        자연산 점몰개, Squalidus multimaculatus Hosoya et Jeon의 새인두흡충, Clinostomum complanatum (Rudolphi, 1814) 감염

        경상북도 영덕군의 하천에 서식하는 점몰개 spotted barbel gudgeon (Squalidus multimaculatus Hosoya et Jeon)의 근육에서 새인두흡충 Clinostomum complanatum (Rudolphi, 1814)의 피낭유충이 발견되었다. 감염된 점몰개는 "yellow grub"인 기생충의 피낭유충으로 인해 표면이 울퉁불퉁하게 보였으며, 수면위에 힘없이 유영하였고 일부 폐사한 개체도 발견되었다. 분리된 탈낭유충의 형태는 혓바닥 모양이었으며, 크기는 2.85~5.89 mm×0.8~1.99 mm였다. 어체당 1~98 개의 피낭유충을 분리하였으며 평균 감염수는 25개로 나타났다. 특히, 성어크기인 평균 7 cm 정도의 점몰개는 100% 감염되어 있었다. 본 연구는 한국의 자연수계에 서식하는 어류에서 C. complanatum 의해 질병이 발생하고 폐사가 일어난 첫 보고이다. The metacercariae of Clinostomum complanatum (Rudolphi, 1814) were isolated in the whole body muscle of wild freshwater fish, spotted barbel gudgeon (Squalidus multimaculatus Hosoya et Jeon) from the local river in Yeongdeok, Gyeongsangbuk-do, Korea. The infected fish with bumpy body surface by "yellow grub" showed erratic swimming behavior and some fish were died. The isolated excysted metacercariae were tongue shaped and 2.85~5.89 mm × 0.8~1.99 mm in size. 1~98 metacercariae were isolated in individual fish and mean infection intensity was 25. All examined adult spotted barbel gudgeon sizing 7 cm in body length were infected. This is the first report of disease outbreak and mortality caused by C. complanatum infection in wild freshwater fish in Korea.

        TV 드라마에 나타난 노인 이미지와 노년에 대한 인식 : 시트콤 < 거침없이 하이킥 >을 중심으로

        The point of the study was to observe the image and awareness of senior citizens due to a sharp increase in numbers of ageing population through television drama. The television drama plays an important role that has characteristic of mass media, which is providing shared experiences of public, and has people`s thoughts and images. The reason to choose a sitcom to study the senior citizens of this time period is because the sitcom usually depends on a standardized character to finish the story in short time period, usually little less and more than 30 minutes. So it has more importance of the senior citizens than other standard drama. Therefore, a sitcom named "High Kick"(Geochimeopsi Haikik) which aired from November 2006 to July 2007 was chosen to be the example of the study. The "High Kick" was popular sitcom with high viewer ratings of 20% and has story line that includes our ordinary life issues, for example,divorce, unemployment crisis and getting old. Especially characters named Soon-Jae and Moon-Hee, who represent aged man and women of this time period, were expressed as full portrayed characters. Soon-Jae is working as an oriental doctor, but he barely has that position just out of respect for his seniority. Moon-Hee is a woman who is tied up with household chores and infant care and her daughter-in-law is keep hurting Moon-Hee`s pride with her up-to-date knowledge. But Moon-Hee`s elder son is jobless and her second son is divorced. Soon-Jae, Moon-Hee and everyone else is living together, so the two old man and women had to work. And the generation of Soon-Jae and Moon-Hee believed that the idea of working for their life is valuable, and not working means becoming useless. Even though they had been humiliated by many other factors, they can`t give up their work. Traditionally, we thought it is perfectly normal for old people to step back from their work to have a recess at some point of time, old people of this time period can`t step back from their work. And in this era, the society asks for old people`s workforce. The old people can not be retired from their work. The speed of advances in civilization and technology is amazing as the world changes at a fast pace. The old people who can not get use to the new civilization and technology become outrageous because of a sense of alienation. So the new idea of outrageous old people appears in this society and we can find that it leads to social issues. 본 연구는 노인 인구의 급격한 증가로 인한 노인의 이미지와 노년에 대한 인식을 T.V. 드라마를 통해 살펴보고자 하였다. T.V. 드라마는 대중매체가 갖고 있는 특성상 일반 대중들의 공유된 경험을 제공하는 중요한 매개체로 사람들에게 지대한 영향을 미치며 사람들의 생각이나 이미지가 담겨있다. 이 시대 노인에 대한 연구를 위해 시트콤을 선택한 것은 시트콤이 다른 장르의 드라마에 비해 30분 내외의 짧은 시간 동안 극 진행을 위해 정형화 된 인물에 의존하기 때문에 노인의 역할과 비중이 일반 드라마에 비해 높다. 그래서 2006년 11월부터 2007년 7월까지 방영되었던 < 거침없이 하이킥 >을 그 대상으로 삼았다. < 거침없이 하이킥 >은 시청률이 20%에 이르는 인기 시트콤으로서 이혼, 취업난, 나이듦 같은 우리의 일상이 잘 담겨있다. 특히 순재와 문희로 대표되는 이 시대 남녀 노인들의 모습을 개성적으로 그려냈다. 순재는 한의사로 현업에 종사하고 있지만 같은 일을 하는 며느리에게 밀려 겨우 자리만 유지하고 있다. 문희도 육아와 가사에서 벗어나지 못하고 있는데 며느리는 신지식을 내세워 자존심을 건드린다, 그런데 큰 아들은 직장이 없고 작은 아들은 이혼하고 그래서 모두 함께 살고 있어 두 노인 모두 일을 해야 한다. 게다가 이들 노인 세대는 일하는 것을 삶의 중요한 가치로 알고 살아왔기 때문에 일을 하지 않는다는 것은 자신이 쓸모없다는 의미로 받아들여 온갖 수모를 당하면서도 일을 포기하지 않는다. 우리는 전통적으로 노인은 일정한 시기에 이르면 일에서 물러나 쉼을 갖는 것을 당연시했으나 오늘날의 노인들은 일에서 놓여날 수가 없다. 그리고 시대가 노인의 노동력을 요구하기 때문에 더군다나 은퇴를 할 수 없는 것이다. 암묵적으로 은퇴를 강요하는 사회와 은퇴를 할 수 없는 상황 사이에서 일하는 노인의 딜레마가 있다. 세상이 빠른 속도로 변하면서 문명과 기술의 발전 속도는 놀랍다. 새로운 문명과 기술에 적응하지 못하는 노인들은 소외감으로 인해 폭력적으로 변해간다. 그래서 새로운 개념인 폭주노인이 등장하고 사회적 문제를 야기시킬 수 있다는 것을 알 수 있었다.

        <P>While observing the transfer characteristics of a-IGZO TFTs, it was noticed that a hump occurred in the subthreshold regime after light and bias stress. This study analyzes the mechanism of the hump occurrence. It was determined that hump characteristics were related with parasitic TFTs which formed at the peripheral edges parallel with the channel direction. It seems that the negative shift of the transfer characteristics of parasitic TFTs was larger than that of the main TFT under light and bias stress. Therefore, the difference in the negative shift between the main TFT and the parasitic TFT was the origin of the hump occurrence. We investigated the instability of a-IGZO TFTs under negative gate bias with light illumination for various channel structures in order to verify the above mechanism.</P>

        Cutaneous Toxicity of Xylene Application to Rat Skin

        To investigate the skin toxicity of xylene, xylene (25 mg/cm^2) has been sequentially applied to the rat skin for four days. On the light microscopic examination, epithelium was left out with infiltration of inflammatory cells in border with dermis, and formation of new epithelial layer was shown under the inflammatory zone. Application of xylene to the rat skin showed the marked rise of cutaneous xanthine oxidase activity whereas, the activities of oxygen free radical scavenging enzymes, superoxide dismutase and glutathione S-transferase, were significantly declined. Furthermore, the content of cutaneous glutathione was more and less decreased in rat skin applied with xylene. In conclusion, these results suggest that a part of oxygen free radical may be responsible for morphological changes in skin by applying xylene to the rat skin.

        Concentrations and Distributions of 5 Metals in Groundwater Based on Geological Features in South Korea

        To establish new metal groundwater standard, 5 metals such as aluminum, chromium, iron, manganese, and selenium were evaluated by Chemical Ranking Of groundWater pollutaNts (CROWN) including possibility of exposure, toxicity, interest factor, connection standard for other media, and data reliability. 430 groundwater samples in 2013 and 2014 were collected semiannually from 110 groundwater wells and they were analyzed for selenium, manganese, iron, chromium, and aluminum. For this study, 430 groundwater samples were categorized into 3 geological distribution features, such as igneous, metamorphic, and sedimentary rock region and geological background levels were divided by pre-selection methods. For the results, the average concentrations of aluminum, chromium, iron, manganese, and selenium in 430 groundwater samples were $0.0008mg\;L^{-1}$, $0.0001mg\;L^{-1}$, $0.174mg\;L^{-1}$, $0.083mg\;L^{-1}$, and $0.0004mg\;L^{-1}$, respectively. In addition, among various geologies, average concentration of selenium was the highest in igneous rock region, average concentrations of chromium, manganese and aluminum were the greatest in sedimentary rock region, and average concentration of iron was the most high in metamorphic rock region. As a result of the geological background concentration with pre-selection method, background concentrations of selenium and aluminum in groundwater samples were the highest from sedimentary rock as $0.0010mg\;L^{-1}$ and $0.0029mg\;L^{-1}$ and background concentrations of manganese and iron in groundwater samples were the greatest from metamorphic rock as $0.460mg\;L^{-1}$ and $1.574mg\;L^{-1}$, and no chromium background concentration in groundwater samples was found from all geology.

        A Mixture of Curcumin, Vitamin C, and E Prolongs the Antioxidant Effect to Beyond That of Each Component Alone in Vivo

        This study aimed to investigate the alterations in plasma antioxidant activity after the consumption of a single oral dose of curcumin, vitamin C, and E administered individually or in combination to (ⅰ) assess possible synergies or antagonism between the antioxidants and (ⅱ) determine the optimal composition of the antioxidant mixture such that the duration of action is prolonged to beyond that of individual antioxidants. Each antioxidant was administered to male Sprague-Dawley rats, and blood samples were drawn at different time points up to 180 min to measure the plasma total antioxidant capacity (TAC). Five antioxidant compositions (M1-M5) were evaluated to assess the possible synergies or antagonisms among them and to determine the optimal composition of the antioxidant mixture. Blood samples were collected up to 360 min post-consumption. A single oral dose of individual antioxidants significantly increased the TAC values; however, the time to reach the peak TAC value varied. Among the 5 antioxidant compositions, M2 exhibited the highest and most prolonged antioxidant effect in plasma; this was greater than the proportional sum of the effects of the individual antioxidants in the composition. This result indicates a synergistic interaction among antioxidants in the optimal composition M2.

      • Design of GPCA Structure Based on Quantum-Dot Cellular Automata

        In this paper, we propose a design of general programmable cellular automata(GPCA) structure based on quantum-dot cellular automata(QCA). In the proposed GPCA structure, we utilize the previous D flip-flop and XOR logic gate, and propose wire connecting logic and rule control logic for the first time. In experiment, we simulate the GPCA design by using QCADesigner, compare and analyze the simulation result in order to evaluate the efficiency of the proposed GPCA structure.
