      • Impact of Hepatoprotective Medications on the Safety and Efficacy of OBV/PTV/r plus DSV ± Ribavirin in HCV GT1b-infected Asian Patients

        Aims: Hepatoprotective medications (HPMs) are commonly used in patients with chronic liver disease, especially across Asia. The phase 3 ONYX-I and ONYX-II studies evaluated the safety and efficacy of the 3-DAA regimen of ombitasvir and paritaprevir/ritonavir (OBV/PTV/r) plus dasabuvir (DSV) ± ribavirin (RBV) in an exclusively HCV GT1b-infected Asian population. This post-hoc analysis evaluated the impact of HPM use in patients treated with OBV/PTV/r + DSV ± RBV in these studies. Methods: ONYX-I and ONYX-II enrolled patients in China, South Korea and Taiwan. SVR12, treatment-emergent adverse events (AEs), and alanine transaminase (ALT) normalization, as well as mean changes in ALT over time were assessed in patients using vs not using HPMs. HPM use defined as all medications administered during any treatment period. Results: Overall, 11% (36/325) of non-cirrhotic and 57% (59/104) of cirrhotic patients were receiving HPMs, with ursodeoxycholic acid being the most commonly used in both non-cirrhotic (5.2% [17/325]) and cirrhotic (14.4% [15/104]) patients. SVR12 rates were high (99.7- 100%) in both non-cirrhotic and cirrhotic patients irrespective of HPM use. The regimen was generally well tolerated, with low rates of SAEs and AEs leading to treatment discontinuation (Table). Of patients with ALT above normal at baseline (BL), 100% vs 95% of non-cirrhotic and 98% vs 89% of cirrhotic patients using or not using HPMs, respectively, had normal ALT values at end of treatment (EOT). Mean ALT levels during treatment declined rapidly and similarly with and without HPM use; mean changes from BL to EOT were -38.8 and -37.0 U/L, respectively, in non-cirrhotic and -54.2 and -66.6 U/L, respectively, in cirrhotic patients. Conclusions: OBV/PTV/r + DSV ± RBV achieved high SVR12 and was generally well tolerated regardless of HPM use. HPM use had no impact on the safety profile of OBV/PTV/r + DSV therapy in Asian HCV infected subjects.

        Panax ginseng and its ginsenosides: potential candidates for the prevention and treatment of chemotherapy-induced side effects

        Chemotherapy-induced side effects affect the quality of life and efficacy of treatment of cancer patients. Current approaches for treating the side effects of chemotherapy are poorly effective and may causenumerous harmful side effects. Therefore, developing new and effective drugs derived from natural nontoxiccompounds for the treatment of chemotherapy-induced side effects is necessary. Experimentsin vivo and in vitro indicate that Panax ginseng (PG) and its ginsenosides are undoubtedly non-toxic andeffective options for the treatment of chemotherapy-induced side effects, such as nephrotoxicity, hepatotoxicity,cardiotoxicity, immunotoxicity, and hematopoietic inhibition. The mechanism focus on antioxidation,anti-inflammation, and anti-apoptosis, as well as the modulation of signaling pathways, suchas nuclear factor erythroid-2 related factor 2 (Nrf2)/heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1), P62/keap1/Nrf2, c-jun Nterminalkinase (JNK)/P53/caspase 3, mitogen-activated protein kinase (MEK)/extracellular signalregulatedkinases (ERK), AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK)/mammalian target of rapamycin(mTOR), mitogen-activated protein kinase kinase 4 (MKK4)/JNK, and phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase(PI3K)/AKT. Since a systemic review of the effect and mechanism of PG and its ginsenosides onchemotherapy-induced side effects has not yet been published, we provide a comprehensive summarizationwith this aim and shed light on the future research of PG.

      • ATAD2 is Highly Expressed in Ovarian Carcinomas and Indicates Poor Prognosis

        The purpose of this study was to explore the expression of ATAD2 in ovarian tumor tissue as well as its relationship with degree of malignancy. Tumor tissue from 110 cases of ovarian cancer was collected in accordance with the Declaration of Helsinki for evaluation of ATAD2 expression iimmunohistochemistry, quantitative PCR (qPCR) and Western blotting. The correlation between the ATAD2 expression and and the prognosis of ovarian cancer was evaluated by Cox regression model. In addition, HO-8910 and OVCAR-3 cells were transfected with two siRNAs targeting ATAD2. Cell viability was evaluated with MTT assay, and cell migration by transwell migration assay. ATAD2 was shown to be highly expressed in 65.5% (72/110) of ovarian cancer cases, both at transcriptional and protein levels. Moreover, highly expression was positively correlated with degree of malignancy. Knock-down of ATAD2 in HO-8910 and OVCAR-3 cells was found to reduce cell migration. In addition, follow-up visits of the patients demonstrated that the 5-year survival rate was lower in patients with high expression of ATAD2. Our study suggested that ovarian tumor tissue may have highly expressed ATAD2, which is associated with tumor stage, omentum-metastasis, ascites and CA-125. Increased ATAD2 may play important roles in tumor proliferation and migration. ATAD2 could serve in particular as a prognostic marker and a therapeutic target for ovarian cancer.

        Amygdalin Reverses Macrophage PANoptosis Induced by Drug-Resistant Escherichia coli

        Infectious diseases caused by drug-resistant Escherichia coli (E. coli) pose a critical concern for medical institutions as they can lead to high morbidity and mortality rates. In this study, amygdalin exhibited anti-inflammatory and antioxidant activities, as well as other potentials. However, whether it could influence the drug-resistant E. coli-infected cells remained unanswered. Amygdalin was therefore tested in a cellular model in which human macrophages were exposed to resistant E. coli. Apoptosis was measured by flow cytometry and the lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) assay. Western immunoblotting and quantitative reverse-transcription polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR) were used to quantify interleukin-18 (IL-18), interleukin-1β (IL-1β), and interleukin-6 (IL-6). The production of reactive oxygen species (ROS) in macrophages was detected by ROS kit. The expression of panapoptotic proteins in macrophages was measured by qRT-PCR and Western immunoblotting. Drug-Resistant E. coli inhibited cell viability and enhanced apoptosis in the cellular model. In cells treated with amygdalin, this compound can inhibit cell apoptosis and reduce the expression of pro - inflammatory cytokines such as IL-1β, IL-18 and IL-6. Additionally, it decreases the production of PANoptosis proteins, Furthermore, amygdalin lowered the levels of reactive oxygen species induced by drug-resistant E. coli, in cells, demonstrating its antioxidant effects. Amygdalin, a drug with a protective role, alleviated cell damage caused by drug-resistant E. coli in human macrophages by inhibiting the PANoptosis signaling pathway.

        Exploring the Development of E-commerce for Fresh agricultural Products under the Background of E-commerce Law

        E-commerce of fresh agricultural products has received China’s attention in recent years. The e-commerce law effectively guides and promotes the e-commerce of fresh agricultural products to develop in a healthy and sustainable direction. The "E-commerce Law" ended the cruel development of new e-commerce, clearly regulated e-commerce behavior and protected the rights and interests of consumers, which was a milestone. China’s fresh agricultural products e-commerce started later than e-commerce. It started in 2005 and developed steadily in 2012, and the pressure it faces in 2020 will increase. Relying on China’s unique huge consumer market and government attention and support, big data is expected to increase the growth rate of global fresh agricultural e-commerce. This paper explores the development of e-commerce for fresh agricultural products in the context of e-commerce law. Within the scope of the e-commerce law, the sustainable development of e-commerce for fresh agricultural products requires the realization of small-scale e-commerce and strengthen the cold chain logistics capabilities of fresh agricultural products e-commerce companies, improve production standardization and intensification, provide a basis for large-scale fresh agricultural product e-commerce procurement, effectively reduce the loss of fresh agricultural products circulation, and make fresh agricultural products much fresher.

        사이코그래픽스를 활용한 음식관광자 시장세분화 및 행동특성 분석

        음식관광은 관광 산업에서 중요한 역할을 하고 있으며, 한 지역의 음식을 맛보며 해당 지역에 대한 이해를 형성하는관광 형태로 자리매김하고 있다. 이 연구는 사이코-컬리너리 요인과 음식관광을 결합하여 수정된 사이코그래픽스 척도와K-평균 군집 분석을 통해 충칭 지역의 음식 관광자 유형을 세분화하고자 한다. 사이코그래픽스 특성에 따라 ‘저관심형’, ‘중관심형’, ‘로컬다양성추구형’, ‘적극적체험형’ 4개 그룹으로 나누어, 이들의 인구통계학적 특징, 일반적 관광 행동, 정보수집 및 공유할 때 사용하는 채널, 리뷰 행동 그리고 음식과 관련된 활동의 경험 등 행동특성의 공통점과 차이점을 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 음식 관광자들은 공통적으로 가족과 함께 여행을 즐기며, 긍정적인 리뷰를 남기고 정보를 수집할 때와경험을 공유할 때 온라인 채널을 더 많이 선호한다. 또한, 음식 구매와 함께 훠궈 박물관 방문, 차 문화체험 등에도 관심을보였다. 군집별로는 ‘저관심형’과 ‘중관심형’ 관광자들은 50대 이상의 연령층이 많으며, ‘로컬다양성추구형’과 ‘적극적체험형’ 관광자들은 20대 관광자들이 많다. 또한, ‘저관심형’ 관광자들은 혼자 여행하는 경우가 많으며, ‘적극적체험형’ 관광자들은 다른 군집에 비해 부정적인 리뷰를 남기는 경향이 있다. 마지막으로, ‘로컬다양성추구형’ 과 ‘적극적체험형’ 관광자들이 음식 주제에 따른 다양한 활동을 더 선호하는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로, 충칭 지역의 관광 기업과조직은 음식 여행객들의 만족도를 높이고 관광 산업의 지속 가능한 발전에 기여하기 위해 효과적인 마케팅 전략과 실질적인 시사점을 제시한다. Culinary tourism holds a significant role in the tourism industry, providing travelers with a unique opportunity to deeply engage with a region's culture while delving into its local culinary delights. This study focuses on classifying culinary tourists in Chongqing by considering both psychological and comprehensive factors related to food and dining experiences. Using a customized psychographic measurement and the K-means clustering technique, it identifies four distinct tourist groups: “Low-Interest,” “Medium-Interest”, “Local Diversity-Seeking”, and “Active Experience-Seeking”, with each group distinguished by its own psychographic characteristics. Investigation of demographic factors, typical travel behaviors, preferred communication channels for receiving and sharing information, reviewing tendencies, and participation in food-related activities, were investiaged on these categories. The results suggest that culinary tourists frequently travel with their families and favor online platforms for posting positive reviews, gathering information, and sharing their experiences. Furthermore, these travellers are interested in activities such as exploring tea culture, visiting hotpot museums, and culinary excursions. Among the identified segments, the “Low-Interest” and “Medium-Interest” groups are more likely to comprise individuals aged 50 and above, whereas the “Local Diversity-Seeking” and “Active Experience-Seeking” categories predominantly consist of travelers in their 20s. Based on the findings, this study provides significant advice and effective marketing tactics for Chongqing's tourism stakeholders, with the aim of enhancing culinary tourists' satisfaction and contributing to the sustainable advancement of the tourism sector.

        There have been many wars in the world over the past century and are the scapegoats of war, whether it be an aggressor or a resistor. Korea also achieved national independence in the war. So when people visit the memorial hall in a peaceful time, they can understand the history of the past and celebrate the people and events of the past. People will better understand the meaning of peace. There is a lot of information about exhibition space and copper wire research in the Memorial Museum research paper, but very little about rest space. The resting space is an important part of public buildings, and the War Memorial of Korea needed a large area because it displayed many artifacts and weapons equipment. The role of rest areas helps travelers recover their physical strength and maintain their taste for viewing. In this study, we are trying to derive links with emotional design by studying the types and characteristics of the resting space.

        Utility of Frailty Screening Tools in Older Surgical Patients

        Frailty is a loss of functional reserve that compromises a person’s ability to cope with stressors such as surgery. Identifying and quantifying frailty may enable intensive rehabilitation interventions, caregiver support, or consideration of palliative care before surgery. This study describes the characteristics of five frailty screening tools, namely the Geriatric 8, Vulnerable Elders Survey-13, the Groningen Frailty Indicator, Edmonton Frailty Scale (EFS), and Clinical Frailty Scale. We further propose an approach incorporating a frailty scale into preoperative assessment, wherein older patients undergoing elective general surgery are screened using EFS, and frail patients are offered comprehensive geriatric assessment. The expected outcome is an individualized patient-centered care plan that will reduce frailty and optimize the patient’s condition before surgery.

        The genome of Bacillus aryabhattai T61 reveals its adaptation to Tibetan Plateau environment

        Tibetan Plateau is called ‘the Roof of the World’. Organisms survive there have to adapt to the high altitude environment. By shotgun method, we sequenced the genome of Bacillus aryabhattai T61, which inhabits in the soil at the altitude of 4123 m in Shigatse, Tibetan. Further, we explored the genomic basis for its adaptations to the plateau environment. The results showed that B. aryabhattai T61 has evolved an array of ROS defense systems and sporulation system for adaptations to the stresses caused by the plateau strong ultraviolet radiation, extreme oxygen limitation and low temperature. Specifically, B. aryabhattai T61 encodes the ResE–ResD twocomponent to sense the oxygen limitation and regulates COX15 for aerobic and anaerobic respiration. The twocomponent system DesK–DesR, which regulates the gene Des initiating the biosynthesis of unsaturated fatty acids, along with 33 temperature-shock proteins contribute to low temperature adaptation. With the comparative analysis, we deduced the novel gene cbiY may be involved in cobalamin biosynthesis. We also found that B. aryabhattai T61 may have novel regulatory mechanisms for sporulation initiation. B. aryabhattai T61 is the first Tibetan strain with high quality genome sequenced. The genome provides a paradigm for understanding the adaptations to the plateau environment in Bacteria kingdom.
