        Prevalence of Haplorchis taichui among humans and fish in Luang Prabang Province, Lao PDR

        This study confirmed the prevalence of the intestinal fluke Haplorchis taichui (Trematoda: Heterophyidae) among people and fish in Luang Prabang Province, Lao PDR. Fecal specimens were collected from 559 riparian people (229 males and 330 females), residing in 4 Districts (Luang Prabang, Xieng Ngeun, Pak Ou, and Nam Bak) and were examined by the Kato-Katz fecal smear technique. The overall helminth egg positive rate was 64.9%. The positive rate for small trematode eggs (STE), which may include H. taichui and other heterophyids, Opisthorchis viverrini, and lecithodendriids, was 15.2%. For recovery of adult helminths, 10 STE-positive people were treated with 40mg/kg praziquantel and 15mg/kg pyrantel pamoate, and then purged. Mixed infections with 3 Haplorchis species (H. taichui, H. pumilio, and H. yokogawai), a species of cestode (Taenia saginata), and several species of nematodes including Enterobius vermicularis and hookworms were found. The worm load for trematodes was exclusively high for H. taichui with an average of 7691 specimens per infected person, followed by H. yokogawai (8.3 specimens) and H. pumilio (4.1 specimens). Out of 207 freshwater fish (17 species) purchased in a market in Luang Prabang District, 138 (67%) harboured H. taichui metacercariae (metacercarial burden per fish; 520). Lower prevalence of fish and lower metacercarial density were observed for H. yokogawai (52% and 50 per fish, respectively) and H. pumilio (18% and 3 per fish, respectively). STE found in the surveyed population of Luang Prabang Province were verified to be those of intestinal fukes, particularly H. taichui.

        돈분뇨 고액분리액 시용에 따른 혼파초지의 생산성과 토양화학적 특성의 변화

        This experiment was carried out to determine the effect of the swine liquid manure separated its slurry on the dry matter yield, botanical composition and soil characteristics at pasture. The results obtained at National Livestock Research Institute(RDA), in Suwon from 1994 to 1997 are summarized as follows; The dry matter yields of swine slurry nitrogen 100%(T3), 75%(T4) and 50%(T5) were showed 94%, 91% and 75% of chemical fertilizer(T2)'s yield, respectively. and it was not significant difference between the yield of chemical fertilizer(T2) and swine liquid manure(50%)+chemical fertilizer(50%). According to application of swine liquid manure, the weed ratios of its plots were lowed by increasing its coverage and grasses. We conclude that the application of swine liquid manure(50%)+chemical fertilizer(50%) can be applied on grassland without adverse effect on dry matter production, quality of herbage, soil chemical properties.

        한국잔디 수집계통들 중에서 우수계통들의 생육특성 비교

        2001년 수집된 한국잔디 133계통들 중에서 우수한 계통들을 선발하기위하여 밀도(품질),<br/> 피복성, 녹색기간, 내병성, 출수유무(종자수) 등의 주요특성과 그 외 생육특성들이 조사되었다. 생육특성이 우수한 6계통이 선발되었으며 그 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다.<br/> 수집된 133계통들 중에서 가장 녹색기간이긴 계통은 J01067으로 11월초까지 녹색도를 유지하였다. J01106 및 J01129 계통들은 엽폭이 각각 1.5mm 및 2mm 정도로 매우 좁으며, 밀도가 높고, 피복성도 좋은 것으로 나타났으며, 내병성도 강하였다. J01122 계통은 들잔디 계통들 중에서 유일하게 내병성이 강한 계통으로 선발되었다. J01128 계통은 엽폭이 3.2mm로 중엽에 속하였으며, 대비품종인 Sunburst 와 비슷하였다. 이 계통의 경우도J01106, J01129 계통들과 마찬가지로 밀도가 높고 내병성이 강한 것으로 나타났다.<br/> 수집된 133계통들의 형태적 분류를 위하여 5가지의 생육특성을 사용하여 크게 세가지 군집<br/> 으로 분류하였으며, 그 중에서 대비품종으로 사용된 6품종들과 선발된 우수 6계통의 분류는<br/> 다음과 같다. 제 1군집에 속하는 품종 및 계통은 Belare, Meyer, 안양중지(Anyang-jungji), J01067, J01112 등이 포함되었으며, 제 2군집으로는 S-94, J01105가 포함되었고, 제 3군집에는 Sunburst, 건희(Konhee), J01106, J01128, J01129 등이 포함되었다. Growth characteristics such as density(quality), covering speed, green period, disease resistance, heading existence(number of seeds) and other characteristics were examined for selection of superior lines among the 133 zoysiagrass lines collected in 2001. Six superior lines were selected and the results were summarized as follows.<br/> Superior line, J01067 was longest for green period among the 133 zoysiagrasses and stayed green until the beginning of November. Leaf width of J01106 and J01129 lines was very narrow as 1.5㎜ and 2㎜, respectively and superior for density(quality), covering speed and disease resistance. J01122 line was selected for strongest disease resistance among the lines of Zoysia japonica. Leaf width of J01128 was 3.2㎜ showing midium type and similar to standard cultivar, Sunburst. This line also showed higher density and strong disease resistance like J01106 and J01129.<br/> Five growth characteristics for morphological classification of 133 zoysiagrass lines<br/> was used and divided into 3 cluster groups. Of 133 lines, 6 standard cultivars and 6 superior lines were classified as follows. First cluster group contained Belare, Meyer, Anyang-jungji, J01067, J01122, and second group contained S-94 and J01105, and third group contained Sunburst, Konhee, J01106, J01128 and J01129.<br/> <br/>

        In the last ten years there has been a dramatic change in the electrical industry regarding its technology and capability. VLSI circuits technologies have brought about the develoment of computers, digital communications, digital control systems, and others. The microprocessor now is appearing in the simplest appliances as well as in complex systems, permeating all of engineering. This paper is presented as a proposal for a more improved education courses for technical high school students preparing to enter this dynamic electronic industry. The current curricula, and their syllabuses, of the electronic deparments of typical technical high schools were analyzed, and their teachers and instructors, as well as technicians in electronic companies, were consulted about the education courses. The results of this study are follow: 1. The fields of digital circuits and systems using IC and LSI should be emphasized in the current curricula and the subject of microprocessor applications should be added. 2. The current ratio of the theoretical; subject hours vs laboratory /shop practice hours should be rearranged at about same ratio through effective laboratory systems. 3. A retraining course for experimental instructors and supervisors should be provided, similar to that provided for teachers. 4. Technical high school education should avoid the erroneous philosophy of training the student only sufficiently to pass the qualification examination.

        치성 낭종 적출술후 사용된 HAP의 효과에 대한 임상적 방사선학적 연구

        Many alloplastic materials have been used as the bony substitute in large bony defects caused by fracture, periodontitis, & cyst, etc. Nowadays Hydroxyapatite(HAP) is the most usable material as the bony substitute. The reasonable properties of HAP are nontoxic, biocompatible to host tissues & have osteoconductivity. Other bioceramic materials are recommended as the bony substitute with high success rate. We have studied the clinical use of HAP as the bony substitute in the defected area caused by cyst. The reasonalbe & successful results are obtained. The results were as followed. 1. Better prognosis was obtained in the case of HAP & bone mixed graft than HAP graft only. And the best prognosis was obtained in the case of iliac bone graft. 2. Better prognosis was obtained in Mx. than in Mn. 3. It seems that the soft tissue ingrowth into the HAP granule play an importnat role in the success of the HAP graft. 4. Though the flap covering the HAP granules was perforated, the relative good prognosis was obtained by re - suturing the perforeated site.

        본원 치과에 내원한 치성낭종(Odontogenic Cyst)환자에 대한 임상적 고찰

        Odontogenic cyst has been reviewed with a report on the 193 cases clinico-statistically. We found that cysts occur frequently at third decade male as 29% and second decade female as 30%. Maxilla is prevalent site as 74.6% than mandible. Uper incisiors and lower third molars are the most prebalant teeth. Swelling is the most frequent chief complaint. After enucleating, we grafted to the cystic cavities in 10 cases.

      • Enhanced electrical stability of nitrate ligand-based hexaaqua complexes solution-processed ultrathin a-IGZO transistors

        <P>We report solution-processed, amorphous indium–gallium–zinc-oxide-based (a-IGZO-based) thin-film transistors (TFTs). Our proposed solution-processed a-IGZO films, using a simple spin-coating method, were formed through nitrate ligand-based metal complexes, and they were annealed at low temperature (250 °C) to achieve high-quality oxide films and devices. We investigated solution-processed a-IGZO TFTs with various thicknesses, ranging from 4 to 16 nm. The 4 nm-thick TFT films had smooth morphology and high-density, and they exhibited excellent performance, i.e. a high saturation mobility of 7.73  ±  0.44 cm<SUP>2</SUP> V<SUP>−1</SUP> s<SUP>−1</SUP>, a sub-threshold swing of 0.27 V dec<SUP>−1</SUP>, an on/off ratio of ~10<SUP>8</SUP>, and a low threshold voltage of 3.10  ±  0.30 V. However, the performance of the TFTs degraded as the film thickness was increased. We further performed positive and negative bias stress tests to examine their electrical stability, and it was noted that the operating behavior of the devices was highly stable. Despite a small number of free charges, the high performance of the ultrathin a-IGZO TFTs was attributed to the small effect of the thickness of the channel, low bulk resistance, the quality of the a-IGZO/SiO<SUB>2</SUB> interface, and high film density.</P>
