A Case Study on the Ecological Restoration of the Collapsed Natural slope in Jeju Island

Collapse caused by heavy rain occurred in Seogwipo, Jeju. As the natural cliff collapsed, it damaged the Jeju Island's first-class ecological conservation area and urgently called for restoration. The collapse site is bordered by the coast and forms a very steep slope of 65 meters and at that time a small new construction was built on the upper slope of the natural cliff. Geology of Jeju Island belongs to the Seogwipo stratum in Paleocene, Late Tertiary and volcanic debris in Plistocene, Quarternary. And geological composition of this local area is Basaltic-Trachytic Andesite, Tradhyte, Traghytic Basalt from the lower part. Trachytic rock with horizontal and vertical joint has orbicular weathered and large scale roch fall. Trachytic Basalt with crinkers, veciculars and sheeting joint and systematic vertical joint was led rock fall. For Low-altitude proximity to the target area was used a multi-copter unmanned aerial vehicle and full HD with PHANTOM 2 VISION+. On the basis of on-site drilling investigation and face mapping on the excavation surface, a slope stability analysis was conducted through a stereo projection analysis, the limit equilibrium analysis and a finite element analysis. Stability analysis shows that the main cause of slope failure is defacts of geological factors and construction of new structures. The method of high-strength tension net, which has been chosen as the method to counter the slope stabilization, is evaluated as the most suitable method for restoring the slope collapsed in certain geological conditions and ecological environment, and is currently being successfully maintained.

In rock mass, great many discontinuity exists that is caused to various factors of formation. But these are parted to some groups by specific category, so called these as discontinuity set. This discontinuity set has unique special characteristics in original rock mass, but for the moment, differ the special quality if external force such as digging etc.. acts, specially, change of stress condition. Also, geometrical relation change between discontinuity orientation and direction of excavation various characteristic is seen. Therefore, we introduce here the useful chart that can do specification these relation.

Usually, cut-slope is the term that call rock slope. Therefore, the cause of instability of cut-slope is influenced generally in lithological and structure geological qualities including weathering disintegration. Through the several case studies, we could confirm that stabilization countermeasure also should be based in geological properties.
담마진과 아토피 피부염에 대한 Astemizole의 치료 효과에 관한 연구 : 공동연구 Multicenter Trials

Authors performed a clinical study to evalute the therapeutic effect of Astemizole on urticaria and atopic dermatitis. Totally 88patients including 66 urticaria patients(acute urticaria, 16; chronic urticaria, 23; factitious urticaria, 27) and 22 atopic dermatitis patients were studied by oral administration of 10 ㎎ Astemizole tablet daily for 6 weeks. The estimation of therapeutic effect was done by the measurement of duration until disappearance of symptoms(erythema, wheal and pruritus in acute and chronic urticaria; pruritus and dermographism in factitious urticaria; pruitus in atopic dermatitis). The results were as follows: 1. Acute urticaria; The percentage of patients who showed therapeutic effect was 81.2%(excellent, 31.2% ; good, 37.5% ; fair, 12.5%). This was statistically significant in difference vs poor(p<0.01). 2. Chronic urticaria; The percentage of patients who showed therapeutic effect was 87.0%(excellent, 34.8% ; good, 43.5% ; fair , 8.7%). This was statistically significant in difference vs poor(p<0.01). 3. Factitious urticaria; The percentage of patients who showed therapeutic effect was 85.2%(excellent, 33.3% ; good, 40.7% ; fair, 11.2%). This was statistically significant in difference vs poor(p<0.01). 4. Atopic dermatitis; The percentage of patients who showed therapeutics effect was 81.8%(excellent, 36.4% ; good, 409% ; fair,4.5%). This was statistically significant in difference vs poor(p<0.01). 5. During the study, 11 patients observed side effects(sedation, 5; dry mouth, 4; gastric discomfort, 2). Therefore we have impressed that Astemizole is an effective antihistamine which develop less side effects than other antihistamines for urticaria and atopic dermatitis.
