정책수단과 장래 발생할 사건 간에 시차가 존재할 때 미래의 상태를 예측하는 데 유용한 선행지표의 개발에 다양한 방법들이 모색되어 왔다. 미래의 상황전개에 대응하는데 필요한 정보가 조기에 제공된다면 최근과 같은 경제위기의 폭은 크게 감소될 수 있을 것이다. 그간 금융환경이 변화하면서 금융변수와 실물경제활동 간에 관계가불안정해지고 괴리가 심화됨에 따라 본 연구에서는 미래의 경기동향을 미리 예측할 수 있는 국내외 금리변수들의 예측 능력을 추정해 비교 평가해 보았다. Various methods have been suggested in developing the useful leading indicators to predict the actual realizations when time laps exist between policy plannings and future events. The recent economic crisis could have been relived if the information necessary to respond to the future evolutionary process is provided in advance. As the relations between the financial variables and the real economic activity become unstable because of the changes in the financial environment, this study attempts to estimate the capabilities of various internal and external term spreads in predicting the future business trend, followed by comparison and evaluation.
돼지인플루엔자바이러스 A형 H3 국내 분리주에 대한 혈청학적 역학조사

A Total of 703 swine sera from 55 swine farrns (Mar. 1998 through Feb. 2001) were nation-wide collected for the presence of the antibody to influenza A virus H3 subtype isolate. The presence of antibody was tested by hernagglutination inhibition with chicken red blood cells and seropositiveness was determined by HI titer ${\geq}1$: 40. Sero-prevalence was evaluated based on year, season, region and age, respectively. In consequence, there were seme differences by year, season and region, respectively. High susceptibility was routinely observed in 60 and 90 day-old piglets. Therefore, it seems that the sero-prevalence to swine influenza virus H3 subtype isolate is useful for the prevention and control of swine influenza in Korea.

Ambient air pollution has been linked to multiple chronic diseases, and inflammatory responses and coagulation impairments were suggested as the underlying mechanism. We investigated the effects of short-, middle-, and long-term exposure to ambient air pollution on the markers of inflammation and coagulation using data from 56,643 participants in the Korean Genome and Epidemiology Study- Health Examinees Study between 2012-2017. Community Multiscale Air Quality system with surface data assimilation estimated exposures of criteria air pollutants for participants based on geo-coded residential addresses. Exposure time periods were categorized as short-term: day of visit and up to 7 days prior; middle-term: 1 and 3 months prior; and long-term: 6 months and 1 and 2 years prior for the average concentrations of PM10, PM2.5, SO2, NO2, CO, and O3. Multivariable linear regression models were applied to estimate the percent changes in high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP), white blood cells, fibrinogen, and platelets per interquartile-range increment for air pollutants. The strongest positive associations were observed between hs-CRP and 1-year PM10 (4.4% [95% CI: 3.2%, 5.7%]); white blood cells and 1-year NO2 (1.6% [95% CI: 1.3%, 2.0%]); and fibrinogen and 1-year PM10 (0.7% [95% CI: 0.5%, 0.9%]). The direction of associations of pollutants with markers remained similar across exposure windows, with a pattern of stronger effect estimate for longer terms. Our findings indicated that exposure to air pollution may play a role in the inflammation and coagulation process.

The 23 open reading frame (ORF) 5 sequences of Korean type II porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSV) were collected from viremic sera from the (modified live vaccine) MLV-vaccinating and non-vaccinating farms from 2007 to 2008. The samples were phylogenetically analyzed with previous ORF5 sequences, including type I Korean PRRSV, and previously reported or collected sequences from 1997 to 2008. A MN184-like subgroup of type II Korean PRRSV was newly identified in the viremic sera collected from 2007 to 2008. And of the type I PRRSVs, one subgroup had 87.2∼88.9% similarity with the Lelystad virus, showing a close relationship with the 27∼2003 strain of Spain. The maximum parsimony tree of type II PRRSV from 1997 to 2008 showed that they had evolved to four lineages, subgroups 1, 2, 3 and 4. Most of the recently collected type II PRRSVs belonged to subgroup 4 (48%). The region of three B-cell epitopes and two T-cell epitopes of ORF5 amino acids sequences was considerably different from the MLV in subgroups 3 and 4. In conclusion, the existence of type I PRRSV, which was genetically different from Lelystad virus (Prototype of type I PRRSV), and heterologous type II PRRSVs of viremic pigs detected even in the MLV-vaccinating farms indicated the need for new vaccine approaches for the control of PRRSV in Korea.
교차로계획에서 현대식 회전교차로(Modern Roundabout)의 도입 타당성

This study deals with the rationalities of modern roundabouts in the intersection planning. The goals are three-folds: (1) to compare modern roundabouts with the traditional traffic circles, and (2) to describe the types of modern roundabouts, and (3) to analyze the effectiveness of introducing the modern roundabouts to the intersection planning. The main results are as follows. Frist, the modern roundabouts have such the merits as improved safety, shorter delay, increased capacity and aesthetics compared to the traffic circles. Secondly, the modern roundabouts are described as six types of roundabouts according to the entering speed, number of lane, capacities and others. Finally, the literature survey shows that the roundabouts have such the general effects as the improved safety, decreased delay, urban aesthetics and other.
