If the treatment of acetabular fractures are not satisfactory, there will be serious complication such as traumatic arthritis of avascrlar necrosis of the frmoral head. There is much continuing discussion as to where conservative or sugical treatment should be used. The authors experienced 33 cases of acetabular fractures, that were treated aut the Department of Orthopaedic surgery, Maryknoll Hospital from May 2002 to 1999. The results of 32 cases who were followed ovwe a 1 year period are as follow: 1. According to Letournel's classification the most common type of elementray fracture was posterior wall(22.3%)and a T-shaped fracture was 11.4% and bitg column fractures were 10.9%. 2. Complication were traumatic arthritis(15 cases), superficial infection(6 cases), ectopic ossification(6 cases), osteomyelitis(2 case), AVN of the femoral head(2 case), and iartrigenic femoral shaft fractusre(nl case). 3. According to matta's assessment, satisfactory results of conservative treament were 36% clinically and 36% radiologically, and by surgical treatment , 70% clincally and 69% radiologically. 4. Surgical treatment in acetabular fractures, such as an anatomical reduction and rigid fixation followed by early joint motion were improved the result and decresed the rate of traumatic arthritis.
항암제와 Lactobacillus casei HY2782의 병용투여에 의한 항암효과의 증강

S-180 복수암을 유발시킨 생쥐에 대한 BCG, OK-432와 LC2782의 항암효과 비교실험 결과 LC2782를 투여한 생쥐의 평균 생존율은 192%(p<0.001)였으며, OK-432 와 BCG를 투여한 생쥐의 평균 생존율은 각각 141%(p<0.01), 112%였다. 3LL 고형암을 유발시킨 생쥐에 대한 BCG , OK-432와 LC2782의 항암효과 비교실험 결과, LC2782를 투여한 생쥐의 암 억제율은 62%(p<0.05)였으며, OK-432 와 BCG를 투여한 실험군의 암억제율은 90%(p<0.05)와 76.2%(p<0.05)로서 OK-432가 가장 높은 암억제 효과를 나타냈다. 또한 S-180 복수암을 유발시킨 5-Fu와 CP를 단독 투여한 경우의 평균 생존율은 각각 115%와 99%였으나, 5-Fu와 CP를 LC2782 와 병용 투여한 경우의 평균 생존율은 각각 226%(p<0.001)1와 244%(p<0.00)1를 나타내어 단독 투여시보다 2배 이상 생존율이 증가하였다. 3LL 고형암을 유발시킨 생쥐에 5-Fu 와 CP를 LC2782와 병용 투여한 경우의 암억제율은 99.3%(p<0.05)와 73%(p<0.025)였다. Augmentation of antitumor activity of antitumor drugs in combination with Lactobacillus casei Hy2782 (LC2782) was studied against Sarcoma-180 (S-180) and Lewis lung carcinoma (3LL). Antitumor drugs used in this study were 5-fluorouracil (5-Fu) and cyclophosphamide (CP). The prolongation effect of LC2782 on the life span of mouse intraperitoneally implanted with S-180 was stronger than that of OK-432 and BCG, while the inhibitory effect of OK-432 and BCG on the growth of 3LL solid tumor was a little stronger than that of LC2782. Average survival rates of mice administrated LC2782, OK-432 and BCG were 192%, 141%, and 112%, respectively, when that of the control was 100%. Intralesional administration of 5-Fu, CP, 5-Fu+LC2782 and CP+LC2782 resulted in 93%, 69%, 99% and 73% inhibition rates against 3LL solid tumor proliferation. The combination therapy of 5-Fu or Cp with LC2782 significantly prolonged the life span of S-180-inoculated ICR mice. Average survival rates of mice administrated 5-Fu and CP alone were 115% and 99%. Furthermore, survival rates of mice administrated 5-Fu and CP in combination with LC2782 were 226% and 244%, respectively.

The social responsibility of Corporate requires that organizations consider seriously the impact of their actions on society. By the ecological environment trends, managers need to be aware of the threats and opportunities associated with important trends in the natural environment: shortage of raw materials, increased cost of energy, increased levels of pollution, changing role of government in environment protection and the heightening of consumers' sense of environment. According to the result of this survey on EMS(i.e., Environmental Management System) the level of small business in Cheju was low. In order to increase the competitive power of Cheju small business the following things are needed: environment education program for managers and employees, supporting system for introducing ISO 14000, acquirements of Environmental Labelling and strengthening of technology and administrative & financial support.

전북 부안 유천리 청자요지에서 수습된 청자편 11점의 태토 및 유약에 대하여 화학조성을 분석하고, 기 발표되어진 문헌의 청자데이터들을 종합하여, 이와 비교함으로써 본 시료의 도자특성과 및 산지에 대한 정보를 유추하였다. 태토의 주요산화물 분석에는 XRF를 이용하였으며, 유약의 주요산화물분석에는 EPMA를 이용하였다. 태토 중 17개 미량성분의 분석에는 ICP-MS를 이용하였고, 자료의 비교분석에는 Seger식에 의한 방법과 주성분분석법에 의한 통계처리방법을 병행하였다. 태토의 주요산화물에 대한 비교분석결과 유천리 청자는 Seger 식과 주성분분석에서 RO_(2)와 RO+R_(2)O가 6~8 및 0.3~0.38 mole로, 또 높은 SiO_(2)함량과 낮은 Na_(2)O, CaO의 함량으로 전북지역의 데이터 범위에 분포함을 볼 수 있었다. 유약의 주요산화물에 대한 비교분석결과에서는 Seger식과 주성분분석에서 모두 명확한 지역구분이 나타나지 않았으며, 따라서 유천리 청자 역시 명확한 지역적 특성을 구분하기 어려웠다. 태토중 미량성분의 주성분분석에 의한 통계처리결과 광주 충효동 도편들을 제외하고는 뚜렷한 지역간의 구분을 관찰하기 어려웠다. The characterization of chemical properties and analogy of manufactured origin for the eleven celadon sherds collected in Yuchunri, Buan were performed by analyzing their body and glaze compositions and compared with previous data reported. The chemical compositions of the body and glaze were determined by XRF and EPMA, respectively. The trace elements of the body were also determined by ICP-MS. The Seger analysis and PCA were used to compare the major compositions of body and glaze of the potteries we found with previous data. The Celadon sherds from Yuchunri are distributed in a range of Chonnam potteries considering RO_(2) and RO+R_(2)O are 6~ 8 and 0.3 ~O.38mole, respectively and also high in SiO_(2) and low in Na_(2)O and CaO concentrations in the comparison between the potteries for the major compositions of the body. Differences of the chemical characteristics of those potteries between the provinces were not clear in comparison of the glaze compositions and trace element of the body.

<P><B>Abstract</B></P><P>We analyzed the effects of ionomer content on the proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) performance of membrane electrode assemblies (MEAs) fabricated by a catalyst-coated membrane (CCM) spraying method in partially humidified atmospheric air and hydrogen. When high loading Pt/C catalysts (45.5 wt.%) were used, we observed that catalytic activity was not directly proportional to electrochemical active surface area (EAS). This suggests that ionic conductivity through ionomers in catalyst layers is also an important factor affecting MEA performance. In addition, the effects of mass transport were experimentally evaluated by manipulating the air stoichiometry ratio at the cathodes. MEA performance was more sensitive to flow rates under conditions of higher ionomer content. Due to the combined effect of EAS, ionic conductivity, and mass transfer characteristics (all of which varied according to the ionomer content), an MEA with 30 wt.% ionomer content at the cathode (25 wt.% at the anode) was shown to yield the best performance.</P>
Neoparamoeba sp. Infection on Gills of Olive Flounder, Paralichthys olivaceus in Korea

Amoebic gill disease of flounder, Paralichthys olivaceus was diagnosed at commerical culture facility in South Korea. The amoeba was identified as a species of the genus Neoparamoeba based on the morpholgical characteristics of trophozoites. Transmisson electron microscopy revealed the presence of a symbiotic organism, parasome in the cytoplasm and dense glycocalyx on the surface of the trophozoites. They lacked the boat-shaped microscales on the surface and contained numerous vacuoles and channels, mitochondria in the cytoplasm. Colonization of amoebae on gill tissue elicited extensive fusion and hyperplasia of gill lamella.
