        The diffuse sclerosing variant (DSV) is a rare malignant tumour that accounts for 0.7-5.3% of all papillary thyroid cancers. DSV tends to occur at a younger age and has a higher incidence of cervical lymph node metastases, compared with papillary thyroid carcinoma. A 62-year-old female patient diagnosed thyroid nodule with diffuse and mild increased 18F-deoxy-glucose (FDG) on FDG positron emission tomography (PET)-computed tomogram (CT) scan. The ultrasound images showed typical findings of DSV such as diffusely enlarged thyroid lobes and diffusely scattered microcalcification. We performed this patient ultrasonography guided fine needle aspiration and cytologic analysis revealed papillary carcinoma. Total thyroidectomy with central compartment node dissection and lateral lymph node dissection was performed and finally diagnosed DVS. The authors report this case with literature review.

        In spite of the great literary achievement of Choi hae-goon's novels and short stories which have leaded the fiction of Pusan, the synthetic study of the style of his literary work did not have been accomplished. The purpose of this study is to lay the foundation of the research of Choi hae-goon's literary works, and to motivate his literary view estimated deservedly and valued in a history of literature. The style of Choi hae-goon's fiction considered by applying the methodology of Sharls Bally and Leo spitzer and approached by using the statistical method which is based on analysis of language data and psychological method paralleled. The stylistic features on his works are as follows 1) Tone expresses the retrenchment and the implication by the method of understatement. And it shows strong resistance and objectifies the author's spirit of negation. It reveals the stylistic feature's double structure of consciousness. 2) The recurrent images are the taste by his characteristics of the tenacity and the obstinacy. It is the mind of recurrence for purity and prime of nature's original form. 3) The stylistic features by the figurative images are the materialization and sociality. Symbols are contracted into the symbol word which is suggestive. 4) The panoramic narrative technique avoids monotony and ensures being economical and enhances felling of present and vitality by dramatic technique. It is the stylistic feature which shows the concreteness and the kindness. 5) The most remarkable stylistic feature is the indirect interior monologue, which is the style indirect libre being attempted as an experiment. 6) The using of noun and uninflected word has superiority. And his style is short and clear, and very impressive. 7) Normal length of sentence is short. His mind is very stabilized. His personality is harmonious and smooth. And it keeps the feeling of united balance. 8) Choi hae-goon's fiction has the story of historical happening. And he represents object from a view of itself. 9) His using of termination words is very various. 10) The present tense of termination is used very often. That's because, it is a psychological description which describes the inside conscious.

      • 이동체의 궤적 및 현재 위치에 대한 시공간 인덱스

        시간에 따라 연속적으로 위치가 변화하는 객체를 이동체라 한다. 기존의 R-Tree를 사용한 이동체 색인에 관한 연구에서는 현재 위치 질의 시 고비용의 연산이 요구되고, 시간축의 값이 증가하는 방향으로 보고되는 이동체의 위치데이터의 특징을 고려한 노드 분할 정책이 제안되지 않았다. 이 논문에서는 이동체의 현재 위치 및 과거 위치에 대한 색인 방법인 CPTR-Tree(Current Position and Trajectory R-Tree)를 제안한다. 특히, 제안 방법에서 이동체의 현재 위치에 대한 공간차원의 PMBR(Point MBR)을 유지함으로써, 현재 위치 질의 처리시 불필요한 노드 접근 횟수를 줄일 수 있어 성능향상을 할 수 있다. 그리고, 시간축의 값이 증가하는 형태로 보고되는 이동체 위치 데이터의 특징을 고려하여 시간축 분할시 SP(Split Parameter) 분할 방법을 제공함으로써 노드 공간 활용률을 높여 색인의 크기를 줄이고, 공간축 분할시 노드 겹침을 줄이는 동적 클리핑 분할 정책을 제시하여 이동체 과거 위치 검색 효율을 높인다.

      • Isothermal crystallization behavior of metallocene-catalyzed isotactic polypropylene

        <P>Isothermal crystallization behavior of isotactic polypropylene (iPP) synthesized using metallocene catalyst was investigated in this work. The isotacticity of the polypropylene was characterized by <SUP>13</SUP>C-NMR spectroscopy. It was found that the melting temperature (T<SUB>m</SUB>) of the iPP is 123.51°C and the crystallization temperature (T<SUB>c</SUB>) is 93°C. The iPP synthesized in this work did not show a general increase of T<SUB>m</SUB> with an increase of crystallization temperature T<SUB>c</SUB>, due to the short crystallization time of 20 min and low molecular weight (number average molecular weight = 6,300). The iPP showed a tendency of increasing heat of fusion (ΔH<SUB>f</SUB>) with decreasing crystallization temperature. All the spherulites of iPP samples showed negative birefringence. For the iPP sample crystallized at the highest T<SUB>c</SUB> (= 123°C, just below T<SUB>m</SUB>), the spherulite showed a pronounced Maltese Cross and a continuous sheaf-like texture aligning radially, which suggests that R-lamellaes are dominant in this spherulite.         회장에 장폐색을 유발한 Anisakiasis 1예

        Anisakiasis refers to the infestation of humans by species of marine nematode larvae belonging to the subfamily Anisakiae. An acute abdominal symptom may occur after ingestion of raw marine fish containing nematode larvae of the genus Anisakis. Migration of the parasite into the wall of gtomach, small intestine or, less commomly, the colon elicits a striking eosinophilic granulomatous tissue response. A 39 year old man was visited St. Vincent Hospital because of abdominal distension and tenderness. The plain abdominal X-ray showed ileus pattern suggesting intestinal obstruction. Hence we presented a case of intestinal Anisakiasis combined with intstinal obstruction.

      • The Anti-osteoporotic Effect of Aqueous Extracts of Gastrodiae Rhizoma <i>In Vitro</i> and <i>In Vivo</i>

        <P>The anti-osteoporotic effects of aqueous extracts of Gastrodiae Rhizoma (GR) were observed <I>in vitro</I> and <I>in vivo</I>. The effects on proliferation and alkaline phosphatase activity of primary osteoblasts, bone nodule formation, pit formation of osteoclasts and osteoclastogenesis were observed <I>in vitro</I>, and to observe the <I>in vivo</I> efficacy GR were orally administered once a day for 28 days to bilateral ovariectomy-induced osteoporosis mice at 125, 250 and 500 mg/kg. GR extracts enhanced the proliferation, differentiation, and bone nodule formation of primary cultured osteoblasts, but they inhibited the pit formation and the number of multinucleated osteoclast-like cells, osteoclastogenesis <I>in vitro</I>. As results of ovariectomy-induced osteoporotic process, dramatical decreases of bone weights and thickness of bone at epiphyseal regions, bone Ca and P contents, bone mineral density and failure load, serum Ca and P levels with increase of serum osteocalcin level. At histopathology-histomorphometry, dramatical decreases of trabecular and cortical bone masses were detected with classic histomorphometrical changes of bones including decrease of trabecular bone volume, thickness, length and number and cortical bone thickness and increase of osteoclast/bone perimeter. Hoevere, these estrogen-deficient osteoporotic changes were also dramatically and dose-dependently inhibited by treatment of all three different dosages of GR extracts. It was concluded that GR extracts has relatively good favorable effect to prevention and/or treatment of ovariectomy (OVX)-induced osteoporosis through osteoblast activation and inhibition of osteoclastogenesis and osteoclast activity.</P>

        필로티 반자 내 화재 시 단열재 화염확산 특성연구

        In piloti-type structures, large-scale fires frequently occur because insulation materials in the ceiling are ignited. However,the spread of fire in these cases is not well known. Therefore, this study conducted small-scale (1.0 m × 1.0 m) tests andreal-scale model tests. According to the results, we clarified the fire spread, temperature variation over time, and the effectsof insulation materials in fire sites. For the small-scale tests, the internal structure of the ceiling was extruded polystyrene(XPS) + sheet molding compound (SMC), retardant expanded polystyrene (Retardant EPS) + sheet molding compound(SMC), and extruded polystyrene (XPS) + design metal ceiling (DMC). From the small-scale and large-scale tests thatsimulated a fire in a piloti-type structure, the flow of heat in the interior space and the cause of a large fire were identified. The tests were conducted with EPS+DMC, defined as the best-case scenario, and XPS+SMC, defined as the worst-casescenario during a fire accident. The results from the tests showed that combustion began when the insulation material wasexposed to the fire source. Then, molten XPS fell onto the SMC, establishing a new fire source that destroyed the ceilingmaterial, leading to increased combustion due to the inflow of oxygen. 본 논문에서는 필로티 구조 건축물의 천장(반자 위) 공간 내부를 모사한 축소모형과 실대화재 실험을 통해 천장(반자 위) 단열재, 천장재에 따른 화재확산의 정도, 시간에 따른 온도변화를 확인하였다. 축소모형 실험의 천장공간내부구조는 압출법 단열재(XPS 단열재) + 열경화성수지 천장재(SMC), 난연 비드법 단열재(난연 EPS) + 열경화성수지 천장재(SMC), 그리고 압출법 단열재(XPS) + 아연도금강판 천장재(DMC)로 예비실험을 진행하였다. 이를 바탕으로 필로티 구조 건축물 화재를 모사한 실대화재 실험을 통해 천장(반자 위) 내부 공간에서의 열의 유동 파악, 대형화재로의 확산 원인을 확인하였다. 실대화재 실험은 화재 사고를 가정하여 최상의 경우인 난연 EPS 단열재 + DMC천장재와 최악의 경우인 XPS 단열재 + SMC 천장재로 진행하였다. 실험결과, 화원에 노출된 단열재에서부터 연소가시작되어 용융된 압출법 단열재(XPS)가 열결화성수지 천장재(SMC)로 낙하하면서 새로운 화원을 형성하고 천장재가탈락하며 산소 유입에 의해 연소 확대로 이어졌다.
