Purpose: The purpose of this study was to compare college students’ cyber sex, sexual knowledge and sexual autonomy according to their use of random-chatting application. The objective was to analyze the relationship among cyber sex, sexual knowledge and sexual autonomy. Method: The method used in the study was a descriptive correlation study. The subjects were 476 college students. 258 students of them answered to have used random-chatting application and 216 students to have not. Data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, average, standard deviation, t-test, ANOVA, Chi-square test, Scheffe test and pearson correlation using the SPSS 21.0 program. Result: The results of this study were the following: 1. Among 476 subjects, 258(54.20%) of them have used random chatting application, 46(9.66%) of them have shared sexual conversation or pictures through the application, and 68(14.29%) of them have met the opposite sex in person through the application. 2. Concerning the usage of random chatting application, students who have used the application have recorded a higher cyber sex score than students who haven’t. (t=-9.457, p<.001). 3. For students who have used random chatting application, there was a negative correlation between the cyber sex score and sexual knowledge (r=-.13, p=.034). Also, there was a positive correlation between sexual autonomy and sexual knowledge (r=.19, p=.003). Conclusion: It was revealed that the use of random chatting application has a high relevance to cyber sex addiction. Considering the fact that the use of the application has little to do with sexual knowledge and sexual autonomy, it is necessary that appropriate sex-education be offered and some programs to increase sexual autonomy be developed. The new sex-education should include some contents related to the random chatting application which can be used for sexual purposes

Purpose: This study's main objectives are to examine the relationship of smartphone use at bedtime and sleep quality among college students. Methods: A sample 189 Korean college students(20-26 years old( participated in a survey about smartphone use in bed time and sleep quality. Self-reported sleep quality, daytime fatigue and insomnia were measured using the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index Korean version (PSQI-K). There are 3 sections of the questionnaire; 1) general information 2) sleep quality using PSQI-K 3) smartphone usage before bedtime. Data was analyzed using cross tabulation, one-way ANOVA, and independent T-Test. Results: 1. There was a difference whether they suffer from daily life due to the use of smartphones before bedtime between college student‘s sex and majors. 2. There was a difference in the main purpose of using smartphone before bedtime by age. 3. Respondents who used their smartphones before bedtime everyday showed prolonged sleep latency than those who used smartphones before bedtime less frequently. 4. There was no significant difference in the quality of sleep according to usage time and recognition on smartphone usage before bedtime and its disturbance of daily life. 5. The quality of sleep according to the purpose of smartphone usage before bedtime showed no significant difference. Conclusion: Based on the study results, there is the necessity of self-management among college students to enhance their sleep quality. Additionally, further research on the smartphone usage before bedtime is necessary due to the absence of the precedent studies and gender imbalance in the collected data.
Initial growth behaviors of GaN layers overgrown by HVPE on one-dimensional nanostructures
Kwon, H.Y.,Moon, J.Y.,Choi, Y.J.,Shin, M.J.,Ahn, H.S.,Yang, M.,Chang, J.H.,Yi, S.N.,Ha, D.H. Elsevier 2010 Materials science and engineering B. Advanced Func Vol.166 No.1
We developed a novel technique for obtaining a residual-strain-free GaN layer by the hydride vapor phase epitaxy (HVPE) method using one-dimensional nanostructures. The GaN layer was grown on a Si(111) substrate with a conventional AlN film and one-dimensional GaN nanostructures. The nanostructures were grown for 2h with a HCl:NH3 gas flow ratio of 1:50. The growth rate of nanoneedles at 600oC and nanorods at 650oC were 2.553 and 2.193μm/h, respectively. The overgrown GaN layer was grown at 1050oC for 5 and 10min. We obtained a GaN layer of 1.833μm thickness and c=5.1849A. The morphology, crystalline structure, and optical characteristics of the GaN layer were examined by field emission scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, and photoluminescence.
Osteoprotegerin Expressed by Osteoclasts : An Autoregulator of Osteoclastogenesis

<P>Osteoprotegerin (OPG) is secreted by stromal and osteoblastic lineage cells and inhibits osteoclastogenesis by preventing the interaction of receptor activator of nuclear factor-κB ligand (RANKL) with receptor activator of nuclear factor-κB (RANK). In this study, the expression of OPG in osteoclasts themselves and its biological functions during osteoclastogenesis were investigated for the first time. OPG expression <I>in vivo</I> in the developing rat maxilla was examined by immunofluorescence analysis. OPG expression in osteoclasts during <I>in vitro</I> osteoclastogenesis was determined by reverse-transcription polymerase chain-reaction (RT-PCR), Western blot, and immunofluorescence staining. We determined the function of OPG produced by osteoclasts during osteoclastogenesis by silencing the OPG gene. The effects of OPG on bone-resorbing activity and apoptosis of mature osteoclasts were examined by the assay of resorptive pit formation on calcium-phosphate-coated plate and terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase-mediated dUTP nick-end labeling (TUNEL) staining, respectively. In the immunofluorescence findings, strong immunoreactivities were unexpectedly seen in multinucleated tartrate-resistant acid phosphatase (TRAP)-positive osteoclasts around the growing and erupting tooth germs in the rat alveolar bone. <I>In vitro</I>, OPG expression was significantly increased during the differentiation of osteoclasts from mouse bone-marrow-derived cells treated with a combination of macrophage colony-stimulating factor (M-CSF) and RANKL. Interestingly, it was found that OPG small interfering (si)RNA treatment during osteoclastogenesis enhanced the sizes of osteoclasts, but attenuated their bone-resorbing activity. Also, the increased chromosomal DNA fragmentation and caspase-3 activity in the late phase of osteoclastogenesis were found to be decreased by treatment with OPG siRNA. Furthermore, effects of OPG siRNA treatment on osteoclastogenesis and bone-resorbing activity were recovered by the treatment of exogenous OPG. These results suggest that OPG, expressed by the osteoclasts themselves, may play an auto-regulatory role in the late phase of osteoclastogenesis through the induction of apoptosis.</P>
