1.Utilizing ten boy elementary students among 47(forty-seven)members of forth grade class, our systematic and group learning study discovered by carrying our soccer lesson that the average of pedometer score(2226.8±608.6) of group learning was higher than that(1912.7±504.8)of systematic learning. 2.We found the pedometer score had nothing to do with the mean heart rate in our systematic and group learning. 3.The mean heart rate of group learning was meaningfully higher(P<0.05) than that of systematic learning. 4.The exercise duration of group learning was longer than that of systematic learning in the 80%HRmax above physiological exercise intensity to improve the cardiorespiratory.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the concept, teaching and learning method in open education and to help to expand the use of open education in Home Economics education. To achieve this purpose, this study was reviewed meaning, principle and characteristics of open education based on the theoretical background and developed an instructional plan of the open education for Home Economics education. This plan was applied to second grade students of Ohjeong middle school in July 1997, using Jigsaw It's cooperational teaching and learning method. The results were as follows: 1) Students chose their learning tasks themselves and accomplished the student-centered, positive, spontaneous learning of small group cooperational learning. 2) Students who were involved in the same group made their plans together in order to solve their tasks. Within these groups each student then took smaller roles to accomplish the goal of the group. 3) All students were able to gain some self-confidence and make a statement about their tasks. The knowledge gained from the group work improved the ability of their presentation. 4) The experiment of heating food in various conditions allowed the students to recognize natuarally the changes that occurred in the food. They could realize the scientific cooking principle through comparison with foods which were cooked in several conditions. 5) Observing and comparing food that was cooked by the students themselves with food that was cooked by others, was very effective.

Background: Both ondansetron and granisetron exert their antiemetic effects via a blockade of the 5-hydroxytryptamine 3 receptor (5-HT3R). Because the 5-HT3R is a member of a superfamily of ligand-gated ion channels and has structural similarities to the nicotinic acetylcholine receptor (nAChR), a 5-HT3R antagonist may also inhibit the nAChR. This study examined the effects of 5-HT3R antagonists, ondansetron and granisetron, on rocuronium-induced neuromuscular blockade in vitro. Methods: Rat phrenic nerve-hemidiaphragm preparations were isolated and allocated randomly into seven groups (control, 1, 10, 100μg/ml of ondansetron, 0.1, 1, 10μg/ml of granisetron). Two studies were carried out using single twitch responses. In the cumulative dose-response study, rocuronium 1μg/ml and each doses of ondansetron or granisetron were administered simultaneously, and incremental 0.5μg/ml doses of rocuronium were added to obtain more than 95% neuromuscular twitch inhibition. ED5, ED50, ED90, and ED95 of rocuronium in each group were calculated using a logistic model. In the partial curarization study, the twitch heights were measured after administering ondansetron or granisetron (10 minutes after administering 3μg/ml rocuronium) and were measured 10 minutes later. The 2 twitch heights were then compared. Results: In the cumulative dose-response study, ondansetron 100μg/ml and granisetron 10μg/ml significantly reduced the ED50 of rocuronium (P < 0.05). There were no intergroup differences in the partial curarization study. Conclusions: High concentration of ondansetron and granisetron enhanced the neuromuscular blockade of rocuronium. Granisetron enhanced the neuromuscular blockade of rocuronium more potently than ondansetron. (Korean J Anesthesiol 2006; 51: 94~100)

The clinical triad of Behcet's Disease is relapsing iritis and ulcers of the mouth and genitalia. The diagnosis of Behcet's Disease is based only on clinical grounds, as there are no pathognomic or histologic features. A reported case of Behcet's Disease with neurologic manifestations that have undergone computerized tomography of the brain have demonstraited lesion of decreased density with negative contrast enhancement in basal ganglia which is similar with the other reported cases.

Background and aims: Increased glycolysis in the presence of oxygen (Warburg effect) is commonly observed in rapidgrowing human cancer cells. Glucose transport across the plasma membrane, the first rate-limiting step for glucose metabolism, is mediated by glucose transporter (GLUT) proteins. However, the expression of class 1 GLUT family in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), typical glycolytic tumor, is not fully elucidated yet. In this study, alteration to expression of GLUT and uptake value of [18F]fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography (FDG?PET) were evaluated in patients with HCC. Methods: Nineteen HCC tissues and matched non-tumorous liver tissues were obtained from surgical specimens of chronic hepatitis B patients. Levels of expressions of GLUT-1, GLUT-2 and GLUT-4 were quantified by qPCR and normalized to GAPDH. HBV pregenomic RNA of matched tissue samples were measured by real-time RT-PCR. Results: Expressions of GLUT-1 and GLUT-4 were up-regulated in 47% and 32%, respectively in HCC tissues compared to surrounding non-neoplastic tissue, whereas, GLUT-2, livertype glucose transporter, was suppressed in 47% of HCC. The concordance of enhancement or suppression between GLUT-1 and GLUT-4 was 16%. At least one glucose transporter was over-expressed in 14 patients (74%). There was no significant correlation between level of GLUT expression and FDG uptake value in FDG-PET imaging. Conclusions: About two-thirds of HBV-related HCC over-express class I GLUT. The GLUT over-expression may have an implication for specific regulation of metabolic phenotype in HCC.

TPN(total parenteral nutrition) not only supplies nutrition but also works as a therapeutic drug since improving patient's nutritional status causes remedy of disease. The objective of this study was to evaluate use of TPN for appropriateness in cancer patients. A retrospective study was conducted to evaluate the appropriateness of TPN in 111 hospitalized cancer patients in Samsung Medical Center from July 1, 2000 to December 31, 2001. The standard criteria published by ASHP(American Society of Health-System Pharmacists) and ASPEN(American Society of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition) were modified and applied. The indications were appropriate in 82.9% of 111 cancer patients and in 13 patients(11.7%) TPN lasted for ≤5 days. All the laboratory monitoring before starting TPN was done appropriately in over 90% of patients except for Ca^(2+), PO₄^(3-), Mg^(2+), glucose tolerance, lipid tolerance, hemorrhagic incidence, total protein and prealbumin. The monitoring during TPN administration was done approrpiately in over 90% of patients except for electrolyte balance, renal function, glucose tolerance, lipid tolerance, hemorrhagic incidence and prealbumin. For the assessment of TPN formula, non-protein calorie was appropriate in 83.8%, protein in 98.2%, and lipid in 78.4% of the patients. For administration method, glucose tapering was done appropriately only in 28.8%. For the nutritional prognosis assessment, increase in BUN was statistically significant. Patients with elevated liver enzymes over 2 times the upper limit of normal values were less than 18%. Hyperglycemia occurred in 15%. The abnormalities in K^(+) and Mg^(2+) were not found, but Na^(+) and PO₄^(3-) imbalances were found in less than 6%. In conclusion, the indicators for TPN use in cancer patients were measured appropriately in majority of monitoring indicators. This probably was due to an active role of clinical pharmacists in assessing and monitoring TPN therapy.

Background and aims: Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor (PPAR) is a nuclear hormone receptor protein which leads fatty acid oxidation by binding with lipid-derived endogenous ligands. But it remains unclear whether replication of Hepatitis B virus (HBV) is influenced by activities of nuclear transcription factors in hepatocytes. In this study, the effects of PPARgamma agonist and increased activities of Hepatocyte nuclear receptor (HNF) 4alpha or 1alpha on the replication of hepatitis B virus were evaluated in a cell culture model. Methods: HepAD38 cells that permit conditional replication of HBV under the tetracycline-responsive promoter were incubated with various concentrations of rosiglitazone and pioglitazone. HBV pregenomic RNA was measured by real-time RTPCR. HNF 4alpha and 1alpha, hepatocyte-enriched nuclear receptors which modulate transcription of HBV, were also quantified by qPCR. Activities of HBV promoters were measured by luciferase reporter assay. Results: Rosiglitazone enhanced replication of hepatitis B virus by showing a significant increase of HBV pgRNA by 22.0- fold. Pioglitazone also showed increased HBV replication by 5.4-fold. HNF 4alpha or HNF1alpha were over-expressed by rosiglitazone and pioglitazone. Luciferase assay showed that core and X promoter activities were enhanced (11% and 12%, respectively), by rosiglitazone. Conclusions: This study showed that PPARgamma agonist increased hepatitis B viral replication. The PPARgamma agonistinduced overexpression of nuclear receptors might activate HBV promoters, leading to increase transcription of HBV.
