How much do family members satisfy with the intensive care unit in South Korea?

Meeting the needs of family members of patients in the intensive care unit(ICU) is an important aspect of patient- and family-centered care. We evaluated the satisfaction and ICU experiences of the family members of ICU admitted patients We developed a survey asking the family members about their ICU experience, which evaluated the 3 major outcomes: (1)understanding of general information on ICU, (2) understanding of medical status of ICU patient, and (3)satisfaction of information received. The mean score of three outcomes, which represent overall family satisfaction with the ICU care, was calculated for each variable. The study was conducted at the medical ICU of Seoul National University Bundang Hospital from August, 2014 to February, 2015. One hundred three surveys were returned. The satisfaction of information received had highest score(79.8±20.6), followed by understanding of medical status of ICU patient(76.0±19.4), and understanding of general information on ICU(58.5±23.9). The score of overall family satisfaction was 71.0±16.7. Multi-variate analysis revealed the patient age over than 70 year-old, lower score of satisfaction of previous admission and lower level of patient’s education were significantly associated with decreased overall family satisfaction. The patient age over than 70 year-old, lower score of satisfaction of previous admission and lower level of patient’s education were significant factors associated with overall satisfaction. Further researche using validated questionnaire are essential to improve the family members ICU experience.

WebDAV는 HTTP 1.1을 확장한 기능으로 지역적으로 분산되어 있는 사용자들 사이에 공동 저작활동을 지원하는 표준 프로토콜이다. WebDAV의 주요 기능인 속성 관리는 저장소의 역할과 함께 자원의 추가 정보를 관리하고 활용할 수 있는 장점을 가지고 있다. 그러므로 WebDAV 기반의 응용 프로그램을 개발하기 위해서는 사용자 정의 속성의 설계 및 속성의 효과적인 관리가 매우 중요한 역할을 한다. 본 논문에서는 협업을 지원하는 TeamWorkSpace에 필요한 WebDAV 사용자 정의 속성을 설계하고 설계 된 속성을 효과적으로 관리하기 위한 방법을 제안한다. WebDAV를 기반으로 TeamWorkSpace를 개발함으로써 협업을 위한 편리한 자원의 관리 및 공유가 가능할 것이다.
Conductivity‐Dependent Completion of Oxygen Reduction on Oxide Catalysts

<P><B>Abstract</B></P><P>The electric conductivity‐dependence of the number of electrons transferred during the oxygen reduction reaction is presented. Intensive properties, such as the number of electrons transferred, are difficult to be considered conductivity‐dependent. Four different perovskite oxide catalysts of different conductivities were investigated with varying carbon contents. More conductive environments surrounding active sites, achieved by more conductive catalysts (providing internal electric pathways) or higher carbon content (providing external electric pathways), resulted in higher number of electrons transferred toward more complete 4e reduction of oxygen, and also changed the rate‐determining steps from two‐step 2e process to a single‐step 1e process. Experimental evidence of the conductivity dependency was described by a microscopic ohmic polarization model based on effective potential localized nearby the active sites.</P>
Effect of Zn addition on electrochemical performance of Al-air battery

We investigate the effect of Zn addition on an Al–air battery at the anode. The tested Al–air battery consists of a 6 mol% potassium hydroxide (KOH) electrolyte, a fiberglass separator, and a Pt/C + IrO2 cathode. The Zn-added Al(Al60Zn40)–air battery shows a higher power density of 48 mW/cm2, while a pure Al–air battery exhibits a power density of 38 mW/cm2. Approximately, 30 charge/discharge cycles of the Al–air battery were performed, while ~ 71 cycles of the Al60Zn40–air battery were performed. Adding Zn to the Al–air battery improves its electrochemical performance and the number of charge/discharge cycles can be significantly increased.

Recently, as earth environment and high oil price problem has been rising, raising fuel efficiently of cars and emissions control have been focused. A transmitter, which is a core component of an automobile, is getting developed as a product with a large output of power and high efficiency combining multistage, raising fuel efficiency, and weight reduction. In addition, components which belong to powertrain have become lighter and the development of the strong designed products has been accelerated.

<P>A novel architecture consisting of Si nanowires internally grown from porous graphite is synthesized by etching of graphite with a lamellar structure via a VLS (vapor–liquid–solid) process. This strategy gives the high electrode density of 1.5 g/cm<SUP>3</SUP>, which is comparable with practical anode of the Li-ion battery. Our product demonstrates a high volumetric capacity density of 1363 mAh/cm<SUP>3</SUP> with 91% Coulombic efficiency and high rate capability of 568 mAh/cm<SUP>3</SUP> even at a 5C rate.
