      • Pilot plant와 Jar test를 이용한 응집제 LAS와 PAC의 수처리 효과 비교

        Juam raw water was used to investigated water treatment efficiency in terms of coagulants and experiment types as jar-test and lab-scale pilot plant. pH of treated water was about 0.1~0.2 high when pilot plant was used than when jar-test was used in all of coagulants as liquid aluminium sulfate(LAS) and poly aluminium chloride(PAC). In comparing pH of surface water between in actual precipitation process with in pilot plant precipitation process when LAS was used, variation range of pH was 0.16 in pilot plant process whereas 0.04 in actual process. In comparing color, turbidity, zeta-potential, aluminium of precipitated surface water, it showed same results in all of coagulants as PAC and LAS and all of processes. In comparing alkalinity of the water, PAC showed alkalinity was 2∼3ppm higher than when LAS was used because of coagulants' characteristics as Al2O3 contents. Langarier indices as Corrosive index were -2.95 in LAS and -2.66 in PAG, which means PAC has less corrosive than LAS. In, comparing the removal of algae using LAS and PAC in jar-test and pilot plant, the removal rates were 80% in jar-test and 75% in pilot plant. The rate was improved to 90% after when incline baffles were used. Therefore, PAC is appropriate in considering prevention of corrosion, on the other side, LAS is appropriate in considering economy.

      • 감수곡선을 이용한 섬진강댐 유역 유출 예측

        The rainfall-runoff in a catchment is predicted by tank model using recession curves. The water tank has a horizontal cross-section area, which is a function of the water depth and which may be determined from the recession curves of flood hydrographs. The rate of runoff and the time lag between rainfall and runoff were determined from rainfall and hydrograph. The model is applied to Sumjindam catchment for predicting flood response to rainfall events. The results found from the model are in good agreement with the observed data. The parameters of the model have physical meanings of the catchment.

      • When Expatriates Feel Betrayed: Perceived Psychological Contract Violation and Its Consequences and Potential Moderators

        Purpose - Given the fact that a majority of multinational enterprises (MNEs) are still heavily reliant on expatriates for critical functions abroad, expatriate management is crucial to MNEs in today’s global business environment. In this context, increasing attention has been devoted to the psychological contract as a useful explanatory tool for understanding expatriate management. In spite of a growing recognition of its importance in expatriate management, the psychological contract has not yet been sufficiently studied in the multi-layered context of expatriation. Therefore, this paper aims to explore expatriate psychological contracts in the multicontextual nature of expatriation. Design/Methodology/Approach - Drawing upon social exchange theory and equity theory, this paper develops a conceptual framework for the relationship between perceived psychological contract violations and work-related outcomes and proposes the contextual moderators of this relationship at the individual, organizational, and national levels, respectively. Findings - Four research propositions are developed around the proposed conceptual model, such that expatriates that perceive a violation of the psychological contract have significantly lower job satisfaction and commitment to the MNE. Moreover, the moderating effects of individual (e.g., cultural intelligence), organizational (e.g., the extent of cross-cultural training), and national (e.g., cultural distance) factors on the relationship between perceived psychological contract violations and expatriate attitudinal outcomes are suggested. Research Implications - This paper can vastly increase the current understanding of psychological contracts by broadening its application beyond the domestic employee-employer relationship. It also provides relevant insight into expatriate management.

      • Extremely small multimode-interference coupled triangular resonator with sharp angle of incidence

        <P>Novel triangular ring resonators combining extremely small multimode-interference (MMI) coupler, low loss total internal reflection (TIR) mirrors, and semiconductor optical amplifiers are reported for the first time. The MMI length of 90 microm is among the shortest reported. The incidence angle of the TIR mirror inside the resonator is 22 degrees. A free-spectral range of approximately 2 nm is observed near 1550 nm along with an on-off ratio of 17 dB. The triangular resonators with a sharp angle are very attractive components due to their promise of compact size and high levels of integration. Therefore, large numbers of resonators can be integrated on a chip to increase functionality in future optical wavelength division multiplexing system.</P>

        감비수 향 흡입이 절식을 유도한 쥐의 시상하부에서 섭식관련 신경전달물질의 발현과 인지력에 미치는 영향

        본 연구는 절식을 유도한 ICR계 생쥐에서 감비수 향 흡입이 시상하부에서 leptin과 neuropeptide Y (NPY)의 발현에 미치는 영향과 단기 기억력에 미치는 효과를 알아보고자 하였다. ICR 계열 수컷 쥐 24마리를 무작위 추출법에 의해 대조군, 절식군, 절식과 감비수 향 흡입군(각 군 n=8)의 3군으로 분류하였다. 실험결과, 절식은 시상하부에서 leptin의 발현을 감소시켰고 NPY의 발현은 증가시켰다. 또한, 절식에 의하여 단기 기억력과 해마에서의 신경성장인자인 BDNF의 발현이 감소되었다. 반면에, 절식 중 감비수 향을 흡입 시 시상하부에서 leptin의 발현은 증가되었고 NPY의 발현은 감소되었다. 그리고 감비수 향의 흡입에 의하여 단기 기억력이 향상 되었고 해마에서의 신경성장인자인 BDNF의 발현이 증가되었다. 본 실험 결과, 감비수 향 흡입은 절식 시 증가된 음식섭취에 대한 욕구를 억제할 수 있으며 절식에 의하여 감소된 단기 기억력을 향상시키는 효과가 있음을 알 수 있었다. In the present study, we investigated the effects of Gambisu inhalation on the expressions of neurotransmitters implicated in the food intake in the hypothalamus and cognition using starved mice. For this, the effects of Gambisu inhalation on the expressions of leptin and neuropeptide Y (NPY) in the paraventricular nucleus (PVN) of hypothalamus of starved mice were evaluated by immunohistochemistry. Short-term memory of the mice was also assessed using a passive avoidance task and brain-derived neurothrophic factor (BDNF) expression in the hippocampus was determined by Western blot analysis. ICR mice were divided into three groups: control group, starvation group, and starvation with Gambisu inhalation group. The mice in the food-deprivation group were restricted food for 48 h. The mice in the Gambisu inhalation group were exposed to inhale Gambisu for 60 min twice a day for 2 consecutive days. The present results showed that food-deprivation decreased leptin expression and increased NPY expression in the PVN of the hypothalamus. Food-deprivation decreased short-term memory ability and also suppressed BDNF expression in the hippocampus. However, Gambisu inhalation increased leptin expression and decreased NPY expression in the PVN of hypothalamus under the starvation conditions. Gambisu inhalation alleviated starvation-induced short-term memory impairment and enhanced BDNF expression in the hippocampus under the starvation conditions. The present study revealed that Gambisu inhalation might suppress desire for food intake and exert beneficial effect on cognition by enhancing BDNF expression in the hippocampus under the starvation conditions.         치매는 노화로 인해 인류가 직면한 과제로, 가장 심각한 정신 건강 문제 중 하나입니다. 2020년 기준으로, 치매 인구는 65세 이상 노인 인구의 15.8%를 占합니다. 질병관리본부와 보건복지부는 '3가지 권장(운동, 식사, 독서), 3가지 금기(금연, 뇌손상, 약물남용), 3가지 실천(건강검진, 소통, 조기치매 발견)' 등 치매예방의 중요성을 강조합니다. 인공지능 시대에 치매는 개인의 문제가 아니라 가족적 노력을 준비하며 함께 걱정하고 해결해야 할 사회적 질병입니다. 미세 뇌기능 장애 단계에서 치매 예방이 필요하며, 미세 뇌기능 장애를 적극적으로 발견할 수 있는 융합 관리 방법, 생활 습관, 운동 방법 등 자연 치유 방법이 대안으로 살펴볼 수 있습니다. 이를 위해 기억력 상실로 치매 예방을 위한 생활 방식과 자연 치유를 사용하는 전인적인 모델이 필요다고 믿습니다. Dementia is a challenge faced by mankind due to aging and is one of the most serious mental health problems. As of 2020, the dementia population accounted for 15.8% of the 65-year-old elderly population. The Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Ministry of Health and Welfare also value the importance of preventing dementia, such as three recommendations, exercise, eating, reading, three taboo items, abstinence from smoking, brain damage, and three implementations, health checkups, communication, and early detection of dementia. In the era of artificial intelligence, dementia is not an individual problem, but a disease that society must worry about and solve together in preparation for family efforts. There is a need to prevent dementia in the stage of mild cognitive impairment. Therefore, natural healing methods such as convergence management methods, lifestyle habits, and exercise methods that actively discovered mild cognitive impairment can be seen as an alternative. To this end, it is believed that a whole-person model using lifestyle and natural healing is needed to prevent dementia from losing memory.

      • Development of BPH Resistant Rice Variety for Environmental Friendly Cultivation

        BPH(Brown planthopper, Nilaparvata lugens Stål) is a major insect of rice and give a lot of damages around Korea, Japan and East-West Asia. BPH often causes heavy losses of up to 60% of rice crop yields in susceptible cultivars. Especially, increase of the environmental friendly cultivation in South Korea has caused the outbreak of BPH rapidly. But few resistant varieties in Korea have known until now. Utilization of R genes in breeding programs has been the most effective and economical strategy for controlling insect resistance. It is reported that Bph1 gene is located on a long side of chromosome 12 and linked to bph2 among reported 18 R genes. BPH resistant "Iksan529" was derived from a cross between HR22538-GHB-36-4(bph2) and Iksan471 at Department of Rice and Winter Cereal Crop, NICS, RDA. Culm length of Iksan529 is 74cm and it shows moderate resistance to blast, and wide spectrum resistance to bacterial blight pathogen(K1, K2, K3) and stripe virus. Especially, Iksan529 was identified bph2 gene using KPM2(co-dominant CAPS marker) and KPM4(resistant-associated marker). When Iksan529 seedling were infested at 2nd and 3rd instar stages of BPH nymphs(Bio-type 1), it showed resistance at one month after infest. Iksan529 will be tested local adaptability for 3 years and deveoped for environmental friendly cultivation.

        What Factors Make Cultural Intelligence More Important?

        문화지능은 2003년 Earley와 Ang에 의해 소개된 이후 국제경영학계의 많은 주목을 받았다. 하지만 대부분의 이전 연구는 문화지능이 직무성과에 미치는 주효과만을 분석하였기 때문에 문화지능과 직무성과의 관계를 매개 또는 조절하는 잠재변수에 대한 연구는 매우 미비한 것이 사실이다. 본 연구는 문화지능과 직무성과의 관계를 조절하는 잠재적 조절변수로써 현지화에 대한 압력(local responsiveness pressure) 그리고 본국과 현지국 간의 제도적 거리요인(institutional distances between home and host countries)에 대하여 분석하였다. 이를 바탕으로 본 연구가 가지는 이론 및 실무적 시사점과 향후 연구를 위한 구체적 제언을 제시하였다. Since it was first introduced by Earley and Ang in 2003, the concept of cultural intelligence has provoked wide-ranging discussion and led to a number of noteworthy studies. The majority of empirical studies have examined the main effect of cultural intelligence on job performance, while little attention has been paid to possible interaction effects of either mediating or moderating factors on cultural intelligence-performance relationships. Based on the four-fold typology of multinational corporations and the logic of institutional distance, this study explicitly analyzes the effect of both the strength of local responsiveness pressure within the multinational corporations and institutional distances between home and host countries in moderating the relationship between cultural intelligence and performance outcomes. Theoretical contributions and practical implications are discussed.
