Background/Aims: For the diagnosis of fatty liver, physical examination, biochemical test, radiological study and histological examination are being used. Among the various diagnostics, liver biopsy is essential for the confirmative diagnosis. The authors studied the accuracy of ultrasonography in the diagnosis of fatty liver in comparison with a histologic diagnosis. Methods: We perfonned ultrasonography and liver biopsy in 19 patients with suspected fatty liver. The criteria for the diagnosis of fatty liver on ultrasonography is diffusely increased echogenicity of the liver and the criteria for diagnosis of fatty liver on liver biopsy is based on degree of fatty metamor- phosis. We compared a sonographic finding with the histologic grade of fatty liver. Also, we investigated liver function test and lipid profile. Results: The sensitivity of ultrasonography in diagnosis of fatty liver was 100 percent. The correlation of fatty liver in ultrasonography and histology was 73.6%. Therefore, the degree of fatty infiltration in ultrasonography was significantly correlated with degree of fatty accumulation of liver (p$lt;0.05). Liver enzyme titer revealed an increase slighter than normal but cholesterol, triglyceride, and total lipid level were in the normal range. Conclusions: The degree of fatty infiltration in ultrasonography was significantly correlated with that in the liver biopsy and the sensitivity of ultrasonography in the diagnosis of fatty liver was high. Therefore we have concluded that abdominal ultrasonography with a liver biopsy is useful in the diagnosis of fatty liver and follow-up.

Application of epidermal grafting to the raw surfaces is an alternative treatment to split-thickness skin grafting. Blisters are produced by the suction device at a negative pressure of 200-300mmHg for 3-4 hours. Epidermal sheet of blister roofs was grafted on the raw surfaces. Excellent epithelization was seen in eight patients with raw surfaces caused by burn, trauma, infection of graft donor site, defect of grafted skin. The advantages of this method is easy and simple procedure with little discomfort, no complications like milia, inclusion cyst on the recipient site, and no scarring in the donor sites.

Akt/protein kinase B is a well-known cell survival factor and activated by many stimuli including mechanical stretching. Therefore, we evaluated the cardioprotective effect of a brief mechanical stretching of rat hearts and determined whether activation of Akt through phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase (PI3K) is involved in stretch-induced cardioprotection (SIC). Stretch preconditioning reduced infarct size and improved postischemic cardiac function compared to the control group. Phosphorylation of Akt and its downstream substrate, GSK-3β, was increased by mechanical stretching and completely blocked by wortmannin, a PI3K inhibitor. Treatment with lithium or SB216763 (GSK-3β inhibitors) before ischemia induction mimicked the protective effects of SIC on rat heart. Gadolinium (Gd3+), a blocker of stretch-activated ion channels (SACs), inhibited the stretch-induced phosphorylation of Akt and GSK-3β. Furthermore, SIC was abrogated by wortmannin and Gd3+. In vivo stretching induced by an aorto-caval shunt increased Akt phosphorylation and reduced myocardial infarction; these effects were diminished by wortmannin and Gd3+ pretreatment. Our results showed that mechanical stretching can provide cardioprotection against ischemiareperfusion injury. Additionally, the activation of Akt, which might be regulated by SACs and the PI3K pathway, plays an important role in SIC.

최근 딥러닝의 기술발전으로 자연어 처리 분야에서 Q&A, 문장추천, 개체명 인식 등 다양한 연구가 진행 되고 있다. 딥러닝 기반 자연어 처리에서 좋은 성능을 보이는 트랜스포머 기반 BERT 모델의 성능향상에 대한 다양한 연구도 함께 진행되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 토픽모델인 잠재 디리클레 할당을 이용한 토픽별 지식그래프 분류와 입력문장의 토픽을 추론하는 방법으로 K-BERT 모델을 학습한다. 분류된 토픽 지식그래프와 추론된 토픽을 이용해 K-BERT 모델에서 대용량 지식그래프 사용의 효율적 방법을 제안한다.
