An Encrypted Speech Retrieval Scheme Based on Long Short-Term Memory Neural Network and Deep Hashing

        ( Qiu-yu Zhang ),( Yu-zhou Li ),( Ying-jie Hu ) 한국인터넷정보학회 2020 KSII Transactions on Internet and Information Syst Vol.14 No.6

Due to the explosive growth of multimedia speech data, how to protect the privacy of speech data and how to efficiently retrieve speech data have become a hot spot for researchers in recent years. In this paper, we proposed an encrypted speech retrieval scheme based on long short-term memory (LSTM) neural network and deep hashing. This scheme not only achieves efficient retrieval of massive speech in cloud environment, but also effectively avoids the risk of sensitive information leakage. Firstly, a novel speech encryption algorithm based on 4D quadratic autonomous hyperchaotic system is proposed to realize the privacy and security of speech data in the cloud. Secondly, the integrated LSTM network model and deep hashing algorithm are used to extract high-level features of speech data. It is used to solve the high dimensional and temporality problems of speech data, and increase the retrieval efficiency and retrieval accuracy of the proposed scheme. Finally, the normalized Hamming distance algorithm is used to achieve matching. Compared with the existing algorithms, the proposed scheme has good discrimination and robustness and it has high recall, precision and retrieval efficiency under various content preserving operations. Meanwhile, the proposed speech encryption algorithm has high key space and can effectively resist exhaustive attacks.

Comparison of Liver Transplantation and Liver Resection for Hepatocellular Carcinoma Patients with Portal Vein Tumor Thrombus Type I and Type II

        Jia-Yu Lv,Ning-Ning Zhang,Ya-Wei Du,Ying Wu,Tian-Qiang Song,Ya-Min Zhang,Yan Qu,Yu-Xin Liu,Jie Gu,Ze-Yu Wang,Yi-Bo Qiu,Bing Yang,Da-Zhi Tian,Qing-Jun Guo,Li Zhang,Ji-San Sun,Yan Xie,Zheng-Lu Wang,Xin 연세대학교의과대학 2021 Yonsei medical journal Vol.62 No.1

Purpose: The aim of this study was to compare the efficacy of liver transplantation (LT) and liver resection (LR) for hepatocellularcarcinoma (HCC) patients with portal vein tumor thrombus (PVTT) and to investigate risk factors affecting prognosis. Materials and Methods: A total of 94 HCC patients with PVTT type I (segmental PVTT) and PVTT type II (lobar PVTT) were involvedand divided into LR (n=47) and LT groups (n=47). Recurrence-free survival (RFS) and overall survival (OS) were comparedbefore and after inverse probability of treatment weighting (IPTW). Prognostic factors for RFS and OS were explored. Results: Two treatment groups were well-balanced using IPTW. In the entire cohort, LT provided a better prognosis than LR. Among patients with PVTT type I, RFS was better with LT (p=0.039); OS was not different significantly between LT and LR(p=0.093). In subgroup analysis of PVTT type I patients with α-fetoprotein (AFP) levels >200 ng/mL, LT elicited significantly longermedian RFS (18.0 months vs. 2.1 months, p=0.022) and relatively longer median OS time (23.6 months vs. 9.8 months, p=0.065). Among patients with PVTT type II, no significant differences in RFS and OS were found between LT and LR (p=0.115 and 0.335,respectively). Multivariate analyses showed treatment allocation (LR), tumor size (>5 cm), AFP and aspartate aminotransferase(AST) levels to be risk factors of RFS and treatment allocation (LR), AFP and AST as risk factors for OS. Conclusion: LT appeared to afford a better prognosis for HCC with PVTT type I than LR, especially in patients with AFP levels>200 ng/mL.

Antibacterial characteristics of glycinin basic polypeptide against Staphylococcus aureus

        Jie Yang,Gui-Jin Sun,Ying-Qiu Li,Kai-Yu Cui,Hai Zhen Mo 한국식품과학회 2016 Food Science and Biotechnology Vol.25 No.5

This paper aims to study the antibacterial action of glycinin basic polypeptide (GBP) on Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus). Herein, the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of GBP against S. aureus was 0.2 mg/mL. Atomic force microscopy (AFM) imaging showed that GBP seriously damaged the morphology of the S. aureus cells. GBP (0.8 mg/mL) enhanced the relative release of β- galactosidase to 25.48% when compared to the control. The activity of the respiratory-chain dehydrogenase of S. aureus decreased with increasing GBP concentration. GBP could cause a leakage of intracellular substances. Additionally, sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE) demonstrated that S. aureus bacterial proteins decreased in response to the time period of treating the bacterial cells with GBP. These results indicate that GBP could remarkably inhibit S. aureus and is, therefore, a potential food preservative.

        Hui Jie Hu,Zhen Wei Zhang,Yu Liang,Yan Yan Luo,Qi Feng Dou,Cui Ping Song,Hui Min Zhang,Ying Zhao,Guang Run Tian,Ke Zhang,Qiu Fang Mao,Jing Gui Song,Soren Rittig,Jian Guo Wen 대한배뇨장애요실금학회 2021 International Neurourology Journal Vol.25 No.1

Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the prevalence, risk factors, and effects of primary nocturnal enuresis (PNE) on physical and mental health in young adults in mainland China. Methods: An anonymous questionnaire was used to collect information including the sociodemographic characteristics, history of PNE, family history, daytime voiding symptoms, Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) scores, Self-Esteem Scale (SES), and Self-Rating Depression Scale (SDS). A total of 22,500 university students from 23 provinces and 368 cities in mainland China were included. Results: In total, 21,082 questionnaires were collected, and 20,345 of them qualified for statistical analysis. The PNE prevalence was 1.17%, and the distribution of monosymptomatic nocturnal enuresis (MNE) and nonmonosymptomatic nocturnal enuresis (NMNE) was 66.1% and 33.9%, respectively. In total, 28% of respondents with PNE reported bedwetting daily, 31.6% between 1 and 7 times weekly, and 40.4% between 1 and 4 times monthly; 80% of PNE cases had no history of treatment. The prevalence of PNE in patients with a family history, frequency, urgency, urinary incontinence, and recurrent urinary tract infections was significantly higher than in those without these conditions (P<0.001). PNE was significantly correlated with the PSQI total score (sleep quality) (P=0.011). The SES score was lower and the SDS was higher (P<0.001) in the PNE group than in those without PNE. Conclusions: In mainland China, the PNE prevalence among young adults was found to be high, and PNE had significant effects on physical and mental health. Risk factors included a family history, daytime voiding symptoms, and lack of treatment.

Isoindolin-1-ones from the stems of Nicotiana tabacum and their antiviral activities

        Guang-Yu Yang,Jia-Meng Dai,Zhen-Jie Li,Jin Wang,Feng-Xian Yang,Xin Liu,Jing Li,Qian Gao,Xue-Mei Li,Yin-Ke Li,Wei-Guang Wang,Min Zhou,Qiu-Fen Hu 대한약학회 2022 Archives of Pharmacal Research Vol.45 No.8

In previous studies, several isoindolin-1-oneanalogs that exhibited signifi cant anti-tobacco mosaic virus(anti-TMV) activities were isolated from Nicotiana tabacum . Since gene-editing mutants provide a new sample for thediscovery of active metabolites, we focused on the stems ofYN-18–23 (a mutant N. tabacum for gene editing with thealkaloid metabolic pathway cultivated by Yunnan TobaccoCompany), which led to the isolation of four new ( 1–4 )and four known ( 5–8 ) isoindolin-1-ones. To the best of ourknowledge, nicindole C ( 3 ) is the fi rst subclass of isoindolin-1-one bearing a pentacyclic ketone, while nicindole D ( 4 )is the fi rst example of isoindolin-1-one bearing a methylpyridin-2-(1 H )-one moiety. Compounds 1–4 were testedfor their anti-TMV activities, and the results revealed thatcompounds 1 , 3 , and 4 exhibited high anti-TMV activities atconcentrations of 20 μM with inhibition rates of 48.6, 42.8,and 71.5%, respectively. These rates are higher than the inhibitionrate of the positive control (33.2%). The mechanisticstudy of compound 4 , which had the highest anti-TMV activityrevealed that increased potentiation of defense-related enzyme activities and downregulation of expression of theNtHsp70 protein may induce resistance in tobacco againstthe viral pathogen TMV. Molecular docking studies alsorevealed that the isoindolin-1-one substructure is fundamentalfor anti-TMV activity. The methyl-pyridin-2-(1 H )-onemoiety in compound 4 and the 2-oxopropyl groups in compounds1 and 3 at the N -2 position may increase inhibitoryactivities. This study of the structure–activity relationshipis helpful for fi nding new anti-TMV activity inhibitors. Tostudy whether the isoindolin-1-ones have broader antiviralactivities, compounds 1–4 were also tested for their antirotavirusactivities. Compound 4 exhibited high anti-rotavirusactivity with a therapeutic index (TI) value of 20.7. This TI value is close to that of the positive control (20.2).

Bioactive Compounds and Chemical Biology : Purification and Characterization of Thermostable Agarase from Bacillus sp. BI-3, a Thermophilic Bacterium Isolated from Hot Spring

( Jiang Li ),( Yu Jie Sha ),( Dewi Seswita Zilda ),( Qiu Shi Hu ),( Pei Qing He ) 한국미생물 · 생명공학회 2014 Journal of microbiology and biotechnology Vol.24 No.1

An extracellular agarase was purified from Bacillus sp. BI-3, a thermophilic agar-degrading bacterium isolated from a hot spring in Indonesia. The purified agarase revealed a single band on sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis, with an apparent molecular mass of 58 kDa. The optimum pH and temperature of the agarase were 6.4 and 70oC, respectively. The activity of the agarase was stable at high temperatures, and more than 50% activity was retained at 80oC for 15 min. Furthermore, the enzyme was stable in the pH range of 5.8?8.0, and more than 60% of the residual activity was retained. Significant activation of the agarase was observed in the presence of K+, Na+, Ca2+, Mg2+, and Sr2+; on the other hand, Ba2+, Zn2+, Cu2+, Mn2+, Co2+, Fe2+, and EDTA inhibited or inactivated the enzyme activity. The components of the hydrolytic product analyzed by thin-layer chromatography showed that the agarase mainly produced neoagarobiose. This study is the first to present evidence of agarolytic activity in aerobic thermophilic bacteria.

ATM Signaling Pathway Is Implicated in the SMYD3-mediated Proliferation and Migration of Gastric Cancer Cells

        Lei Wang,Qiu-Tong Wang,Yu-Peng Liu,Qing-Qing Dong,Hai-Jie Hu,Zhi Miao,Shuang Li,Yong Liu,Hao Zhou,Tong-Cun Zhang,Wen-Jian Ma,Xuegang Luo 대한위암학회 2017 Journal of gastric cancer Vol.17 No.4

Purpose: We previously found that the histone methyltransferase suppressor of variegation, enhancer of zeste, trithorax and myeloid-nervy-deformed epidermal autoregulatory factor-1 domain-containing protein 3 (SMYD3) is a potential independent predictive factor or prognostic factor for overall survival in gastric cancer patients, but its roles seem to differ from those in other cancers. Therefore, in this study, the detailed functions of SMYD3 in cell proliferation and migration in gastric cancer were examined. Materials and Methods: SMYD3 was overexpressed or suppressed by transfection with an expression plasmid or siRNA, and a wound healing migration assay and Transwell assay were performed to detect the migration and invasion ability of gastric cancer cells. Additionally, an MTT assay and clonogenic assay were performed to evaluate cell proliferation, and a cell cycle analysis was performed by propidium iodide staining. Furthermore, the expression of genes implicated in the ataxia telangiectasia mutated (ATM) pathway and proteins involved in cell cycle regulation were detected by polymerase chain reaction and western blot analyses. Results: Compared with control cells, gastric cancer cells transfected with si-SMYD3 showed lower migration and invasion abilities (P<0.05), and the absence of SMYD3 halted cells in G2/M phase and activated the ATM pathway. Furthermore, the opposite patterns were observed when SMYD3 was elevated in normal gastric cells. Conclusions: To the best of our knowledge, this study provides the first evidence that the absence of SMYD3 could inhibit the migration, invasion, and proliferation of gastric cancer cells and halt cells in G2/M phase via the ATM-CHK2/p53-Cdc25C pathway. These findings indicated that SMYD3 plays crucial roles in the proliferation, migration, and invasion of gastric cancer cells and may be a useful therapeutic target in human gastric carcinomas.

Review of the Preparation and Structures of Si Nanowires, Ge Quantum Dots and Their Composites

        Xiaokang Weng,Jie Yang,Dongze Li,Rongfei Wang,Feng Qiu,Chong Wang,Yu Yang 성균관대학교(자연과학캠퍼스) 성균나노과학기술원 2019 NANO Vol.14 No.4

Because the motion of charge carriers in nanowires and quantum dots is restricted within nanoscale in two and three dimensions, respectively, both nanowires and quantum dots exhibit many excellent optoelectronic properties. Particularly, with the advantage of being compatible with Si integrated circuits, Silicon nanowires (SiNWs) and germanium quantum dots (GeQDs) have been extensively studied in the past few decades. In order to explore novel physical properties, the integration of SiNWs and GeQDs has attracted great attention recently. In this paper, recent researches on the preparation methods and structures of SiNWs, GeQDs and their composites are reviewed, respectively. The synthesis of SiNWs with random distribution and ordered arrays by using vapor–liquid–solid growth mechanism and metal-assisted chemical etching technique is firstly summarized. Some special structures of SiNWs are also discussed. Furthermore, the development of some novel structures of GeQDs for further improving their optical properties is reviewed. Finally, the growth mechanism and structure evolution of SiNWs/GeQDs composites are illustrated from the view of theory and experiment. The strain inGe shell layers and SiNWs, the relationship between Ge growth mode and SiNW diameter, and the distribution of GeQDs on the radial and axial directions of SiNWs are discussed in detail. The research about the growth of SiNWs/GeQDs composite structures is in its early stage, so there are many questions that need to be resolved in future.
