Vol.25 No.-

As the storage capacity of a computer system is rapidly increasing and the cost of computer hardware is decreasing continuously, users can easily manage multimedia data on the personal computer. Especially, various image view programs are widely used to manage image files at the present time. However, since most of these programs do not use a database management system(DBMS), it is very difficult for users to use them efficiently. In this paper, we designed and implemented a Digital Album by using an object-relational database management system, called PARODY(Persistent, Almost, Relational Object Database sYstem) that implements a persistent object database with a relatively simple interface to its C++ class library. Since PARODY is used as a data storage manager of the Digital Album, users can manage(i.e., insert, update, and delete) an image database and search for the required image data from the image database easily. In addition, we use OWL(Object Windows Library) of Borland C++ to implement the user interface of the Digital Album efficiently.

      • Network Routing Optimization based on Mixed Particle Method Research

2015 International Journal of Future Generation Communi Vol.8 No.4

Particle swarm optimization (POS) algorithm is a reference to the mechanism of the biological predation community of a random search algorithm, the validity of its search, got extensive application in many ways. But the particle swarm algorithm has poor local search ability and easy early faults. So on the basis of it, combined with the genetic algorithm is proposed based on a mixed particle swarm algorithm. The new algorithm USES the similar to the mutation and crossover operation of genetic algorithm, speed and position update formula easier to express. To primary respectively after the particle group division evolution, global optimization to the formation of new species.Applied in the IP network quality of service routing optimization mixed POS algorithm, both meet the requirement of quality of service and will choose the path cost minimum as the optimization index.Through a series of simulation experiments of network routing, the improved algorithm has good effect.

Don Quijote y La dignidad del hombre

Vol.0 No.41

Ultimate strength of rectangular concrete-filled steel tubular (CFT) stub columns under axial compression

        Yan-sheng Huang,Yue-Ling Long,Jian Cai 2008 Steel and Composite Structures, An International J Vol.8 No.2

A method is proposed to estimate the ultimate strength of rectangular concrete-filled steel tubular (CFT) stub columns under axial compression. The ultimate strength of concrete core is determined by using the conception of the effective lateral confining pressure and a failure criterion of concrete under true triaxial compression, which takes into account the difference between the lateral confining pressure provided by the broad faces of the steel tube and that provided by the narrow faces of the steel tube. The longitudinal steel strength of broad faces and that of the narrow faces of the steel tube are calculated respectively due to that buckling tends to occur earlier and more extensively on the broader faces. Finally, the proposed method is verified with experimental results. Corresponding values of ultimate strength calculated by ACI (2005), AISC (1999) and GJB4142-2000 are given respectively for comparison. It is found from comparison that the proposed method shows a good agreement with the experimental results.

MicroRNA Regulation in Systemic Lupus Erythematosus Pathogenesis

        Yan, Sheng,Yim, Lok Yan,Lu, Liwei,Lau, Chak Sing,Chan, Vera Sau-Fong The Korean Association of Immunobiologists 2014 Immune Network Vol.14 No.3

MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are endogenous small RNA molecules best known for their function in post-transcriptional gene regulation. Immunologically, miRNA regulates the differentiation and function of immune cells and its malfunction contributes to the development of various autoimmune diseases including systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). Over the last decade, accumulating researches provide evidence for the connection between dysregulated miRNA network and autoimmunity. Interruption of miRNA biogenesis machinery contributes to the abnormal T and B cell development and particularly a reduced suppressive function of regulatory T cells, leading to systemic autoimmune diseases. Additionally, multiple factors under autoimmune conditions interfere with miRNA generation via key miRNA processing enzymes, thus further skewing the miRNA expression profile. Indeed, several independent miRNA profiling studies reported significant differences between SLE patients and healthy controls. Despite the lack of a consistent expression pattern on individual dysregulated miRNAs in SLE among these studies, the aberrant expression of distinct groups of miRNAs causes overlapping functional outcomes including perturbed type I interferon signalling cascade, DNA hypomethylation and hyperactivation of T and B cells. The impact of specific miRNA-mediated regulation on function of major immune cells in lupus is also discussed. Although research on the clinical application of miRNAs is still immature, through an integrated approach with advances in next generation sequencing, novel tools in bioinformatics database analysis and new in vitro and in vivo models for functional evaluation, the diagnostic and therapeutic potentials of miRNAs may bring to fruition in the future.

Two New Triterpenoid Acids from Kadsura coccinea

        Yan Song,Qing-Jie Zhao,Yong-Sheng Jin,Chuan-Wei Feng,Hai-Sheng Chen 대한약학회 2010 Archives of Pharmacal Research Vol.33 No.12

An investigation of EtOAc extracts of Kadsura coccinea (Lem.) A. C. Smith, has led to the isolation of two new compounds characterized as 3-hydroxy-12-hydroxyl coccinic acid (1) and 3-hydroxy-neokadsuranic acid A (2). Their structures were established by 1D and 2D NMR techniques and mass spectroscopy. Antiproliferative effects of the isolated compounds were evaluated against four human tumor cell lines (A549, HCT116, HL-60 and HepG2), and it was found that compound 1 exhibited antiproliferative effects with IC50 values ranging from 3.01 to 18.08 μg/mL.

Sensory involvement in the SOD1-G93A mouse model of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis

        Yan-Su Guo,Dong-Xia Wu,Hong-Ran Wu,Shu-Yu Wu,Cheng Yang,Bin Li,Hui Bu,Yue-sheng Zhang,Chun-Yan Li 생화학분자생물학회 2009 Experimental and molecular medicine Vol.41 No.3

A subset of patients of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) present with mutation of Cu/Zn superoxide dismutase 1 (SOD1), and such mutants caused an ALSlike disorder when expressed in rodents. These findings implicated SOD1 in ALS pathogenesis and made the transgenic animals a widely used ALS model. However, previous studies of these animals have focused largely on motor neuron damage. We report herein that the spinal cords of mice expressing a human SOD1 mutant (hSOD1-G93A), besides showing typical destruction of motor neurons and axons, exhibit significant damage in the sensory system, including Wallerian-like degeneration in axons of dorsal root and dorsal funiculus, and mitochondrial damage in dorsal root ganglia neurons. Thus, hSOD1-G93A mutation causes both motor and sensory neuropathies, and as such the disease developed in the transgenic mice very closely resembles human ALS.
