17a-Hydroxylase deficiency is a rare form of congenital adrenal hyperplasia that is characterized by primary amenorrhea, absence of secondary sex characteristics, hypertension, and a hypokalemic alkalosis that has resulted resulting from increased production of deoxycorticosterone and corticosterone by the adrenal. The diagnosis of this enzyme deficiency can be recognized by the increasing serum concen- trations of steroid precursors, DOC and corticosterone and the decreasing concentrations of cortisol, and adrenal androgens. We diagnased this in a 19 year old female who presented with primary amenorrhea. We report this case with a review of the literatures (J Kor Soc Endocrinol 16:130-133, 200l).

콘크리트 구조물이 대형화됨에 따라 설계단면이 증대되어 상대적으로 많은 경제적 손실을 부담하게 된다. 따라서 단면을 감소시키면서도 소요의 하중에 안전한 구조물을 건설하기 위해서는 우선적으로 구조물 건설에 기초가 되는 고품질, 고내구성의 고강도 콘크리트 개발이 절실히 요구된다 본 연구에서는 일정 시멘트비 및 혼화재 비율하에서 소요의 워커빌리티가 확보되는 고강도 콘크리트를 시간과 온도의 변화에 따라 증기 양생하여, 압축, 인장, 휨강도 뿐만 아니라 파괴특성을 실험적으로 연구하였다. 시료 제작시 시멘트 입자 사이의 공극 및 불연속 영역을 충전하여 고밀도화하기 위한 콘크리트용 혼화재로 시멘트 비표면적이 상당히 작은 초미립 분말인 실리카흄을 이용하였다. 또한 AE감수제 및 고성능 유동화제를 사용하여 혼화재의 첨가에 의하여 발생될 수 있는 워커빌리티의 감소를 방지하였다. 실험결과에 의하면 일정 양생 지속 시간하에서 온도의 증가에 따라 콘크리트의 압축, 인장 및 휨강도가 전반적으로 증가하였다. 동일하게 일정 온도하에서 양생 지속시간이 커짐에 따라 강도들이 증가됨을 알 수 있었다. 따라서 상대적으로 높은 온도와 긴 지속 양생 조건하에서 파괴에 대한 저항력이 크게 나타났다. The compressible, tensible, and flexibleresistance of the high strength concrete is analyzed by the experimentation in the present study. For the test, we cure several samples with the silica fume as a mixture being become dense the spaces between the particle of cement under the variation of both the temperature and the curing-interval. Then, the superplasticizer and the ezcon are also used to satisfy the required workability for construction. The compressible, tensible, and flexible resistances to a stress are increased as increasing the temperature and the time interval for the curing. Therefore it is concluded that the overal fractural and mechanical properties is improved by mixing the silica fume into the cement.
Effects of Macrophage Inflammatory Protein-1α on Osteoclast Generation and Activity

Recent studies demonstrated that myeloma cells produce osteoclast-activating factors that enhanced ostroclastic bone resorption and showed macrophage inflammatory protein 1-α (MIP-1α) as an osteoclast activating factor produced by myeloma cells in vivo. This study was to evaluate the osteoclastogenic activity of MIP-1α in normal mouse bone marrow cultures to investigate the potential mechanism of action ov MIP-1α in multiple myeloma. Effect of MIP-1α was examined on the generation of osteoclast and osteoclastic resorption activity from various culture system. Tartrate-resistant acid phosphatase (TRAP) stain was performed to determine the geneartion of osteoclast. Resorption pits were measured for the activity of osteoclast. MIP-1α at the concentration range of 8~200pg/ml significantly stimulate the formation of osteoclasts in M-CSF-dependent bone marrow macrophage (MDBM cell), total mouse bone marrow cell and RAW264.7 cell culture. At the 10 and 100ng/ml MIP-α has been shown to decrease M-CSF and osteoclast differentiation factor (ODF)-induced osteoclast generation in MDBM cell culture. MIP-1α had no effect on the osteoclast generation induced osteoclast formation induced by interleukin (IL)-1β in MDBM cell cultures. To confirm that MIP-1α could act indirectly on ODE, we analyzed the effect of osteoprotegerin (OPG). OPG blocked the osteoclast formation and osteoclastic resorption induced by MIP-1α ODF-induced osteoclastic resorption were stimulated in all the concentration ranges employed. However, TNF-α/IL-1β-indeced osteoclastic activity MIP-1α. This results suggested that MIP-1α does not act directly on osteoclast precursors, but increases osteoclast formation indirectly via acting on osteoblast, and enhancing the effects of IL-1β on osteoclastogenesis.

수동형 RFID(Radio Frequency Identification)는 제한된 자원을 가지고 있으며, 무선채널을 사용하는 기술이다. 하지만 도청과 같은 악의적인 공격과 프라이버시 침해와 같은 문제점이 있으며, 이를 해결하기 위한 각종 암호화 기법 및 알고리즘과 인증 프로토콜이 있다. AES(Advanced Encryption Standard)는 RFID 에 적용 가능한 대표적인 대칭키 암호화 알고리즘으로써 그 안정성이 검증되었지만, RFID 태그에서 사용하기 위해서는 키 분배와 같은 문제점을 해결하여야 한다. 본 논문에서는 AES 와 난수사용을 기반으로 하는 개선된 RFID 인증 프로토콜을 제안한다. 리더에서 발생된 난수는 새로운 키를 생성하고, 태그와 리더를 인증하는 용도로 사용하며, 난수를 통해 생성된 키는 메시지를 암호화 하는데 이용한다. 따라서, 본 논문의 난수사용은 대칭키의 노출을 막아 키 분배 문제를 해결하며, 인증 단계를 줄일 수 있다. 또한, 태그에서 한번의 암호화만 수행되므로 태그에 발생하는 오버헤드를 최소화하며 도청, 재전송, 스푸핑 및 위치 추적과 같은 공격에도 안전하다.
Alignment tolerant expanded beam connector based on a gapless fiber-lens interface

<P>An expanded beam connector (EBC) has been proposed and realized, where a single-mode fiber is seamlessly integrated with a ball lens exhibiting a near-zero back focal length (BFL) so that the incoming small mode exiting the fiber translates into an enlarged collimated beam via the lens. The structural tolerance for the fiber-optic connector is primarily relaxed by relieving the restrictions imposed on the meticulous control of the gap between the lens and the fiber. The EBC has been designed through rigorous ray-optic simulations and then constructed based on a ball lens in LASF35 (n = similar to 1.98 at lambda = 1.3 mu m), exhibiting an ultrashort BFL of similar to 13 mu m. It was practically confirmed that an input mode of a similar to 10 mu m spot relating to the single-mode fiber could be efficiently converted into a highly collimated beam of a similar to 350 mu m spot that emanates from the ball lens, leading to a 35-fold beam expansion. The alignment tolerance for the fiber as well as the connector unit was scrutinized with respect to the angular tilt and transverse displacement. The measured insertion loss for the EBC, allowing for no separation between the fiber and ball lens, was slightly over 0.8 dB. (C) 2016 Optical Society of America</P>

One of the cardinal findings of the renal diseases is proteinuria, which appears in the early phase of kidney diseases and is very important in diagnosis, prognosis and decision making in the treatment process and results of the treatment. The study subjects were 126 patients who visited the nephrology department of Kangbuk Samsung Hospital. Serum was requested for urine protein electrophoresis. Total protein was measured with Bayer Advia 1650 (Biuret). Quantitation of each fraction was done by multiplying the percentage of each fraction by the total protein. Serum creatinine and BUN were also measured with Bayer Advia 1650 (Jaffe and Urease). Serum protein EP was done with REP(rapid electrophoresis) using Helena Kit reagents (REP Ultra SPE Kit, Ponceau S stain, Acetic acid, Methanol, EP Control). Concentrated urine was used for urine protein EP. The SPSS package was used for statistics analysis. Percentage and quantitation of the level of albumin in renal diseases were significantly lower than those in healthy controls. Total protein was correlated with albumin. In terms of proportion, α1-globulin, α2-globulin, β-globulin, and γ-globulin fractions were increased in the disease group. But, in the quantified level, α2-globulin was increased and β -globulin and γ-globulin were decreased. ESRD patients showed an increased secretion of high molecular proteins in urine protein EP. A decreased level in serum total protein correlated with the decreased level of serum albumin and the total amount of urine total protein. This study revealed the variety in the level of serum and urine proteins and their subgroups by EP.
