Background and Purpose: Cisplatin is the most common chemotherapeutic agent for loco-regionally advanced nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC); however, toxicity is a limiting factor for some patients. We retrospectively compared the efficacy and toxicity of weekly docetaxel-based and cisplatin-based concurrent chemoradiotherapy in loco-regionally advanced NPC. Methods and Materials: Eighty-four patients with Stage III and IVA-B NPCs, treated between 2007 and 2008, were retrospectively analyzed. Thirty received weekly docetaxel-based concurrent chemotherapy, and 43 were given weekly cisplatin-based concurrent chemotherapy. Radiotherapy was administered using a conventional technique (seven weeks, 2.0 Gy per fraction, total dose 70-74 Gy) with 6-8 Gy boosts for some patients with locally advanced disease. Results: Median follow-up time was 42.3 months (range, 8.6-50.8 months). There were no significant differences in the 3-year loco-regional failure-free survival (85.6% vs. 92.3%; p=0.264), distant failure-free survival (87.0% vs. 92.5%; p=0.171), progression-free survival (85.7% vs. 88.4%; p=0.411) or overall survival (86.5% vs. 92.5%, p=0.298) of patients treated concurrently with docetaxel or cisplatin. Severe toxicity was not common in either group. Conclusions: Weekly docetaxel-based concurrent chemoradiotherapy is potentially effective and has a tolerable toxicity; however, further investigations are required to determine if docetaxel is superior to cisplatin for advanced stage NPC.
목적 범주의 의미기초와 중국어 목적 범주의 문법 표현 형식에 대하여

目的範疇具有“意向性”、“‘目的-行爲’或‘行爲-目的’的語義關係”、“非現實”等三個根本性的語義特徵。幷且,以這三項語義特徵爲語義基礎可以建立目的範疇。 另外,以是否具有這三項語義特徵爲判斷標準,可以判斷一個句子或格式是否體現目的範疇。本硏究的判斷結果顯示:漢語目的複句、目的緊縮複句、帶有關聯詞語的目的單句、目的連動句以及“V + PO”結構能勾體現目的範疇。 因此,我們可以把關聯詞“爲、爲了、爲著、以、以便、以期、以求、好、借以、用以、來、以免、以防、省得、免得”以及關聯短語“爲(了)……而……、爲(了)……起見、爲的是、是爲了”等看做漢語目的範疇的目的標記。 The purpose category possesses three fundamental semantic features: intentionality, the semantic relationship of “Purpose-Action” or “Action- Purpose”, and irrealis. Moreover, these three semantic features can be used as the semantic foundation to establish the purpose category. In addition, whether a sentence or a construction possesses these three semantic features or not can be regarded as a criteria to tell this sentence or construction reflects the purpose category or not. The findings of this research showed that the purpose conjunctive sentence and the purpose contraction conjunctive sentence, the purpose conjunctive simple sentence which is connected by connectives, the purpose conjunctive serial verb sentence and ‘V + PO’ construction have the function of reflecting the purpose category. Among these members of purpose category, the purpose conjunctive sentence is the most prototypical member, and rest of the members are marginal members. Therefore, we can regard the connective word such as “wei, weile, weizhe, yi, yibian, yiqi, yiqiu, hao, jieyi, yongyi, lai, yimian, yifang, shengde, miande” and the connective phrase such as “wei(le)……er……, wei(le)……qijian, weideshi, shiweile” as the purposive marker of the Chinese purpose category.

Objective: Hypoactivity in the reward system among patients with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a well-known phenomenon. Whether the activity in the reward pathway is related to harm avoidance, such as in sensitivity to punishment, is unclear. Evidence regarding the potential difference between ADHD patients and controls in terms of this association is scarce. Methods: Event-related functional magnetic resonance imaging was conducted on subjects performing the Iowa gambling test. Fourteen adults with ADHD and 14 controls were enrolled in the study. Results: Harm avoidance was found to be positively correlated with the activities of the bilateral orbitofrontal cortex and right insula in individuals with ADHD. A group difference was also confirmed. Conclusion: Understanding the roles of harm avoidance and brain activation during risk tasks is important.

This study aims to enhance government leadership in responding to the climate crisis by strengthening the application of new media communication. In the era of new media, we can get climate information quickly and easily, which brings new opportunities and challenges for the government to deal with the climate crisis. There are many deficiencies in the government's new media services in response to the climate crisis. The content and ways of communication are relatively simple, and the ability to interact with the public is insufficient; failure to establish cooperation mechanisms with multiple organizations; the ability and quality of the government to make use of new media to publicize the climate crisis should be improved; government needs to improve its level of political inquiry and handling through new media. Therefore, we suggest that the government should make reasonable use of new media to increase the publicity of the climate crisis, leverage external forces to diversify the response to the climate crisis, establish a new media public communication platform, and improve the awareness and ability of government personnel to use new media.

Digital images are often interfered by imaging equipment and external environmental noise during digitization and transmission. It is called a noisy image. Image denoising is the process of reducing the noise of noisy images. This paper briefly introduces the concept of image noise using DCT and DWT denoising algorithms, and compares the denoising effects of DCT and DWT through experiments.
Low-Frequency Compensation of Piezoelectric Accelerometers for Motion Control Systems

This paper describes how piezoelectric accelerometers can be applied to motion control systems for performance enhancements. Piezoelectric accelerometers are known for their wide frequency ranges to sense dynamic acceleration. However, they are unable to measure static and quasi-static acceleration. Since positional sensors generally exist in motion control systems, this paper presents two acceleration observers that fuse piezoelectric accelerometers and positional sensors and are able to achieve high-quality observation of acceleration, including static and quasi-static components. The proposed observers are applied to a robotic manipulator, and experimental results confi rm feasibility and eff ectiveness of the proposed acceleration observers.

Echinacoside, an active compound in the herb Herba Cistanche, has been reported to inhibit glutamate release. In this study, we investigated the effects of echinacoside on spontaneous excitatory synaptic transmission changes induced by 4-aminopyridine (4-AP), by using the in vitro rat hippocampal slice technique and whole-cell patch clamp recordings from CA3 pyramidal neurons. Perfusion with echinacoside significantly suppressed the 4-AP-induced epileptiform activity in a concentration-dependent manner. Echinacoside reduced 4-AP-induced increase in frequency of spontaneous excitatory postsynaptic currents (sEPSCs) but it did not affect the amplitude of sEPSCs or glutamate-activated currents, implicating a presynaptic mechanism of action. Echinacoside also potently blocked sustained repetitive firing, which is a basic mechanism of antiepileptic drugs. These results suggest that echinacoside exerts an antiepileptic effect on hippocampal CA3 pyramidal neurons by simultaneously decreasing glutamate release and blocking abnormal firing synchronization. Accordingly, our study provides experimental evidence that echinacoside may represent an effective pharmacological agent for treating epilepsy.
