      • FDS를 이용한 교번식 미분무방식의 소화 성능 분석

        Water mist fire suppression system utilizes the fire suppression features such as cooling of fire source, dilution of ambient oxygen, and shielding of radiation heat with the evaporation of microscopic water droplets. The momentum of water mist is relatively low and the infiltration of water mist to the fire source is not effective. In addition to lower penetration force, the evaporated water vapor is liable to decline to limited portion of fire source due to its light weight and sparse density. On the other hand, the cycling water mist system is expected to improve the penetration force of water mist as well as the dilution coverage capability with the stratified spray characteristics. At this paper we present the analyzed fire suppression capability of intermittent water spray pattern by use of FDS which is computational fire dynamics fire model. We expect this analysis shall be supportive to the development of the prototype of water mist nozzle.

        CJ-50001 (rG-CSF) 의 골수이식모델 마우스에 대한 호중구수 회복 촉진효과

        The peripheral neutrophil recovery test was conducted to determine the efficacy of CJ-50001, a drug developed in Cheil Jedang R&D center as a recombinant granulocyte-colony stimulating factor (rG-CSF). Grasin was used as control drug. CJ-50001 and Grasin were subcutaneously administered to γ-ray irradiated mice for 21 days at a dose of 10 ㎍/kg after bone marrow transplantation and the recovery of neutrophil number was examined on the days of 9, 13, 17, and 21 after the drug administration. It was observed that the peripheral neutrophil number of the vehicle control group was recovered to the normal level on the day of 13 after the transplantation whereas the group administered with CJ-50001 and Grasin respectively, showed the normal level of peripheral neutrophil number on 9th day after the bone marrow transplantation. The number of peripheral neutrophils reached the highest level on the 21st day of drug administration, and was recovered to the normal level on the 4th day after ceasing of the drug administration (on the 25th day of the transplantation). Thus, it was presumed that CJ-50001 showed efficacy similar to Grasin on the peripheral neutrophil recovery after bone marrow transplantation.

      • 터널 시공에 따른 지반 및 인접건물의 거동평가

        본 연구는 도심지터널 시공시 막장진행에 따라 다양하게 계측된 현장의 계측치 분석을 통하여 막장 진행에 따른 터널 주변지반의 거동 및 인접구조물의 3차원 거동을 상호 규명하였으며, 일반적으로 터널설계시 적용되는 Mohr-Coulomb 모델 및 막강관찰 자료를 바탕으로 한 Hoek-Brown 현장암반모델을 적용한 3차원 유한요소해석을 실시하여 각각의 결과를 비교 검토하여 이들 지반 및 구조물 거동을 규명하였다. 막장 진행에 따른 침하 양상은 greenfield 상태에서의 거동과는 차이를 보이고 있으며 구조물의 위치와 강성 그리고 하중에 큰 영향을 받는 것으로 나타났다. This research work presents 3-D behavior of adjacent structures due to tunnelling induced ground movements by means of field measuring data and nonlinear FEM tunnel analysis. The results of the analytical methods from Mohr-Coulomb model are compared with the site measurement data obtained during the twin tunnel construction. It was found that the location and stiffness of the structure influence greatly the shape and pattern of settlement trough. The settlement trough for Greenfield condition was different from the trough for existing adjacent structures. Therefore the load and stiffness of adjacent structures should be taken into account for the stability analysis of the structures.

        Validation of the Korean translation of obesity-related problems scale assessing the quality of life in obese Korean

        Purpose: The objective of this study was to translate the obesity-related problems (OP) scale for Koreans and to validate it for use in Korean populations. Methods: Translation and back-translation of the OP scale was performed and a pilot test was conducted. Following this, patients who had received treatment at the Obesity Center of Inha University Hospital were selected for participation in the field test. Cronbach’s alpha (α) was used for assessment of the internal consistency of the OP scale. Spearman’s correlation coefficients were used to assess the concurrent validity between the OP scale, the EuroQoL-5D (EQ-5D), and the Beck depression inventory (BDI) scale. One-way analysis of variance and t-test were used to assess the factors associated with the OP scale. Results: A total of 67 individuals participated in the field study. The standardized Cronbach’s α of the OP was 0.913. A significant negative correlation was observed between the OP scale and the EQ-5D and a positive correlation was observed between the OP scale and the BDI (the correlation coefficient with EQ-5D = -0.316, and the BDI = 0.305, P < 0.05). Conclusion: The results of this study prove that the Korean version of the OP has been translated and adapted correctly in order to meet the standard of its use.

      • 호르몬 불응성 전립선암 환자에서 mitoxantrone과 prednisone의 병합화학요법 후 통증완화 및 삶의 질 측정

        목적 : 호르몬 불응성 전립선암 환자의 생명을 연장시키는 치료법은 현재로는 없으며, 현 시점에서의 치료목표는 증상의 경감 및 소실에 따른 삶의 질 향상에 두고 있다. 호르몬 불응성 전립선암의 고식적인 치료에 일차적인 치료법으로 간주되는 mitoxantrone과 prednisone의 화학요법이 호르몬 불응성 전립선암 환자의 통증완화 및 삶의 질에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 알아보았다. 방법 : 1998년 7월부터 1999년 12월까지 증상이 있는 18명의 호르몬 불응성 전립선암 환자를 대상으로 하였으며, 일차적인 치료의 목표는 환자 본인이 기록하는 McGill-Melzack 6단계 통증척도에서 진통제의 증량 없이 2점이 감소(또는 첫 점수가 1점일 경우 통증의 완전소실)하는 것으로 하였다. 이러한 기준은 최소 3주 간격으로 시행한 자가 기록조사에서 연속적으로 2번 이상 유지될 때 유효한 것으로 간주하였다. 건강과 관련된 삶의 질 측정은 전신적 치료의 임상적 응용을 위한 실제적인 측정방법으로 개발되어 환자가 직접 작성하는 전립선암 특이성 삶의 질 측정기구(Prostate Cancer-Specific Quality-of-Life Instrument : PROSQOLI)의 비례연속형의 자가측정 척도(linear analogue self-assessment scale : LASA)를 이용하였으며, ECOG performance status를 사용하여 전신상태의 변화도 측정하였다. 결과 : 통증의 경감으로 나타나는 고식적인 치료의 반응은 66.7%(12/18)에서 나타났으며, 반응의 지속기간은 2개월에서 10개월까지로 평균 4.2±3.6개월이었다. PROSQOLI로 측정한 삶의 질은 통증에 대한 고식적인 치료반응을 보인 12명(66.7%) 모두가 삶의 질이 개선되었으며 특히 통증, 변비, 소변보기, 전반적인 복지상태에서의 유의한(p<0.05) 증가를 보였다. 치료 후 혈장 PSA 수치는 고식적인 반응의 유무에 관계없이 별 다른 변화를 보이지 않았으며, 골주사 또는 전산화 단층촬영으로 측정한 방사선학적 병변은 고식적인 반응을 보인 2명을 제외하고 치료 전과 비교하여 차이를 보이지 않았다. 병합 화학요법과 관련된 특별한 부작용은 관찰되지 않았다. 결론 : 통증을 동반한 호르몬 불응성 전립선암에서 mitoxantrone과 prednisone의 병합화학요법은 66.7%의 환자에서 통증의 감소 및 삶의 질이 향상되었다. 현재는 혈장 PSA 수치, 병소의 크기나 개수등이 치료의 지침이나 치료결과의 판정을 위한 객관적인 기준으로 사용되는 경향이 있지만, 앞으로는 환자를 중심으로 통증을 포함한 삶의 질 측정이 고식적 치료 후 치료결과 판정에 있어 객관적이고 적절한 방법이 될 것이다. Background : There is no evidence that therapeutic modalities prolong the survival of patients with hormone-refractory prostate cancer nowadays. The main goal of treatment is therefore improvement in quality-of-life including palliation of symptoms. We performed this study to investigate the benefit of mitoxantrone and prednisone chemotherapy in patients with symptomatic hormone-refractory prostate cancer using relevant end points of palliation regarding to pain and quality-of-life. Methods : From July 1998 to December 1999, we assessed the 18 patients with symptomatic hormone-refractory prostate cancer receiving mitoxantrone and low dose prednisone. The treatment end point was a palliative response defined as a 2-point decrease in pain assessed by a 6-point pain scale complemented by patients (or complete loss of pain if initially 1+) without an increase in analgesic medication and maintained for two consecutive evaluations at least 3 weeks apart. Health-related quality-of-life was evaluated with a series of linear analogue self-assessment(LASA) scale of the Prostate Cancer-Specific Quality-of-Life Instrument (PROSQOLI) and performance status was also measured. Results : Palliative responses were observed in 12(66.7%) of 18 patients. The duration of palliative responses were 4.2±3.6 months(range: 2 to 10 months). Treatment was well tolerated without specific side effects. There were no differences in prostate-specific antigen (PSA) level following treatment and no significant changes of radiologic findings evaluated by bone scan and/or CT were noted except 2 cases after chemotherapy. All the responding patients had an improvement in quality-of-life scales and performance status, however serum PSA levels were not changed. Conclusions : Chemotherapy with mitoxantrone and prednisone provides palliation and an improvement in quality-of-life for more than half (66.7%) of the patients with symptomatic hormone-refractory prostate cancer.

        다이아프램 두께 변화에 따른 하이브리드 로켓의 후퇴율 향상에 관한 연구

        In this work, a study was conducted to investigate the effect of diaphragm thickness on the regression rate of the hybrid rocket motor. To observe the flow pattern and the recirculation zone, visualizations of combustion chambers with different diaphragm thickness (5mm, 10mm) were performed. It was found that the case with 5 mm thickness had a larger recirculation zone and therefore, had a higher regression rate than the case with 10mm thickness due to the increased residence time and heat transfer toward the fuel surface. Finally, it was concluded that the thickness of diaphragm can be a critical parameter for the enhancement of the regression rate.

        하이브리드 연소에서 연소실 압력에 따른 고체 연료의 연소 특성을 실험적으로 연구하였다. 본 연구는 낮은 산화제 평균 질량 유속구간에서 고체 연료 후퇴율이 산화제 유속 뿐만 아니라 연소실 압력에 영향이 있는지 실험적으로 확인하였다. 연료로 Poly-Ethylene과 산화제로 GOX를 이용하였으며, 동일 산화제 유속에서 연소실 압력 변화는 6mm,9mm의 노즐 목 직경으로 사용하였다. 낮은 산화제 질량 유속구간에서 고체연료 후퇴율이 산화제 유속뿐만 아니라 압력에 의한 영향이 있고, 동일 산화제 유속에서 압력이 증가 할수록 후퇴율이 증가함을 확인 하였다. The combustion characteristic of solid fuel with chamber pressure were experimentally studied in hybrid combustion. This paper was experimental confirmed whether solid fuel affected not only oxidizer mass flux but also chamber pressure. Poly-Ethylene(PE) was used as fuel, GOX was used as oxidizer. Chamber pressure was controled by nozzle throat diameter 6mm and 9mm. In low oxidizer mass flux, solid fuel regression rate was affected not only oxidizer mass flux but also chamber pressure. As well, the regression rate increase as chamber pressure increase with same oxidizer mass flux
