이단계 혐기성/호기성 반응기를 이용한 Reactive Blue 114의 생분해

난분해성 안트라퀴논계 염료인 Reactive Blue 114를 이단계 혐기성/호기성 반응기를 이용하여 분해하고자 하였다. 혐기성 반응기로 Upflow Anaerobic Sludge Blanket (UASB) 반응기를 이용하였고, 호기성 반응기로는 전통적인 활성슬러지조를 사용하였다. 혐기성 UASB 반응기는 2개월 동안 염료를 투입하지 않고 start-up 과정을 거친 후 염료를 투입하여 염료 농도의 영향과 수리학적 체류시간(HRT)의 영향을 조사하였다. 염료 제거율은 염료농도가 증가하거나 HRT가 감소할수록 감소하였다. 혐기성 UASB 반응기로 측정한 최대 염료제거속도는 52 mg/L · day이었다. 1차 혐기성 처리수를 호기성 반응기를 이용하여 처리하였을 때 색도 기준으로 염료 제거는 관찰되지 않았다. HPLC를 이용하여 1차 혐기성 처리수를 분석하였을 때 Reactive Blue 114의 중간 분해 산물이 확인되었고, 이들 물질은 2차 호기성 처리시 제거되었다. Biodegradatiorn of C. I. (Color Index) Reactive Blue 114 was investigated by using continuous two stage reactor anaerobic/aerobic reactors. An Upflow Anaerovbic Sludge Blanket (UASB) and conventional activated sludge reactor were used as an anaerobic and aerobic reactors, respectively. During the start-up operation for 2 months, UASB reactor was operated without dye and then fed with a subtoxic concentration (5 mg/L) of Reactive Blue 114. After reaching a steady state, the effect of dye concentration and hydraulic retention time (HRT) were studied. With increasing dye concentration and decreasing HRT, dye removal efficiency decreased. The highest removal rate of the Reactive Blue 114 obtained was 52 mg/L · day. In the aerobic reactor, color removal was not observed regardless of the operating conditions. The degradation intermediates of Reactive Blue 114 were analyzed by HPLC. Some intermediates were detected from the effluent of UASB, and they were apparently degraded further by the aerobic process.

Malignant histiocytosis, originally described in 1939 as histiocytic medullary reticulosis by Scott and Robb-Smith, is a rare histiocytic proliferative disorder that often shows an acute onset and used to progress to death within a few months. This disorder characterized clinically by fever, generalized weakness, lymphadenopathy and hepatosplenomegaly, and shows a variable range of pancytopenia. Extranodal involvement is common, with an incidence ranging from 50% to as high as 90%, skin involves8ment was noted in 10% to 15%. Typical skin lesions were mainly founded in extremity. i.e. erythematous papule and nodule occasionally become to necrosis and ulceration. We experienced one case of malignant histiocytosis in a 46-years-old female. The major clinical findings are fever, malaise, hepatosplenomegaly and erythematous skin lesion. In the laboratory study, pancytopenia is noted on the peripheral blood. And also aggregation of many atypical histiocytes were shown on skin and bone marrow biopsy. So we reported one related case with malignant histiocytosis as well as reviewing literature .
Adaptive Reconfigurable Flight Control System Based on Recursive System Identification

An adaptive reconfigurable control algorithm is proposed for fault aircraft tolerant control. An input-output model is derived from a discrete state-space model. The formulated model has the same structure as the ARX model, and therefore any recursive system identification method can be used. Model following control schemes are applied for reconfigurable control system design. The reference outputs for the system to be followed are generated via the linear optimal control theory. During the recursive adaptive control process, the reference system model is updated periodically. The proposed algorithm is very robust and applicable on real time. To validate the proposed adaptive fault tolerant control algorithm, numerical simulation is performed.

Background: There have been numerous population-based studies regarding herpes zoster (HZ) using health insurance claims or other databases. However, evidence regarding validation of the definition of HZ is scarce. Objectives: The aim of this study was to assess the accuracy of various screening criteria for HZ in hospital-based electronic databases. Methods: We extracted the medical records of patients with HZ or herpes simplex as the primary diagnosis in 2013 from five affiliated university hospitals. 500 HZ patients and 250 herpes simplex patients were randomly selected. Each randomly extracted subject was classified as definite, possible, or false-positive HZ by chart review. We proposed an operative definition to identify HZ of (1) one or more primary diagnoses of HZ and (2) prescription with oral antiviral medication for HZ for five or more days or intravenous acyclovir one or more times. The positive predictive value (PPV) of HZ was calculated for the following criteria: (1) primary diagnosis of HZ, (2) two or more primary diagnoses of HZ (3) suggested operative definition of HZ, and (4) primary diagnosis of herpes simplex. Results: We demonstrated that the PPV of primary diagnosis of HZ for definite or possible HZ with was 86.2%, whereas the PPV of our suggested operative definition was 99.5%. Conclusion: This study demonstrated that our operative definition using both diagnosis code and medication history has a much higher PPV for HZ than the definition using diagnosis code only.

The aim of the present study was to investigate the pathophysiological etiology of osteoarthritis that is mediated by the apoptosis of chondrocytes exposed to 25-hydroxycholesterol (25-HC), an oxysterol synthesized by the expression of cholesterol-25-hydroxylase (CH25H) under inflammatory conditions. Interleukin-1β induced the apoptosis of chondrocytes in a dose- dependent manner. Furthermore, the production of 25-HC increased in the chondrocytes treated with interleukin-1β through the expression of CH25H. 25-HC decreased the viability of chondrocytes. Chondrocytes with condensed nucleus and apoptotic populations increased by 25- HC. Moreover, the activity and expression of caspase-3 were increased by the death ligand-mediated extrinsic and mitochondria-dependent intrinsic apoptotic pathways in the chondrocytes treated with 25-HC. Finally, 25-HC induced not only caspasedependent apoptosis, but also induced proteoglycan loss in articular cartilage ex vivo cultured rat knee joints. These data indicate that 25-HC may act as a metabolic pathophysiological factor in osteoarthritis that is mediated by progressive chondrocyte death in the articular cartilage with inflammatory condition.
