        본 사례는 국내 APT 건설 현장에서 수행된 식스시그마 프로젝트에 대한 것으로 페콘크리트 발생 저감 및 잔량발생에 영향을 미치는 주요 인자들을 파악하고 개선안을 도출하는 과정을 보였다. 프로젝트는 식스시그마의 방법론을 따라 정의, 측정, 분석, 개선, 관리의 절차에 따라 주요 변수를 규명하고 개선안을 찾아내는 식으로 진행되었다. 분석결과 페콘크리트 발생을 줄이기 위해서는 첫째, 거푸집 시공 및 타설 프로세스를 개선하고 둘째, 압송관 및 펌프카 내 잔여 레미콘을 최소한으로 감소시키며 셋째, 최종적으로 남은 레미콘을 재활용할 수 있도록 하는 세가지로 요약되었다.

        Glioblasty/ma Multiforme(GBM) is the one of the most common malignant tumors in central nervous system(CNS). The incidence of the tumor is about 12% of all CNS tumors and about 50% of all intracranial tumors. Though the development of the microsurgical technique, radiosurgical technique, and chemotherapy works effectively, complete cure of the GBM has not been achieved. It has been known that the prognosis of GBM depends on the extent of surgical tumor removal, remained tumor volume, radiation dose, and chemotherapy. Not only patient's age but also tumor characteristics such as MRI enhancement, angiogenesis and necrosis are also very important prognostic factors. Authors experienced very aggressive GBM in aged woman, who received gross total tumor removal, but refused other therapeutic motalities postoperatively. Very rapid recurrence of GBM and global cerebral edema in aged woman should be considered fatal. This case demonstrates the effectiveness of aggressive removal and the limited usefulness of neurosurgical tools in GBM recurrence. Authors would suggest that the early diagnostic effort and the verified neurosurgical therapy for malignant tumor are still strongly requested to make better prognosis.

        유자과즙을 이용한 식초제조

        To enhance the utility value of citron, vinegars were made of citron juice, their properities were investigated, the results are as following. Optimum bacteria was Acetobacter sp. PA 97 for the citron vinegar fermentation, optimum temperature, initial acidity and alcohol concentration were 30℃, 1.5% and 8%, respectively. The lower citron juice was added, the more citric acid was produced, the acidity of sample added sub-nutrition source was higher than that of sample no added. In samples added citron juice of 10, 20 and 30%, and sub-nutrition source, total acidity were 5.42, 5.36 and 5.04%, pure acetic acid yields were 52.69, 45.25 and 35.10%, respectively. Remained alcohol of sample no added sub-nutrition source was more than that of added. In the sensory test, the most suitable concentration of citron juice for vinegar fermentation was 30%.

      • 觀光을 通한 地域活性化에 關한 硏究 : 日本의 內發的 地域活性化의 事例를 中心으로

        地域의 觀光開發 事業이 活性化되고 관광개발이 地域發展에 미치는 效果를 極大化 하기 위해서는 관광개발에 대한 發想의 轉換이 절실히 요구된다. 換言하여 금후 觀光의 觀光政策은 地方化時代의 定着과 觀光産業의 環境變化 등을 고려할 때 中央政府 차원에 의한 위로부터의 관광개발이 아니라 地域에 基盤을 두고 地域社會와의 連繫 속에서 이루어지는 地域觀光, 즉 地域性을 확보하는 방향으로 槪念轉換이 이루어져야한다. 이를 위해 地域文化 및 主體性의 再發見, 地域特性의 觀光資源化를 적극적으로 추진해야하며 觀光關聯事業에 內發的인 住民의 參與를 誘導하기 위한 方案을 摸索해야 한다. 內發的인 地域活性化는 外部에 대해 地域이미지의 提高와 地域의 自玲心과 愛鄕心을 鼓吹시키고, 나아가 觀光客의 지역에 대한 訪問動機를 자극시켜 방문을 유도하고, 窮極的으로는 地域住民의 삶의 質 向上에 기여한다. 그러나 地方自治制의 역사가 일천하고 觀光의 地域活性化에 대한 效果가 經濟的 效用에 지나치게 중점을 둔 나머지, 관광을 통한 지역의 意識啓發과 文化生活空間을 제공하며 地域住民의 福利增進이라는 面에서는 소홀하게 취급되어왔던 게 사실이다. 지역활성화를 위한 전통적인 전략을 기본적으로 外來型 開發, 즉 外部의 支援에 의한 대규모 개발 사업을 통한 地域開發의 추구였다. 이와 같은 전략 하에서는 國家 政府의 역할이 가장 중시된다. 그러나 최근 世界化, 情報化로 國境, 距離의 개념이 약화되고 경제성장요소의 移動이 보다 다이나믹해 감에 따라 地方化를 더욱 촉진 시키게되고 이러한 환경 하에서 中央政府 主導方式의 地域開發은 그 실효성을 더욱 저하시킬 수밖에 없는 것으로 평가된다. 따라서 전통적 戰略의 代案으로 주목받게 된 이론이 곧 內發的開發이다. 內發的開發은 地域內部의 모든 자원 - 자연적, 인적, 기술적, 문화적, 조직 및 제도적 자 원-을 活用, 이들간의 相互作用을 活性化시키고 統合함으로써 地域力量(regional capacity) 을 極大化시키는 戰略이다. 여기에서 지역의 인적, 조직 및 제도적 자원은 지역개발의 主 體가 되는 資源이고 자연적, 기술적, 문화적 자원은 지역개발의 客體的 資源이 된다.

      • 자발성 뇌교출혈 환자의 예후에 관한 임상 분석

        Patients with spontaneous pontine hemorrhage very often develop setvere disturbances of consciousness,pupilary abnormalities, respiratory and motor. They have high mortality rate. Therefore, I analyzed the correlation between the Glasgow outcome scale(GOS)and clincial manifestations or computed tomographic(CT)findings in 48 patients with spontaneous pontine hemorrhage to clarify factors predicting the prognosis. I examined 48 Patients with spontaneous pontine hemorrhage; 33 males and 15 females, age 54.6±8.99(mean±S.D.;range 39 to 68)brought to our hospital between January 1995 and December 1999, retrospectively. Correlations between the clinical manifestations, CT findings and the GOS was assessed with multivariate regression analysis. The results were as follow: 1) Patients with the pontine hemorrhage were of 8.8% in those with intracerebral hemorrhage. The ratio of male and female was 33 to 15. The incidence of age is eqial to 40,50 and 60. Total mortality was 41.6%. 2) The poor prognostic factor were that; Glasgow coma scale(GCS)3∼8, irregular respiration. pupilary abnormality, quadriplegia, Brain CT typeⅠ(massive), hydrocephalus, extrapontine extension, Intraventricular hemorrhage(IVH). These clinical analysis should be useful in determining the level of care and future resuscitative efforts.

      • Genotyping of apple (Malus × domestica Borkh.) using MdACS1 and MdACO1 functional markers

        Apple is a typical climacteric fruit, whose loss of firmness during storage is associated with internal levels of ethylene. MdACS1 (1-aminocyclopropane-1-carboxylate synthase) and MdACO1 (1-aminocyclopropane-1-carboxylate oxidase) genes are characterized well as functional markers for the ethylene production of ripening apple fruit. Presence of two alleles for each gene are commonly reported in cultivated apples. MdACS1-1/1, 1-1/2 and 1-2/2 generally induce high, medium, and low ethylene production, respectively. Homozygosity of MdACO1-1 resulted in low levels of ethylene production than MdACO1-1/2 and 1-2/2. It was reported that cultivars homozygous for MdACS1-2 and MdACO1-1 had superior shelf-life with lowest ethylene production. In this study, genotypes of 42 apple cultivars including Korean-developed ones at MdACS1 and MdACO1 loci were determined. Polymorphisms were detected by PCR and were separated by electrophoresis in a 2.0% agarose gel. Of PCR products of MdACS1, the fragrament of 490 bp was corresponded to the MdACS1-1 allele and 640 bp corresponded to the MdACS1-2 allele. ACO1-1 and ACO1-2 alleles had the fragment size of 525 and 587 bp, respectively. The 42 cultivars could be grouped into three classes to each gene, MdACS1-1/1, MdACS1-1/2 and MdACS1-2/2; MdACO1-1/1, MdACO1-1/2 and MdACO1-2/2.

        Inhaled Fluorescent Magnetic Nanoparticles Induced Extramedullary Hematopoiesis in the Spleen of Mice

        <P><B>Objectives:</B> Nanomaterials are used in a wide variety of industrial materials such as semiconductors, magnetic resonance imaging, gene delivery carriers for gene therapy and many others; thus, human seems to be frequently exposed to them. Such diverse applications of nanoparticles elicit the need to identify the positive aspects of nanomaterials while avoiding the potential toxic effects. In this study, inhalation toxicity of manufactured nanomaterials using fluorescent magnetic nanoparticles (FMNPs) was assessed to address the issue of potential nanoparticle toxicity. <B>Methods:</B> Biological samples from a previous mouse FMNP exposure experiment were analyzed for potential FMNP toxicity. Mice inhaled FMNPs for 4 wk through a nose-only exposure chamber developed by our group for 4 wk and the potential toxicity of FMNPs was analyzed. <B>Results: </B> The nanoparticle distribution by scanning mobility particle sizer (SMPS) analysis showed that the mean values of number concentration (mass concentrations) in the nose-only exposure chamber were maintained at 4.89×10<SUP>5</SUP>/cm<SUP>3</SUP> (approximately 159.4 <I>μ</I>g/m<SUP>3</SUP>) for the low concentration and 9.34×10<SUP>5</SUP>/cm<SUP>3</SUP> (approximately 319.5 <I>μ</I>g/m<SUP>3</SUP>) for the high concentration, respectively. Inhalation of FMNPs caused a decrease of body weight and significant changes of white blood cells (WBCs) levels in whole blood. The FMNPs induced extramedullary hematopoiesis in the spleen without having a pulmonary effect. <B>Conclusions:</B> Our results support the proposition that extensive toxicity evaluation is needed for practical applications of anthropogenic nanomaterials and suggest that careful regulation of nanoparticle applications may be necessary to maintain a high quality of life as well as for facilitating the development of nanotechnology.</P>
