      • 大形建物 放流水 再利用을 위한 濾過工程의 處理特性

        To reuse discharge water in large building, pilot - plant study was conducted experimentally, and the results were as follows ; 1. pH in effluent was lower than it in influent, because organisms was decomposed by microorganisms in filtration tower. Since CO₂ gas was generated, dissolved in water, and then converted into carbonic acid, pH seemed to be influenced. 2. The initial concentrations of COD, BOD and SS were unstable but stable with time. If full - scale plant did unusually operate for a long time, when did pilot - plant, it was known that COD was somewhat influenced but BOD & SS were almost not influences. 3. The production cost of reuse was about 256won/ton. If this subject of study were compared with Pusan, water supply & sewage fee would be 500 - 890won/ton. Therefore, when discharge water is reused to a water closet, there would be no problem at all. 4. If about 50% of wastewater will be reused from daily average generated volume, average 700,000won will be saved monthly. On the other hand, economically a additional tax exemption could be expected there from, and it's more economical. In case of D. University, it's estimated that reuse will be accomodated.

        Topical Tacrolimus for the Treatment of Atopic Dermatitis with Truncal Lesion

        Background: Topical tacrolimus is an effective anti-inflammatory therapy for acute and chronic states of atopic dermatitis (AD) in both adults and children. Topical tacrolimus has particular use at sensitive areas such as the face, anogenitals, and skin folds of neck and extremities. However, many AD patients also experience aggravated symptoms on trunk. Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate the efficacy and safety of topical tacrolimus for AD patients with truncal lesions. Methods: AD patients with truncal lesions who were aged ≥2 years were recruited from 20 centres in Korea. They received treatment with topical tacrolimus ointment twice daily during 4 weeks. The primary end point was change of the local eczema area and severity index (EASI) of the trunk from baseline to day 28. The secondary end points were changes in the patient global assessment (PGA) score and itch visual analogue scale (VAS) score of the trunk between baseline and day 28. Results: Two hundred and ninety- one patients were recruited, and 176 patients completed the full 4-week treatment course. By the end of the treatment, the mean local EASI of the trunk (2.2±4.71) was significantly decreased from that at baseline (4.71±4.03, p<0.001). PGA (1.71±1.15) and itch VAS score of the trunk (2.61±2.19) on day 28 were also profoundly decreased compared with the baseline (2.96±1.07 and 5.15±2.47, respectively). No serious adverse events were observed during the study period. Conclusion: Topical tacrolimus is an effective and safe therapy for truncal lesions in AD patients.         Background: Topical tacrolimus is an effective anti-inflammatory therapy for acute and chronic state of atopic dermatitis (AD) in both adults and children. Topical tacrolimus has particular use at sensitive areas like face, anogenitals, and skin folds, where have greater adverse risk of topical corticosteroids. However, many AD patients experience aggravated symptoms in trunk as well as flexural areas. Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate efficacy and safety of topical tacrolimus for AD patients with truncal lesion. Methods: An open-label, single arm, multicenter (20 centers), observational study was conducted. AD patients (aged ≥ 2 years) with truncal lesion were applied topical tacrolimus ointment twice daily during 4 weeks. The primary efficacy end point was the change from baseline in local Eczema Area and Severity Index (EASI) of trunk at day 28. The secondary end points were the change from baseline in patient global assessment (PGA) score and itch VAS (visual analogue scale) of trunk at day 28. In addition, variations of local EASI, PGA, and itch VAS of trunk during study period were compared with those of whole body. All adverse events were recorded for investigation period. Results: Total 291 patients were recruited in this study, and 176 patients (99 males and 77 females, mean age: 18.3 years, range 2~59) completed the full 4-week treatment course. By the end of treatment, median local EASI of trunk (0.93±0.74) was significantly decreased than those at the baseline (1.74±0.8) ( p < 0.001). PGA score of trunk (1.71±1.15) and itch VAS of trunk (2.61±2.19) at day 28 were also profoundly decreased compared with baseline (2.96±1.07 and 5.15±2.47, respectively). The percent improvement from baseline in PGA and itch VAS of trunk was significantly greater compared with those of whole body (p=0.048 and p=0.013, respectively). There was no serious adverse events except local reactions including burning sensation (n=17), itching sensation (n=8), and erythema (n=1). Conclusion: Topical tacrolimus is an effective and safe therapy for truncal lesion of AD patients.

        We proposed a quantum key distribution (QKD) among three parties using Greenberger-Horne- Zeilinger (GHZ) states. In this scheme, two parties perform local unitary operations while the other party performs sequential operations composed of a CNOT (controlled-not) operation, a Bell state measurement, and a one-particle polarization measurement in order to identify the local unitary operations of the first two parties.

        Estimation of surface emissivity for conduction-cooled metal plates at cryogenic temperatures

        The relation between surface emissivity and temperature distribution is experimentally and analytically investigated for a conduction-cooled metal plate in vacuum. Experimental set-up consists of a rectangular metal plate placed vertically in a cryostat and thermally anchored to the coldhead of a GM cryocooler at the top. Temperature is measured at a number of locations over the plate with platinum resistors mounted on the plate. A parallel analysis on the balance of heat conduction through the plate and thermal radiation on its surface is performed to numerically calculate the temperature distribution having the same boundary conditions as experiment. By comparing the two results, an average emissivity of the plate is roughly estimated for different metal plates and different surface conditions. The estimated emissivity in present study is less than the listed values for highly polished stainless steel, and meets a fairly good agreement for oxidized copper surface.

      • Two-Stage Cryocooling Design for Hybrid Superconducting Fault Current Limiter

        <P>New concept of two-stage cryogenic cooling system for full-scale hybrid superconducting fault current limiter (SFCL) is proposed and designed with an objective to significantly reduce the capital and operational costs. Even though we have developed and successfully tested a cryocooling system for 300 A level, it is not easy to scale up the same technology to 3¿/22.9 kV/2.5 kA level, mainly because of the heavy cost of GM or Stirling cycle coolers to cover the increased thermal load. It is proposed in this study to employ a large capacity of JT cooler for heat intercept at an intermediate location of current leads. The JT coolers with mixed refrigerant are very reliable and commercially available at an inexpensive price. Detailed cryogenic design of cryostat and heat intercept components is carried out in consideration of thermal characteristics of cryocoolers and electrical insulation. It may be concluded that the two-stage cooling with a JT cooler at 130 K and a GM cooler at 77 K is feasible in practice, and can significantly reduce the capital cost and power consumption.</P>

        불평형 회전체의 동적평형 방법에 대한 실험적 연구 -Seven Run Method를 이용하여-

        본 연구에서는 동적평형 방법을 이용하여 두 지지축대에 설치된 불평형 회전체의 평형을 바로 잡았으며, seven run method를 이용하여 보정질량을 산출하였다. 또한 평형잡이 전후 진동의 감쇠를 조사하였다. 실험결과 두 지지축대에서 측정된 진동의 진폭은 불평형 질량에 비례함을 확인하였으며, 위상각 측정없이 진동의 진폭 측정만을 필요로 하는 seven run method가 동적평형 방법으로 유효함을 입증하였다. In this study, the unbalanced rigid rotor mounted on two pedestals is balanced u. ng the dynamic balancing procedure, and the compensating masses are estimated by the seven run method. Also, the reductions of vibration level are examined, before and after balancing procedures. In the experimental results, it is shown that the vibration amplitudes measured at the two pedestals are proportional to the unbalanced mass. The seven run method which requires measurement of vibration amplitudes only and not vibration phase angle is proved markedly useful in consideration of the dynamic balancing procedure.

      • 생쥐 대장 평활근에서 막전압-의존성 이온 전류에 대한 tamoxifen 효과

        Background and Objectives : Tamoxifen is a widely used anticancer drug for breast cancer causing frequent gastrointestinal side effects. The change of gastrointestinal motility is associated with the alteration of activities of membrane ion channels. The ion channel is found to play an important role in regulating membrane potential and cell excitability. This study was performed to investigate the effects of tamoxifen on the membrane ionic currents in colonic myocytes. Materials and Methods : Single colonic myocytes were isolated by using a collganase from murine proximal colon. The membrane currents were recorded by using a whole-cell patch clamp method at room temperature. Results : Two types of voltage-dependent K+ currents (A-type and delayed rectifier K+ currents) were recorded. Tamoxifen inhibited both types of voltage-dependent K+ currents (10 μM). However, tamoxifen did not change the half-inactivation potential and the recovery time of voltage-dependent K+ currents. Chelerythrine, a protein kinase C inhibitor, and phorbol-12,13-dibutyrate, a protein kinase C activator, did not affect the voltage-dependent K+ currents Guanosine 5-O-2-thiodiphosphate (GDPβS, a G-protein inhibitor), also did not affect on tamoxifen-induced inhibition of voltage-dependent K+ currents. In audition, tamoxifen completely inhibited the voltage-dependent Ca²+ currents in whole-test ranges. Conclusion : These results suggest that tamoxifen inhibits the voltage-dependent membrane ionic currents in colonic smooth muscle cells, and that this action may be relevant to the gastrointestinal side effects
