second, the labelling of notabilias and cautions as a communications medium awakens consumers a sense of terror or a sense of awakening to provide for dangerous cases on the consumers, serving as one of the most important labelling factors to protect the health and lives of consumers by rationally making choice of food. This regulations may be referred to as a prior or a posterior system that can actively protect harmful elements to consumers by the emergence of the food recall system and the product liability law. Therefore, besides the obligatory labelling of notabilias and cautions of food under the food hygiene law, it is necessitated to revise the related law so that it should include all the factors that may do harm to consumers and get to extend the regulation of labelling notabilias and cautions currently applied to part of foods to all. In addition to it, it is recommended for the government and enterprises to prepare compound and comprehensive measures against it to enhance the reliability of foods for consumers. Third, labelling the length of storage of foods consists of the date of manufacture and that of validity. The former only manifests the date at which a food was made but does not show till what time its quality is maintained, while the latter does not know the date of manufacture and the elapse of time but represents how long its quality can last. Today the government is gradually implementing the autonomous establishment of the term of distribution but the mere description of it has its limits. In consequence, when we take into account the fact that almost all the food enterprises are small in scale and weak in their distribution structure, on a short term basis we are in need of the government support to medium and small food companies, the security of consumers’ reliability on the information of the labelling of the term of distribution, the practice of an awarding system of resident reports of illegal and inferior foods, the operation of a fluctuated price system of validity-overdue foods, extended practice of a food bank for the purpose of efficient management of food materials, and on a long term basis the introduction of a pluralistic validity labelling system which can be harmonized with that of advanced countries.

        This paper deals with stress analysis and deflections for probe stage systems connected to semi-conductor apparatus. Most of the real probe stage systems are composed of three mechanical parts such as slider, X-base and Y-base. In order to calculate the maximum stress and deflection for probe stage systems, three-dimensional finite element model is applied. Numerical results are obtained by changing various design parameters related to the above three parts. Through the numerical simulation, optimal design shape satisfying von Mises yield criterion is presented. The analysis was performed by using commercial COSMOS/M FEA code.

        This study is historical point as Welfare institution, until transition from 1910 to 1945, rule government time, of the Korean Welfare Development process. The purpose of this study are as follow, the first one is to find which theory is the seven development hypotheses about welfare system, second is to find, for building, the Korean Welfare policy and reviewing what suggestion it makes to the future institution. ChapterⅢ is welfare institution growth and its incentive are examined, the historical transition of the welfare institution on the United Kingdom and United States. So as ChapterⅣ is general survey welfare institution of the Japanese colonial policy and its influence. ChapterⅤ is analysis from the Korean welfare transition of the colonial government in term, as a result, of the historical change the Korean welfare policy, its shown that the development theory of public welfare system, which aim to control society based on conspiracy theory, is more convincing. Also, The Korean welfare institution is transplanted, because of the Japanese welfare policy and its system is very draw aza distinction between colonial government people and Japanese. When, the welfare consider laws and institution are legislated and operated for the sake of political convenience and political goals, various laws in very disorderly manner and there many authorities concerned. In many case, the welfare laws and regulations are there only for display, producing no actual. In the future, th Korean welfare policy shall be put in a synthetic institution.

      • 濟州道 沿岸의 水溫 鹽分 變動에 關한 硏究-Ⅰ : 一般的인 變動의 傾向 The tendency of the general fluctuation of temperature and salinity

        The tendency of the general fluctuation of coastal sea surface temperature and salinity in Jeju Island is investigated to get knowledges about the characteristics of the surrounding waters of Jeju Island. The reaults obtained are as follows; 1. The coastal surface water of Jeju Island is covered by Tsushima Warm Water mass through a whole year but the phenomenon of low temperature appear occasionally due to the extension of the Yellow Sea cold water, the occurrence of wind wave and the development of upwelling. 2. The mean minimum temperature which occurs from the late in February to the middle in March is 12.5℃ at the shore sation of Sanji and 14℃ at the shore sation of Seogwipo. The mean miximum temperature which occurs in August is 25℃ at the shore station of Sanji and 27℃ at the shore station of Mara-Do. The irregular variations of the coastal sea surface temperature appear before and after the occurrence time of mean maximum tempenature. However, the most stable season of the coastal sea surface temperature is the spring. 3. Analyzing the varied aspect of the surface water temperature at Sanji and U-Do, it suggests that anticyclonic current may occure in the channel of Jeju in summer. 4. Mara-Do and U-Do are the important shore sation that the former can use to study about the extension of the Yellow Sea cold water and that the latter can use to study about the variation of the strength of the Tsushima Warm Current. 5. The occurrence time of the maximum air and water temperature coincides well because the variation of air temperature influence directly the variation of water temperature at the same time or less than ten days. 6. The minimum salinity at the each shore station in Jeju Island is the range of 27.30-29.00 0/00and it occurs from the late in August to the early in September because of the difference with location. 7. The variation of salinity in the coast of Jeju Island coincides well with the variation of the precipitation in Jeju Island and particularly, the phenomenon which of salinity deerease rapidly in summer is principally caused by the decrease of salinity in the off shore of Jeju and inflow of great quantity of land water from Jeju Island. 8. One of the characteristics of the coastal sea condition of Jeju Island is the rapid fluctuation of temperature and salinity in summer.

      • 濟州島 沿岸의 環境特性에 關한 基礎的 硏究-Ⅰ : 西晷浦 沿岸水의 擴張範圍 The Extension of the Coastal Water off the Seogwipo

        西歸浦 앞바다에 流入되는 陸水는 2m未滿의 얇은 版狀으로 海水위를 덮고 있고, 이 陸水때문에 만들어지는 沿岸水는 鳥島와 蚊島의 中間에서 森島를 잇는 線까지 擴張하여 이곳에서 外海水와 현저한 潮境을 만들며 이 潮境의 外海쪽에는 過流가 자주 나타난다. 이와같이 海況이 西歸浦 앞바다에 많은 回游性 魚類를 集合시키는 原因이 되는 것 같다. The freshwater being inflow in the sea off the Seogwipo diffuse above seawater with thin layer less than two meters and the coastal water off the Seogwipo formed by influence of freshwater is extented to the line connected between Sam Do and the middle point between Mun Do and Jo Do. Accordingly, the sharp discontinuous line of salinity appear in the out side edge of the coastal water and eddy current, frequently occur in offshore of Seogwipo that is out side of the discontinuous line. Many pelagic fish seem to aggregate in this area bacause of these oceanic conditions.

      • 부산 ·경남지역 노인환자의 질병양상

        1992년 8월 26일에 실시한 보건복지부의 "환자조사" 자료를 이용하여 부산시와 경상남도에 소재한 의료기관에서 의료서비스를 받은 65세 이상 노인들의 질병양상을 분석하였다. 대상자는 입원환자의 경우 1992년 6월1일부터 6월 30일까지 퇴원한 환자 8,333명이었고 외래환자의 경우는 조사 당일의 환자 23,776명이었다, This study was carried out to idnetify diseases pattern of elders aged 65 years and over which may be used as basic data for developing measures to cope with health care problems of elders. The subjects of this study were 8,333 elders discharged from hospitals and clinics located in Pusan City and Kyungsangnam-do during June 1 to June 30, 1992, and 23,776 elders who visited the hospitals and clinics in Pusan City and Kyungsangnam-do for medical care on August 26, 1992. A file of data for this study was provided by the Ministry of Health and Welfare which conducted A National Patients Census in 1992. Diseases pattern were classified with three-digit categories of International Diseases Classification revised in 1975. The top ten common diseases of discharged elders were that the first cataract (4.70%), the second diabetes mellitus (2.54%), the third conscussion (2.53%), the fourth fracture of tibia and fibula (2.18%), the fifth cerebral laceration and contusion (2.16%), the sixth sprains and strains of other and unspecified parts of back (1.80%), the seventh essential hypertension (1.78%), the eighth contusion of low limb and of other unspecified sites (1.76%), the nineth acute appendicitis (1.58%), the tenth chronic airways obstruction, loot elsewhere classified (1.54%). The spells of these top ten common diseases were 22.6% of the total spells of the subjects. The top ten common diseases of outpatient elders were that the first gastritis and duo-denitis (4.02%), the second essential hypertension (3.14%), the third other and unspecified disorders of back (3.10%), the fourth diseases of hard tissues of teeth (3.04%), the fifth inflammatory disease of cervix, vagina and vulva (2.99%), the sixth diseases of pulp and periapical tissues (2.69%), the seventh acute nasopharyngitis (2.16%), the eighth sprains and strains of other and unspecified parts of back (2.01%), the nineth gingival and periodontal diseases (1.80%), the tenth contact dermatitis and other eczema (1.71%). The spells of these top ten common diseases were 26.7% of the total spells of the subjects. Considering diseases pattern of elders, it can be inferred that it is important for elders to take nutritionally balanced diet, to have healthy lifestyle, to practice physical excrcises and to organize effective health programs for the secondary prevention in order to live life long actively.
