        Perioperative cerebral infarction is rare but may be fatal. This is a case report of acute cerebral infarction following general anesthesia in geriatric patient. A 72 year old female patient was admitted for transabdominal hysterectomy and bilateral saipingooophorectomy and pelvic lymphnode dissection. Preanesthetic assessment revealed a history of hypertension and diabetes mellitus. After surgery, she was alert but she gradually appeared to have right hemiparesis and confusion. Emergency CT brain scan showed early cerebral infarction in the middle cerebral artery territory. She was transferred to the depart ment of neurology and received treatment. She was discharged at 19 days after surgery with improved symptoms.

        교합력, 교근과 두개안면골 형태의 관계 : 두부규격방사선사진과 초음파진단영상 분석

        교합력과 교근의 두께 및 면적 그리고 두개안변골 형태 간의 연관성을 평가하고자 하였다. 성인 141명의 교합력 측정,측방 및 후전방 두부규격방사선사진 그리고 교근 표층의 초음파진단영상을 촬영한 후, 이들 간의 관계를 통계분석으로 비교,평가하였다. 교합력과 두개안면골의 형태간에는 남녀 모두 유의한 상관관계가 있으며,교합력과 교근 간에는 남녀 모두 유의한 상관관계가 없었다. 그러나 교근은 남자의 두개안면골 형태에서 유의한 상관관계를 보였고, 특히 교근의 두께 및 면적이 증가할수록 상악너비가 유의하게 감소하게 나타났다. 이는 남자의 교합력은 심층 교근과 관계가 크고,여자의 교합력은 표층 교근과 관계가 큰 것이 원인으로 판단된다. The aim of this study was to investigate the relationships between bite force, masseter muscle and craniofacial morphology. 141 individuals were included. Bite forces were measured with a bite force transducer(SKT 2004). The facial morphology of the samples was evaluated on the Lateral and PA cephalometric radiographs(Asahi CX-90 SP). Ultrasonographic images were obtained for 36 individuals (Logiq 500). General status of the subjects were also measured for investigating possible relationships. Their relationships were analyzed by means of t-test. Pearson's correlation coefficients and simple regression analysis, In conclusion, bite force of molar was significantly correlated with craniofacial morphology for males and females, but not to masseter muscles. The masseter muscle for males had a significant correlation with craniofacial morphology. The unexpected negative correlations between size of masseter muscle and maxillary width was revealed for males. One possible way to arrive at a plausible explanation for the correlation between masster muscle, bite force and craniofacial morphology of males were the deep layer of masseter muscle had a great influence on males and the superficial layer of masseter muscle had a great influence on females.

      • 오렌지로부터 아플라톡신B₁의 정량분석에 관한 연구

        Aflatoxin B₁ was known to have the strongest poisonous character among Aflatoxin compounds. To search the production of Aflatoxin B1 according to the change of temperature, relative humidity and incubation days, orange incubated with Aspergillus parasiticus KCCM 35078 was incubated at 20℃, 25℃, 30℃ at relative humidity 60%, 70%, 80% and for incubation time 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 days.. Production of Aflatoxin B₁ shows that the highest production appeared at 25℃ and its relative humidity 70%. The result that was quantitatively analyzed by using HPLC was 77.41ppm, and by using Fluoroscence detector was 87.87ppm. - Production of Aflatoxin B₁ shows that the lowest production appreared at 20℃ and its relative humidity 80%(HPLC), 60%(Fluoroscence detector). The result that was quantitatively analyzed by using HPLC was 4.47ppm, and by using Fluoroscence detector was 4.17ppm. The structure of Aflatoxin B₁ was identify with authentic sample by using instrumental analysis methods of GC/MS, ¹H-NMR, FT-IR respectively.

        Design On Secure Messenger Mechanism Using Elliptic Curve Cryptography and IPSec

        When most of existing instant messengers log on server, they transmit to sever in encoding password to RC5. but RC5 don't be secured because it has been known many of password cracking tools. Also, messengers don't have any protection on the transmitted information with communicating two hosts since loging on, endangering the privacy of the user. As a counter measure, messengers need to provide security service including message encryption. In this paper, we designed a key exchange method of password representing fast, effective and high security degree, using ECC(Elliptic Curve Cryptography) that being known the very stronger than another public key cryptography with same key size. To effectively improve data transmission and its security using IPSec protocol between users, tunnel mode is introduced. Tunnel mode transmits Host-to-Host data through virtual pipelines on the Internet.

      • Synthesis of PAMAM Dendrimer Derivatives with Enhanced Buffering Capacity and Remarkable Gene Transfection Efficiency

        <P>In this study, we introduced histidine residues into <SMALL>l</SMALL>-arginine grafted PAMAM G4 dendrimers to enhance proton buffering capacity and evaluated the physicochemical characteristics and transfection efficacies in vitro. The results showed that the synthesized PAMAM G4 derivatives effectively delivered pDNA inside cells and the transfection level improved considerably as the number of histidine residues increased. Grafting histidine residues into the established polymer vector PAMAM G4-arginine improved their proton buffering capacity. The cytotoxicity of PAMAM G4 derivatives was tested and it was confirmed that they displayed relatively lower cytotoxicity compared to PEI25KD in various cell lines. Also, confocal microscopy results revealed that PAMAM G4 derivatives effectively delivered pDNA into cells, particularly into the nucleus.       • HOLA 기반 특징추출과 BP 신경망을 이용한 얼굴 인식

        본 논문에서는 HOLA(고차국소자동상관계수)를 이용한 특징추출과 BP(Backpropagation Network) 알고리즘을 이용하여 얼굴을 인식하는 방법을 제안한다. 이를 위해 동일한 환경, 즉 일정한 조도 하에서 카메라로부터 동일거리에 있는 영상을 256×256 크기의 그레이 스케일(Gray Scale)로 취득하여 영상내의 잡음을 가우시안(Gaussian) 필터를 이용하여 제거한다. 차영상을 이용하여 얼굴영역을 분리한 후 얼굴영역의 특징벡터를 구하기 위하여 HOLA(고차 국소 자동 상관함수)를 사용한다. 계산된 특징벡터는 BP 신경망의 학습을 통하여 얼굴인식을 위한 데이터로 사용된다. 시뮬레이션을 통해 제안된 알고리즘에 의한 인식률향상과 속도 향상을 입증한다.

        본 논문에서는 원영상 영역내 포함된 우성의 에지에 대한 구체적 정보를 이용하기 위하여 Haar 웨이블릿을 이용한 에지영상 추출한다. 추출된 에지영상에 얼굴영역을 검출하기위해 이진화된 영상에 설정된 임계값을 통하여 얻은 이진영상으로부터 얼굴영역을 검출하기 위하여 얼굴의 일반적인 구조적 정보와 처리시간이 빠른 수평, 수직히스토그램 분석법을 이용하였다. 얼굴영역을 분리한 영상에 얼굴영역의 특징벡터를 구하기 위하여 26개의 특징 벡터를 사용한 효율적인 고차 국소 자동 상관함수를 사용하였다. 계산된 특징벡터는 BP 신경망의 학습을 통하여 얼굴인식을 위한 데이터로 사용하여제안된 알고리즘에 의한 인식률향상과 속도 향상을 입증한다.

        Predictive Value of Post-Transplant Bone Marrow Plasma Cell Percent in Multiple Myeloma Patients Undergone Autologous Transplantation

        <P><B>Background/Aims</B></P><P>Autologous stem cell transplantation (ASCT) has become the treatment of choice for patients with multiple myeloma (MM). Studies have shown that maintenance treatment with interferon-alpha is associated with improved survival rates following ASCT. However, despite these recent advances in regimes, relapses are inevitable; thus, the prediction of relapse following ASCT requires assessment.</P><P><B>Methods</B></P><P>We retrospectively analyzed 39 patients who received ASCT between 2003 and 2008. All patients received chemotherapy with vincristine, adriamycin, and dexamethasone (VAD), and ASCT was performed following high-dose melphalan conditioning therapy. We evaluated the influence of the post-transplant day +14 (D+14) bone marrow plasma cell percent (BMPCp) (≥ 2 vs. < 2%), international scoring system (ISS) stage (II vs. III), response after 3 cycles of VAD therapy (complete response [CR] vs. non-CR), deletion of chromosome 13q (del[13q]) (presence of the abnormality vs. absence), and BMPCp at diagnosis (≥ 50 vs. < 50%) on progression-free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS).</P><P><B>Results</B></P><P>During the median follow-up of 28.0 months, the median PFS and OS were 29.1 and 42.1 months, respectively. By univariate analysis, ISS stage III at diagnosis, BMPCp ≥ 50% at diagnosis, CR after 3 cycles of VAD therapy, del (13q) by fluorescence <I>in situ</I> hybridization, and BMPCp ≥ 2% at post-transplant D+14 were correlated with PFS and OS. A multivariate analysis revealed that a post-transplant D+14 BMPCp ≥ 2% (PFS, hazard ratio [HR] = 4.426, <I>p</I> = 0.008; OS, HR = 3.545, <I>p</I> = 0.038) and CR after 3 cycles of VAD therapy (PFS, HR = 0.072, <I>p</I> = 0.014; OS, HR = 0.055, <I>p</I> = 0.015) were independent prognostic parameters.</P><P><B>Conclusions</B></P><P>Post-transplant D+14 BMPCp is a useful parameter for predicting the outcome for patients with MM receiving ASCT.</P>
