        A 6 years old Schunauzer dog (7.2kg, intact female) with history of hematuria for two days was referred to the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital of Chungnam National University. Complete blood cell count showed no significant abnormalities and serum chemistry profile showed increased phosphate profile. On urinanalysis, there was evidence of bacterial infection. On ultrasonographic evaluation, irregular renal contour and increased echogenecity, pelvic and uretral dilation, and thickening of urinary bladder wall were observed. Based on these finding, the dog was diagnosed as pyelonephritis. The dog was treated with antibiotics based on antimicrobial susceptibility test results, then successfully resolved after 8 weeks of treatment.

      • 효율적 영역 기반 부호화를 위한 인간 시각 특성에 기반한 계층적 영상 분할

        본 논문에서는 주관적 화질 및 객관적 화질을 유지하면서 영역 기반 초저속 부호화에서 병목 현상을 유발하는 과다한 윤곽선 정보를 효과적으로 줄일 수 있으며, 또한 각 계층에서의 전송 정보량를 조절할 수 있는 계층적 영상 분할 알고리즘을 제안한다. 제안한 알고리즘은 각 계층에서 수리 형태학에 기반한 계층적 영상 분할과 인간 시각 시스템(HVS)특성을 고려한 영역 병합으로 구성된다. 계층적 영상 분할은 3계층으로 이루어져 있으며, 영상 분할 수 인간 시각이 구분할 수 없는 두 인접 영역을 병합한다. 이때 인간 시각 시스템 특성에 기반하여 병합 순서를 결정하는 병합 우선 순휘 함수(MPF)를 제한하여 영역 병합을 수행한다. 실험을 통하여 제안한 알고리즘은 기존의 알고리즘보다 PSNR은 평균 0.14dB 낮으나, 윤곽선 정보량은 30% 줄일 수 있었으며, 또한 각 계층에서 전송 정보량을 조절할 수 있는 적응성이 있는 영상 분할 구조임을 알 수 있었다. In this paper, a new hierarchical image segmentation algorithm based on human visual system(HVS) characteristic, which can efficiently reduce information quantity to be transmitted without the degradation of the subjective and objective image quality, and which is suitable for region-based very low bit coding because it can control information quantity to be transmitted, is proposed. It consists of image segmentation based on mathematical morphology and region merging considering HVS characteristic for the pairs of two adjacent regions at each level of the hierarchy. Image segmentation is composed of 3-level hierarchical structure and in the region merging structure of each level, we extract the pairs of two adjacent regions which human vision can't discriminate, and then merge them. Since the proposed region merging method selects two neighbor regions to be merged and performs region merging according to merging order based on HVS characteristics, it can efficiently improve bottleneck problem caused by excessive contour information at region-based very low bit rate coding. In experimental results, though the PSNR by the proposed algorithm is about 0.14dB lower than that of conventional method, the subjective image quality is almost the same and the contour information to be transmitted is reduced as much as 23.9% on the average.

      • YCbCr칼라 좌표계와 투영 기법에 기반한 적응적 얼굴 영역 추출

        본 논문에서는 적응적 피부색 구간 범위 설정을 통해 추출된 얼굴 후보 영역을 수직 및 수평 투영을 통하여 얼굴 영역을 정확히 추출할 수 있는 얼굴 영역 추출 알고리즘을 제안한다. 얼굴 후보 영역 추출시 칼라 정보를 이용하여 피부색 정보를 얻은 후, 전체 화소수와 추출된 화소수의 비에 따라 3단계로 나누어 얼굴 후보 영역을 추출함으로써 보다 정확한 얼굴 후보 영역을 추출하였다. 투영 기법에서는 얼굴 후보 영역을 수직 투영하여 얼굴 폭을 추정한 후, 추정된 정보를 수평 투영에 적용하여 얼굴 길이를 추정함으로써 최종 얼굴 영역을 추출할 수 있음을 알 수 있었다. In this paper, a face region extraction algorithm using adaptive skin color information and projection is proposed. After the extraction of face candidate image using adaptive skin color information, we project it into vertical direction to estimate the width of the face. Then the redundant parts of the face are efficiently removed by using the estimated face width. And the width information of the face is used at the horizontal projection step to extract the height of the face, and non-face regions such as the neck and some background regions, which are represented as the similar skin color, effectively eliminated. From the experiment results for the various images, the proposed algorithm shows more accurate results than the conventional algorithm.

        To evaluate the cariogenic factors of human saliva, one-hundred male and female from 20 to 24 year-old 'K' dental collage students were selected and examined. They were tested with Salivary flow rate, Salivary buffering capacity, Salivary PH, Snyder test and oral examination. The obtained results were as follows: 1. The average flow rate of stimulated saliva was 11.05㎖ in male and 6.98㎖ in female, and under the average was 45%. 2. The average stimulated salivary PH was PH 7.4 in male, PH 7.28 in female, but statistically no significant differences were found. 3. Buffering capacity of stimulated saliva was 10.59 drops in male, 9.33 drops in female, and under the avaerage was 34%. 4. In Snyder est, 74% was positive reaction:within positives 24% was mild, 28% was moderate, and 22% was active. 5. Stimulated salivary flow rate and salivary buffering capacity were reversely affect on dental caries onset of Korean twenties permanent tooth.

The effect of various coating parameters on permeation flux, such as concentration ratio of AIBN/HEMA, solvent(water or methanol). and UV irradiation time, was investigated The water permeation flux of oil-emulsion increased with concentration ratio of AIBN/HEMA. and increased with UV irradiation time The flux of the membrane coated in solution using methanol as a solvent was greater than that of the membrane coated in solution using water as a solvent The flux of both the coated and the uncoated membrane declined with the operation The flux decline means that the membrane fouling by oil-emulsion occurs However, the fouling of the coated membrane was much less than that of the uncoated membrane

        In this thesis I have studied Shakespeare's deal kingship represented in Henry Ⅴ. The central image in these plays is a composite figure which Shakespeare builds up gradually through the series of the history plays from. Henry Ⅵ to Henry Ⅴ. Henry Ⅴ is an appointed symbol of an ideal king, and the action of the play is directed to show him doing everything that the age expected of the perfect king. Henry Ⅴ takes advantage of the war against France for his idealistic notion of unified nation of' brothers, friends, and countryman' irrespective of their social status. With his unflawed, hereditary title he possesses almost all the kingly attributes. With his glorious practical virtues. courage, integrity, modesty, leadership, sense of responsibility, and a thorough knowledge of human nature. Henry Ⅴ is indeed the ideal of the king who surely attains a great sucess. But we sense something lacking in this practical hero in his successful political action. The lack of humanity in Henry Ⅴ is revealed in the relation with Falstaff, and the bloody-minded action at the war. Henry proves that political success is dependent on the repudiation of all human values, and what is good in the world of politics. is entirely unrelated to and generally the opposite of what makes for goodness in the moral life. The purpose of this study was to investigate the nature of Shakespeare's ideal kinship. The conclusion is that Shakespeare, suggesting the limitations of successful politic king, reflects his uneasiness with the values of a purely political world.

      • Lactobacillus colony count test와 Snyder test의 D. M. F. S를 通한 相互費較

        In order to obtain the relationship between Lactobacillus colony count tests and Snyder tests with D.M.F.S. score. 51 dental students in K.P.N.U. were tested and examined. Thereafter the data from these tests were analysed and evaluated comparatively. The obtained results were as follows. There was a significant correlation coefficiency between Lactobacillus counts and Snyder tests. (p < 0.05) The Snyder tests were somewhat superior to Lactobacillus counts. There was no statistical difference among volumes of saliva samples used in the Snyder test. (p > 0.05) The Snyder test was positive in 52.9 % and Lactobacillus count was positive in 39.2% of total tested persons.

        This study was performed to determine the blood and blood chemical values on captured 16 raccoon dogs (Nyctereutes procyonoides). Hematological examination revealed that RBC, Hb, PCV, MCV, MCH and MCHC values were 7.9±0.8x10^(6)/㎕, 14.0±2 g/dl, 44.1±5.5 %, 56.9±3.8 fl, 18.0±1.4 pg and 31.9±2.9 g/dl. respectively, and also revealed that WBC, neutrophil, lymphocyte. eosinophil and monocyte values were 13.6±2.4x10^(3)/㎕, 8.9±2.1x10^(3)/㎕, 2.7±0.8x10^(3)/㎕, 1.1±0.5x10^(3)/㎕ and 1.0±0.4x10^(3)/㎕, respectively. Blood chemical examination showed that total protein, albumin, globulin and A/G ratio values were 7.9±0.9 g/dl, 3.0±0.3 g/dl, 4.8±0.7 g/dl and 0.6±0.1, respectively, and also showed that ALT, AST, BUN. Creatinine and glucose values were 95.8±57.8 1U/ℓ, 64.4±30.1 1U/ℓ, 20.8±5.4 ㎎/dl, 0.7±0.1 ㎎/dl and 58.5±19.1 ㎎/dl, respectively.

        차량용 산소발생기의 성능 측정

        Auto exhausts and air pollution can become trapped in the cabin of vehicle, reducing the amount of oxygen available for breathing. Driver may feel sleepy, headaches, nausea, confusion, dizziness and lower levels of oxygen can damage the driver's general health. Consequently, oxygen generator purified oxygen into the car to help driver get the oxygen driver's body needs. In this study, in order to evaluate the oxygen generator performance, the samples that the various conditions(humidity(50%, 100%), flow and oxygen concentration) were examined. There were three types of oxygen generator; sample 1(2.5ℓ/min, 36%0₂), sample 2(4.5ℓ/min, 41%0₂) and sample 3(5ℓ/min, 39%0₂). As the humidity increased from 50% to 100%, the oxygen concentration of the sample 1(36%), 2(41%) and 3(39%) was reduced 31%0₂, 38%0₂ and 38%0₂, respectively. Also, the each sample measured that effect of human in car on oxygen concentration, if the oxygen concentration is one person in car, each sample of oxygen concentration was 20.8%0₂, 23.7%0₂ and 21.2%0₂. From the above results, it was shown that oxygen generator for car, if the oxygen concentration is increased, effect of humidity is reduced, and that in the sample of supplying a high-rate of oxygen, the oxygen concentration is increased. It was suggested that effect of humidity on oxygen generator for car can be reduced according to the supply of oxygen.
