Baseline Total Metabolic Tumor Volume and Total Lesion Glycolysis Measured on 18F-FDG PET-CT Predict Outcomes in T-Cell Lymphoblastic Lymphoma

        Xiaoyan Feng,Xin Wen,Ling Li,Zhenchang Sun,Xin Li,Lei Zhang,Jingjing Wu,Xiaorui Fu,Xinhua Wang,Hui Yu,Xinran Ma,Xudong Zhang,Xinli Xie,Xingmin Han,Mingzhi Zhang 대한암학회 2021 Cancer Research and Treatment Vol.53 No.3

Purpose There is no optimal prognostic model for T-cell lymphoblastic lymphoma (T-LBL). Here, we discussed the predictive value of total metabolic tumor volume (TMTV) and total lesion glycolysis (TLG) measured on 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography–computed tomography (PET-CT) in T-LBL.Materials and Methods Thirty-seven treatment naïve T-LBL patients with PET-CT scans were enrolled. TMTV was obtained using the 41% maximum standardized uptake value (SUVmax) threshold method, and TLG was measured as metabolic tumor volume multiplied by the mean SUV. Progression-free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS) were analyzed by Kaplan-Meier curves and compared by the log-rank test. Results The optimal cutoff values for SUVmax, TMTV, and TLG were 12.7, 302 cm3, and 890, respectively. A high SUVmax, TMTV, and TLG indicated a shorten PFS and OS. On multivariable analysis, TMTV ≥ 302 cm3, and central nervous system (CNS) involvement predicted inferior PFS, while high SUVmax, TLG and CNS involvement were associated with worse OS. Subsequently, we generated a risk model comprising high SUVmax, TMTV or TLG and CNS involvement, which stratified the population into three risk groups, which had significantly different median PFS of not reached, 14 months, and 7 months for low-risk group, mediate-risk group, and high-risk group, respectively (p < 0.001). Median OS were not reached, 27 months, and 13 months, respectively (p < 0.001).Conclusion Baseline SUVmax, TMTV, and TLG measured on PET-CT are strong predictors of worse outcome in T-LBL. A risk model integrating these three parameters with CNS involvement identifies patients at high risk of disease progression.

The Role of Neutrophil-to-Lymphocyte Ratio in Predicting Pathological Response for Resectable Non–Small Cell Lung Cancer Treated with Neoadjuvant Chemotherapy Combined with PD-1 Checkpoint Inhibitors

        Xiaoyan Sun,Yingnan Feng,Bin Zhang,Wuhao Huang,Xiaoliang Zhao,Hua Zhang,Dongsheng Yue,Changli Wang 대한암학회 2022 Cancer Research and Treatment Vol.54 No.4

Purpose The aim of our study was to investigate the value of baseline and preoperative neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) in predicting the pathological response and disease-free survival (DFS) of neoadjuvant chemotherapy alone or combined with programmed cell death-1 (PD-1) checkpoint inhibitors in patients with resectable non–small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Materials and Methods Resectable NSCLC patients who underwent neoadjuvant chemotherapy alone or combined with PD-1 checkpoint inhibitors between January 2018 and January 2020 were included. Peripheral venous blood samples of the patients were collected within 3 days prior to the first neoadjuvant treatment and within 3 days prior to surgery. Results A total of 79 patients in neoadjuvant chemotherapy combined with PD-1 checkpoint inhibitors group and 89 patients in neoadjuvant chemotherapy alone group were included. Thirty-five point four percent of the patients achieved pathological complete response (pCR) in neoadjuvant chemotherapy combined with PD-1 checkpoint inhibitors group, whereas only 9.0% reached pCR in the group of neoadjuvant chemotherapy. High NLR level were correlated with poor pathological response and DFS in neoadjuvant chemotherapy or combined with PD-1 checkpoint inhibitors group. Multivariate analysis revealed that baseline NLR could independently predict pathological response and DFS in the neoadjuvant chemotherapy combined with PD-1 checkpoint inhibitors group. Conclusion High NLR level were correlated with poor pathological response and shorter DFS in patients with NSCLC undergoing neoadjuvant chemotherapy or combined with PD-1 checkpoint inhibitors. Meanwhile, baseline NLR could independently predict response to pathological response and DFS, revealing its potential as a screening tool in NSCLC patients who received neoadjuvant chemotherapy combined with PD-1 checkpoint inhibitors.

Influences of Reaction Temperature and Carrier Gas Flow-Rate on n-Heptane Cracking over ZSM-5 Catalyst Without and With Activation of V2O5/Al2O3

Xiaoyan Hu,Xinlong Yan,Rui Feng,Jianliang Xue 대한화학회 2017 Bulletin of the Korean Chemical Society Vol.38 No.10

The activation role of V2O5/Al2O3 during the cracking of heptane over ZSM-5 catalysts has already been confirmed in our previous study. In order to get more details about the alternative reaction pathway contributed by the activation of V2O5/Al2O3, a comparative study of n-heptane cracking over ZSM-5 equilibrium catalyst without and with V2O5/Al2O3 introduction was performed at different temperatures and contact time. The results indicated that elevated reaction temperature weakened the role of V2O5/Al2O3 during the reaction process. While the impacts of contact time were not as strong as that of temperature, and the change of relative contribution of different reaction pathways, including thermal reaction, carbonium/carbenium ion cracking, and reaction of the intermediate species because of V2O5/Al2O3 activation, was concluded to be small at varied N2 flow rates.

LncRNA XIST promotes carboplatin resistance of ovarian cancer through activating autophagy via targeting miR-506-3p/FOXP1 axis

        Xiaoyan Xia,Zikui Li,Yaojun Li,Feng Ye,Xiaoming Zhou 대한부인종양학회 2022 Journal of Gynecologic Oncology Vol.33 No.6

Objective: Resistance to chemotherapy drugs makes ovarian cancer (OC) difficult to treat and ultimately kills patients. Long non-coding RNAs are closely related to carboplatin resistance in OC. In present study, we explored the role of lncRNA X-inactive specific transcript (XIST) on carboplatin resistance in OC. Methods: Cell viability, proliferation, and apoptosis were assessed through 2,5-diphenyl- 2H-tetrazolium bromide, colony formation, and flow cytometry assays, respectively. Microtubule-associated protein 1A/1B-light chain 3 expression was evaluated by immunofluorescence assay to analyze the cell autophagy. The interaction of XIST/ miR-506-3p or miR-506-3p/forkhead box protein P1 (FOXP1) was analyzed using RNA immunoprecipitation (RIP) and dual-luciferases reporter assays. The function of XIST/ miR-506-3p/FOXP1 axis in vivo was further confirmed by tumor xenograft study and immunohistochemistry. Results: The expression of XIST and FOXP1 increased while miR-506-3p decreased in OC and carboplatin resistance cells. XIST silencing repressed the proliferative and autophagic capacities of carboplatin resistance cells while promoted the apoptosis. XIST overexpression led to the opposite results. XIST targeted miR-506-3p and downregulated its expression. MiR-506-3p inhibition facilitated the proliferative and autophagic capacities while suppressed the apoptosis of cells, XIST knockdown reversed these effects. MiR-506-3p bound to FOXP1. XIST knockdown or miR-506-3p overexpression reversed the increase of cell proliferative and autophagic abilities and the decrease of apoptosis rate induced by FOXP1 overexpression. XIST affected autophagy and carboplatin resistance in vivo via regulating the miR-506-3p/FOXP1 axis. Conclusion: XIST knockdown inhibited autophagy and carboplatin resistance of OC through FOXP1/protein kinase B (AKT)/mammalian target of rapamycin pathway by targeting miR-506-3p.

Association of Perceived Stress With Depression Among Vaccinated Healthcare Workers During the SARS-CoV-2 Variant Outbreak: The Mediating Role of Compassion Fatigue

        Cai Xue,Li Guohong,Feng Haixia,Wang Xiaoyan,He Lijun,Luo Dan,Xu Cuirong,Huang Yingzi,Qiu Shanhu 대한신경정신의학회 2023 PSYCHIATRY INVESTIGATION Vol.20 No.4

Objective Depression was common during coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, while the association of perceived stress with depression among vaccinated healthcare workers has not been investigated. This study aimed to address this issue. Methods We included a total of 898 fully vaccinated healthcare workers during the outbreak of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 Delta variant in Nanjing, 2021. Depression was ascertained by Patient Health Questionnaire-9, with a cut-off score of ≥5 indicative of mild-to-severe depression. Perceived stress, resilience, and compassion fatigue were assessed by Perceived Stress Scale-10, Resilience Scale-25, and Professional Quality of Life Scale version-5, respectively. Logistic regression analyses were used to estimate the odds ratio (OR) and 95% confidence interval (CI), along with subgroup and mediation analyses. Results The prevalence of mild-to-severe depression was 41.1% in vaccinated healthcare workers. The odd of mild-to-severe depression was increased with higher perceived stress. Compared with vaccinated healthcare workers with the lowest tertile of perceived stress, those with the highest tertile had increased odds of mild-to-severe depression by 120% (OR 2.20, 95% CI 1.46 to 3.31) after multivariable-adjustment. However, perceived stress was not associated with mild-to-severe depression in vaccinated healthcare workers with strong resilience, but was in those with weak resilience (pinteraction=0.004). Further analysis showed that compassion fatigue mediated the relationship between perceived stress and mild-to-severe depression, with a mediating effect of 49.7%.Conclusion Perceived stress was related to an increased odd of mild-to-severe depression in vaccinated healthcare workers during COVID-19 pandemic, and this relationship might be explained by compassion fatigue.

Ferrocene-based hydrazone energetic transition-metal complexes as multifunctional combustion catalysts for the thermal decomposition of ammonium perchlorate

        Xiaoju Liu,Haitao Feng,Yang Li,Xiaoyan Ma,Fang Chen,Qilong Yan 한국공업화학회 2022 Journal of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry Vol.115 No.-

Three novel ferrocene-based hydrazone energetic transition-metal complexes denoted as M/E-FcDz-TMCs (M = Co (II), Fe (III), and Co(II)Fe(III)), were successfully prepared to improve the thermal decompositionof ammonium perchlorate (AP) and anti-migration performance of Fc-based catalysts. 1-hydrazinoethylene-ferrocene (E-FcDz) with unique electronic structure and energy bonds (C@N, NAN)as ligand reacted with transition metal Co, or Fe mono-metal nodes, and Co-Fe bimetal nodes, respectively. The chemical structure, crystalline texture, and morphology were confirmed, and the catalytic performancewas investigated. The thermal decomposition kinetics were estimated by applying Kissinger,FWO, and KAS methods. The results revealed that M/E-FcDz-TMCs had superior catalytic performancesfor AP decomposition compared to the traditional catalyst catocene due to their high electron transportcapacity. Especially, CoFe/E-FcDz-TMCs showed the best catalytic efficiency due to the hybridizationbetween Co (II) 3d and Fe (III) 3d orbitals in the structure led to electron redistribution, driving the optimalsynergistic catalytic effect of the bimetal Co-Fe nodes and E-FcDz, and further enhancing catalysis forAP. Moreover, AP/CoFe/E-FcDzTMCs showed the best combustion performance. In addition, the thermaldecomposition products of AP were explored by TG/FTIR, and the AP thermal decomposition processcould be explained by a possible mechanism following the principle of electron transfer theory.

Propagation characteristics of ultrasonic guided waves in tram rails

        Kui Sun,Hua-peng Chen,Qingsong Feng,Xiaoyan Lei 국제구조공학회 2020 Structural Engineering and Mechanics, An Int'l Jou Vol.75 No.4

Ultrasonic guided wave testing is a very promising non-destructive testing method for rails, which is of great significance for ensuring the safe operation of railways. On the basis of the semi-analytical finite element (SAFE) method, a analytical model of 59R2 grooved rail was proposed, which is commonly used in the ballastless track of modern tram. The dispersion curves of ultrasonic guided waves in free rail and supported rail were obtained. Sensitivity analysis was then undertaken to evaluate the effect of rail elastic modulus on the phase velocity and group velocity dispersion curves of ultrasonic guided waves. The optimal guided wave mode, optimal excitation point and excitation direction suitable for detecting rail integrity were identified by analyzing the frequency, number of modes, and mode shapes. A sinusoidal signal modulated by a Hanning window with a center frequency of 25 kHz was used as the excitation source, and the propagation characteristics of high-frequency ultrasonic guided waves in the rail were obtained. The results show that the rail pad has a relatively little influence on the dispersion curves of ultrasonic guided waves in the high frequency band, and has a relatively large influence on the dispersion curves of ultrasonic guided waves in the low frequency band below 4 kHz. The rail elastic modulus has significant influence on the phase velocity in the high frequency band, while the group velocity is greatly affected by the rail elastic modulus in the low frequency band.

Operating Range Scheduled Robust Dahlin Algorithm to Typical Industrial Process with Input Constraint

        Xiaoying Tian,Hui Peng,Xuguang Luo,Shiyuan Nie,Feng Zhou,Xiaoyan Peng 제어·로봇·시스템학회 2020 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.18 No.4

There is a class of typical nonlinear industrial process, which can be characterized by a first-order inertia plus pure delay model in an operating range, but the model parameters are different in different operating ranges. Usually, a set of Proportion Integration Differentiation (PID) controllers may be used to control the process, and the controllers have different parameters in different operating areas. However, the adjustment process of the PID controllers’ parameters is not an easy job in practice, and the control performance may also be not perfect. The Dahlin algorithm may provide very good control performance for the process, but its control performance may become very poor if the model parameters are not accurate and/or the input is constrained. Faced with this issue, this paper proposes an Operating-Range Scheduled Robust Dahlin Algorithm (ORSRDA) for the process control with input constraint, which is designed on the basis of a nominal first-order inertia plus pure delay model and the given parameters uncertainty. The process operating ranges are divided into pre-designed several zones accordingto the difference between output setting value and current output when a new setting appears. For each operating range, the parameters of ORSRDA are obtained by solving a min-max problem offline to guarantee the closedloop system’s robust stability and acquire the best step-response control performance. To eliminate the steady state error, the integration control action is added into the ORSRDA when the system output is close to its setting value. The proposed method is applied to temperature control of an experimental electric furnace to demonstrate its effectiveness and implement procedure.
