        간호대학생의 삶의 목적이 삶의 질에 미치는 영향

        Purpose: The study was done to examine whether consciousness of calling and life satisfaction have a mediating effect in the relationship between nursing students’ purpose of life and their quality of life. Methods: The participants were 171 nursing students studying in two colleges of nursing located in Chungcheong and Gyeonggi Province. Measurements included the purpose in life questionnaire, Korea-version WHOQOL-BREF questionnaire, brief calling scale and satisfaction with life scale. Data were analyzed using descriptive analysis and multiple regression techniques with SPSS 24.0. Mediation analysis was performed according to the Baron and Kenny method and Sobel test. Results: There were significant correlations among purpose in life, consciousness of calling, satisfaction with life and quality of life. Consciousness of calling and satisfaction with life showed perfect mediating effects in the relationship between purpose in life and quality of life. Conclusion: In this study, nursing students’ purpose in life had significant influences on nursing students’ quality of life via calling consciousness and satisfaction with life. Therefore, to enhance quality of life for nursing students, it is necessary to build effective strategies and education programs to enhance nursing students’ purpose in life, consciousness of calling and satisfaction with life.

        ‘삶의 목적’(Purpose in life)의 도덕교육적 함의

        삶의 목적이 도덕 교과의 중요한 학습 목표이자 내용임에도 불구하고, 삶의 목적을 도덕교육 관점에서 체계적으로 다룬 연구는 거의 없다. 이에 이 논문에서는 삶의 목적에 관한 최근의 심리학적 연구 결과를 개관하고, 그것이 도덕교육에 주는 시사점을 규명하고자 한다. 이를 위해 이 논문에서는 삶의 목적의 개념을 정의하고, 최적의 아동 및 청소년 발달에서 삶의 목적이 수행하는 기능을 분석하며, 아동기와 청소년기에 삶의 목적이 발달하는 과정과 그 효과를 규명하고, 삶의 목적을 함양하기 위한 적절한 지도 방법을 제안하였다. Nowadays there is an abundance of research demonstrating obvious benefits associated with having a sense of purpose in life. Purpose in life is a long-term, forward-looking intention to accomplish aims that are meaningful to the self and of consequence to the world beyond the self. Despite the fact that the purpose in life is an important learning goal and contents of moral education, there are few studies that systematically deal with the purpose in life from the perspective of moral education. Therefore I wanted to present an overview of recent psychological researches on the purpose in life and identify their implications for moral education. Specifically speaking, this article intended to define the concept of purpose in life, to analyze the functions of purpose in life regarding the optimal youth development, to identify the process and effects of the development of purpose in life in childhood and adolescence, and to suggest appropriate teaching methods to cultivate sense of purpose in life among students.

        학교운동부 집단 성원의 인생에 대한 목적의식이 만족도에 미치는 영향

        본 연구는 학교운동부 및 스포츠동아리 소속 성원들이 가지고 있는 인생의 목적의식과 만족도간의 관계를 검토하기 위해서 대학교 운동부 18개 팀과 스포츠 동아리 16개 팀에 소속하는 남자부원 447명을 대상으로 佐藤(1985)의 인생의 목적척도와 5항목의 만족도 설문을 실시했다. 인생의 목적척도 득점의 전체 평균치를 구하고, 평균치보다 높은 독점의 피험자들을 상위군, 낮은 득점의 피험자들을 하위군으로 분류했다. 또한, 운동부 집단과 동아리 집단은 그 성격이 다르므로, 각 군의 만족도 득점을 2(인생의 목적상위군, 하위군)×2(운동부, 동아리)요인 분산분석을 실시했다. 분석을 통해 얻어진 결과는 다음과 같다. 인생의 목적의식이 높은 성원들은 낮은 성원들보다 운동기능 향상의 기회와 연습시간에 대한 만족도가 높은 것으로 나타났다. 그러나, 개인의 운동기능, 팀의 운동기능, 운동부에서의 생활에서 코치, 부원, 그리고 일반적인 모든 면에 관한 만족도는 운동부 소속성원들의 경우 목적의식의 정도에 따른 차이가 없지만, 동아리 소속성원들은 인생의 목적의식이 높은 성원들이 낮은 성원들보다 높은 만족도를 가지고 있다. 이상의 결과로부터, "운동부와 스포츠 동아리 성원들의 만족도는 인생의 목적의식이 높을수록 높으며, 이러한 경향은 집단의 특성과 만족도의 종류에 따라 다르다"는 결론을 얻었다. The purpose of this study was to clarify the relationship between the level of purpose in life and satisfaction in school athletic teams and recreational sport teams. The subjects for this study were 447 male of the 34 university sports teams(18 elite sport teams, 16 recreational sport teams), executed the scale of Saito' purpose in life and a five-item questionnaire to assess the satisfaction. After get total mean of the scale of purpose in life, subjects were divided into two group ; high group who scored higher than total means score of purpose in life, low group who scored lower than total means score of purpose in life. Considering differ from that characteristic of elite sport teams and recreational sport teams, data were analyzed through a 2(elite, recreational sport teams)×2( high group, low purpose in life)ANOVA. The results of the analysis are as follows: The member of high group in purpose in life showed higher satisfaction than those of the low group about opportunity to improvement of motor skills, practice time, individual Motor skills, every respect on coach, member and general in life of sport teams. Although× there were no differences according to the level of purpose in life about motor skills of teams, but the member of high group in purpose in life showed higher satisfaction level than those of the low group in recreational sport teams.

        Income satisfaction is less predictive of life satisfaction in individuals who believe their lives have meaning or purpose: A 94-nation study

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Using a sample of 97,739 individuals across 94 countries, this study sought to examine whether religiosity and purpose in life moderate the relationship between income satisfaction and life satisfaction. The results of multilevel modeling showed that whereas religiosity was not a significant moderator of this relationship, purpose significantly moderated the relationship between income satisfaction and life satisfaction. The positive relationship between the two variables was weaker among people with a purpose in life than those without it. People who believe their lives have meaning or purpose are likely to deemphasize the role of materialistic aspirations, focus more on intrinsic pursuits, and have more mental resources to cope with financial challenges.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> Religiosity was not a moderator of the relationship between income satisfaction and life satisfaction. </LI> <LI> Purpose in life was a significant moderator of this relationship. </LI> <LI> The relationship was weaker among people with a purpose in life. </LI> <LI> So purpose in life mitigates the negative relationship between the two variables. </LI> </UL> </P>

        의미치료가 비행청소년의 우울, 삶의 목적 및 비행충동에 미치는 효과

        The purpose of this study is to investigate the causal relationship among the depression, purpose in life and delinquency impulsivity of juvenile delinquents, and to explore the effects of Logotherapy in juvenile delinquents. The scales used in this study were Beck Depression Inventory-Korean Version, Purpose in Life Test and Delinquency Impulsivity Scale. First, it was assumed that the depression and the purpose in life effect the delinquency impulsivity, especially the purpose in life's effectiveness is larger than depression's effectiveness. Data used in this analysis were based on a scales collected from 265 juvenile delinquents at the Jeonju Probation Center and the Goonsan Probation Center. The result of path analysis, the purpose in life was an important mediator between the depression and delinquency impulsivity. Next, participants who scored 92 or less of Purpose in Life Test among 265 juvenile delinquents were assigned to 7 in the Logotherapy Group and 7 in the Waiting List Control Group to explore the effects of Logotherapy. After 10 logotherapy sessions, purpose in life of the therapy group were increased more than of the waiting list control group, depression and delinquency impulsivity were decreased more than of the waiting list control group. Finally, the meanings and the limitations of the study, and the suggestion for the future study were discussed.

        초기청소년이 지각한 부모양육방식과 삶의 목표 관계에서 자아정체감의 매개효과 연구

        The purpose of this study is to verify the mediating effects of self-identity in the relationship between early youths’ perceived parenting styles and purpose of life. Data from the 7th-year panel data of the Korea Child Youth Penal Survey in which 1,675 respondents who were the first grade middle school participated. Results showed that in terms of parenting styles, ‘affection’, ‘excessive expectation’, and ‘excessive intervention’ had significant effects on youths’ purpose of life. Self-identity significantly influenced their purpose of life. It was found that self-identity played significant partial mediating effects in the relationship in which affection and excessive expectation that were subcategories of youths’ perceived parenting styles affected youths’ purpose of life. In particular, excessive intervention had a negative effect on youths’ purpose of life. Considering that there was no mediating effect of self-identity, it implies that endeavors to reduce parents’ intervention may help early youths to achieve their self-identity and to have their purpose in life. Based on these findings, this study suggests that parents have unconditional affection and high expectation for their teenage children but should not excessively intervene their teenage children. These parents’ behavior will enable their teenage children to have high self-identity, design their life, and have a purpose for life. 본 연구는 초기청소년이 지각한 부모양육방식, 자아정체감, 삶의 목표 간의 관계 및 자아정체감의 매개효과 검증을 목적으로 하였다, 이를 위해 한국아동․청소년조사(KCYPS) 패널데이터 7차년도 중학교 1학년 1675명 대상의 설문조사자료를 활용하였다. 주요 연구결과를 보면, 응답 청소년이 지각한 부모양육방식 중 애정, 과잉기대, 과잉간섭은 자아정체감과 삶의 목표에 유의한 영향력을 보였으며, 자아정체감 역시 삶의 목표에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 자아정체감은 응답청소년이 지각한 부모양육방식 중 애정과 과잉기대가 삶의 목표에 미치는 영향관계에서 부분매개효과를 가지는 것으로 나타났다. 특히, 부모의 과잉간섭이 청소년의 삶의 목표에 부정적인 효과를 가지며, 자아정체감이 의미 있는 매개효과를 보이지 않음을 감안할 때 부모의 과잉간섭을 줄이는 노력이 초기청소년 자녀의 자아정체감 형성과 삶의 목표설정에 긍정적 영향력을 줄 수 있음을 보여주었다. 이에 따라 부모는 자녀에 대해 무조건적인 애정을 가지면서도 과도한 간섭을 하지 않는 가운데 높은 기대를 부여한다면 청소년기 자녀의 자아정체감을 높여서 그들이 인생을 설계하고 목표를 구상하는데 긍정적인 역할을 수행할 수 있도록 시사점을 제시하였다.

        삶의 목적이 외상 후 성장에 미치는 영향에서 지혜의 매개효과

        본 연구는 삶의 목적 추구와 외상 후 성장의 관계에서 지혜의 매개효과가 어떻게 나타나는지를 검증하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 전국에 거주하는 성인 367명을 대상으로 삶의 목적 척도, 외상 후 성장 척도, 한국판 지혜 척도를 사용하여 설문조사를 실시하였다. 연구모형의 검증을 위해서는 AMOS 24.0에서 경로분석을 실시하고 간접효과의 통계적 유의성을 확인하기 위해 부트스트랩 방법을 사용하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째 변인들 간의 상관관계 분석 결과, 삶의 목적, 외상 후 성장, 지혜 사이에 유의한 정적 상관이 있었다. 삶의 목적이 높을수록 지혜가 높게 나타났으며, 삶의 목적이 높을수록 외상 후 성장이 높게 나타났다. 또한 지혜가 높을수록 외상 후 성장이 높게 나타났다. 둘째 구조모형을 통해 삶의 목적과 외상 후 성장의 관계에서 지혜가 부분 매개 역할을 하고 있음을 검증하였다. 본 연구 결과는 외상 후 성장을 더욱 촉진시키기 위해 삶의 목적을 추구하는 과정에서 지혜를 높이는 것이 인생에서 경험할 수 있는 고통스러운 외상 경험을 극복하고 수용하는데 도움이 될 수 있다는 가능성을 발견했다는 점에서 이 연구의 의의가 있다. This study explored how the mediation effect of wisdom appears in the relationship between the pursuit of purpose of life and posttraumatic growth. To this end, 367 adults were surveyed using the purpose scale of life, post-traumatic growth scale, and the Korean version of wisdom scale. To examine the study model, we conducted path analysis in AMOS 24.0 and used bootstrap methods to verify the statistical significance of indirect effects. The results of the study are as follows. First, the correlation analysis showed significant statistical correlations between life purpose, post traumatic growth, and wisdom. The higher the purpose of life, the higher the wisdom, and the higher the purpose of life, the higher the posttraumatic growth. Also, the higher the wisdom, the higher the post traumatic growth. Second, through the structural model, we verified that wisdom plays a partial role in the relationship between life purpose and post traumatic growth. This study is significant in that it found the possibility that increasing wisdom in the pursuit of life's purpose to further promote post-traumatic growth can help overcome and accept painful trauma experiences in life.

      • 생명존중교육프로그램이 초등학생의 죽음불안, 자살위험성, 삶의 의미에 미치는 효과

        This study aimed to reinforce meaning of a precious life and moreover to achieve understanding of the positive effect against elementary school students`s suicide and their apprehension of The effects of life respect education program on attitudes toward life and death of elementary school student. This study`s subjects were conducted a survey dividing an experimental and regulated groups with two classes of 4th grades primary school students in A city. This study operated 8 sessions of life respect education program. This life respect education program included value of life, reinforcement of meaningful life, understanding of loss, protection of suicide and adoption of loss management. This program was based on cognitive and emotional aspect of two books that are `Arts of life program for primary school students` by Morganett(1994) and `Better life` by Lee(2006). To analyze the result, this study proceeded ANCOVA which used subordinated clause for calculating result test points with controlling points of advanced test. This study resulted as below. First, life respect education program worked positive effect for elementary school students`s Death Anxiety and Purpose in life. Second, life respect education program didn`t affect on reducing Suicide Probability. This study was expected to use and develop understanding of meaningful life and reducing death anxiety for the elementary school students in practical education.

        A life is a series of choices, and a good choice can bring us happiness and health, vital to a decent living. Doing a good choice needs wisdom. Wisdom is defined as an ability to exercise a good judgement about important but uncertain matters in the course of one's daily life. There is a saying that one should live a half of one's life for himself or herself, and another half of one's life for others. The first half of one's life is to live a first and second dimensional life that primarily focuses on one's own pleasure of body and on pursuing one's success and fame. This is a life of one's interest and self-centeredness. The second half of one's life is to live a third and fourth dimensional life that mainly focuses on making others enjoyable & happy as well as on pursuing a spiritual growth. I made two crucial choices after months of deep thoughts since I had retired at 65 from a teaching at a university for 27 years. First, if my life before retirement was about the first and second dimensional life, I have decided to live a life of the third and fourth dimensional one after retirement. For this purpose, I have decided to change my area of study from journalism & mass communication before retirement into positive psychology that deals with happiness and optimal human functioning. To live a third and fourth dimensional life to make others happy, I have decided to be a messenger of happiness. For this, I have decided to send happiness messages to close friends, former students, and others once a month. Having started sending the happiness messages from July 2008 to August 2011 (3 years and 1 month), I revised the 38 portions into 35, and published it into a book, Happiness Messenger, in December 2011. And, I continue to write, and send the happiness messages every month, making it 42th as of January 2012. The second crucial choice I made was to act with my wife in all activities of the daily life. As a saying goes, happy wife guarantees happy life, I have decided to respect, and do together in every activity of the daily life like being with her in public meetings, public services, writing, helping to make my wife happy.

        학문 목적 한국어 학습자를 위한 대학생활 기반 문화 교재 개발 연구

        The purpose of this study was to develop the practical educational materials based campus life for cultural education necessary for those, learning the Korean language for academic purpose, to adapt themselves to the campus culture of Korea and improve the leaning competency. As the government has mapped out the policy to attract foreign students at a policy level, there has been an increase in the number of people who Korean language for academic purpose among the students entering domestic university. However, the results of investigation indicated that there was the adverse effect, considering that many people learning the Korean language for academic purpose showed sluggish academic performance or dropped out right after they entered domestic universities, raising the concern. Therefore, campus life-based cultural education needs to be provided separately, so that people who Korean language for academic purpose can understand the norms, mode of conduct, and custom which they have to observed, and it is necessary to create an environment conducive to promoting systematic cultural education based on development of educational materials. In this study, we discussed the development of cultural educational materials practical and useful in light of the characteristics and level of learners. We examined current situations and problems through analysis with existing studies and cultural educational materials, and conducted the analysis of requirements and needs of learners and professors, thus exploring the basic course for improvement that could be achieved when the cultural educational materials were developed. For successful educational culture, the campus life-based cultural educational materials may be developed for those learning the Korean language for academic purpose in the following way: First, the education integrating the cultural education and linguistic education should be pursued while organizing each unit by taking the content-based approach on the basis of campus life. Second, the educational materials should allow for the academic activities in view of the characteristics of those learning the Korean language for academic purpose. Third, the educational materials should be practical educational materials that can provide motivation to learners. Fourth, educational materials should present the activities comparing the culture so as to help build the critical thinking of culture and expand the ability for intercultural communication through the learning of culture. Fifth, the educational materials suited for the level of learners should be developed, and furthermore, the stage of evaluation that assesses the level of understanding after cultural learning would need to be presented together. Based on aforesaid principles, this study organized and presented the learning items corresponding to a total of 8 units, along with the actual cases of contents for each unit. The results of this study are meaningful in that this study organized practical teaching items and educational contents through development of campus life-based cultural educational materials. Through that, learners can learn practical cultural details based on more systematic process, which would lead to minimization of burden on their teachers and promotion of efficient cultural education. 본 연구는 학문 목적 한국어 학습자를 대상으로 한국의 대학 문화에 안정적으로 적응하여 학업 수행 능력을 높이기 위해 필요한 문화 교육을 실행하기 위하여 대학생활 기반의 실용적인 문화 교재를 개발하는 데 목적을 두고있다. 정부 정책의 일환으로 외국인 유학생의 유치를 확대하는 제도가 마련되면서 국내 대학에 진학하는 학문 목적 한국어 학습자가 꾸준히 증가하고 있다. 그러나 조사 결과에 따르면 많은 수의 학습자들이 국내 대학 진입과 동시에 학업 부진이나 중도 포기하는 부작용이 발생하여 우려의 목소리가 높다. 때문에 한국의 대학 사회 내에서 성공적인 의사소통을 이루기 위해서는학문 목적 한국어 학습자로서 반드시 지켜야 하는 규범이나 행동 양식, 관습들을 이해할 수 있도록 대학생활 기반의 문화 교육이 별도의 교육으로 이루어져야 하며, 교재 개발까지 이어져 체계적인 문화 교육의 환경을 마련하는 것이 필요하다. 이에 본고는 학습자의 특성과 수준을 고려하여 실제적이고 유용한 문화교재 개발에 관해 논의하였다. 기존 연구와 문화 교재 분석을 통해 현황과문제점을 고찰하였고, 학습자와 교수자의 요구분석을 실시하여 문화 교재개발 시 어떤 점들이 새롭게 보완되어야 할 것인지에 대한 방향성을 모색하였다. 성공적인 문화 교육을 위해 학문 목적 한국어 학습자를 대상으로 대학생활 기반의 문화 교재를 개발하기 위해서는 첫째, 대학생활 기반의 주제중심 접근법(Content-based Approach)을 바탕으로 단원을 구성하되, 문화 교육과 언어 교육의 통합 교육을 지향해야 한다. 둘째, 학문 목적 학습자의 특성을 고려하여 학문적 활동들을 수반하는 교재여야 한다. 셋째, 학습자에게 동기부여가 될 수 있는 실제성이 있는 교재여야 한다. 넷째, 문화 학습을 통해문화에 관한 비판적 사고를 키우고, 문화 간 의사소통 능력을 함양할 수 있는 문화 비교 활동이 제시되어야 한다. 다섯째, 학습자의 수준에 적합한 교재를 개발해야 하며 문화 학습 이후 이해 여부를 확인할 수 있는 평가 단계를 함께 제시해야 한다. 이러한 원리를 바탕으로 본 연구에서는 총 8과에 해당하는 교수요목을 구성하여 제시하였으며 단원에 따른 내용 구성을 실례로 제시하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 대학생활 기반의 문화 교재 개발을 통해 실제적인 교수요목과 교육내용을 구성하였다는 점에서 의의를 가진다. 이를 통해 학습자들은 보다 체계적인 과정 속에서 실제적인 문화 내용을 학습할 수 있으며, 그들을 가르치는 교사의 부담도 최소화되어 효과적인 문화 교육을 진행할수 있을 것이라 기대한다.
