MAGNETIC-RECONNECTION GENERATED SHOCK WAVES AS A DRIVER OF SOLAR SURGES

<P>We found that a surge consists of multiple shock features. In our high-spatiotemporal spectroscopic observation of the surge, each shock is identified with the sudden appearance of an absorption feature at the blue wings of the Ca II 8542 angstrom line and Ha line that gradually shifts to the red wings. The shock features overlap with one another with the time interval of 110 s, which is much shorter than the duration of each shock feature, 300-400 s. This finding suggests that the multiple shocks might not have originated from a train of sinusoidal waves generated by oscillations and flows in the photosphere. As we found the signature of the magnetic flux cancelations at the base of the surge, we conclude that the multiple shock waves in charge of the surge were generated by the magnetic reconnection that occurred in the low atmosphere in association with the flux cancelation.</P>
이산화탄소를 이용한 흉강경하 수술시 혈역학적 및 동맥혈가스의 변동

The development of endoscopic video systems and instrumentation has allowed therapeutic thoracoscopy for peripheral lung resection, pleural biopsy, open lung biopsy, closure of leaking blebs, parietal pleurodesis, and perieardiectomy and biopsy. The purpose of this study is to investigate the cardiovascular effects and blood gas changes during thoracoscopic surgery with one-lung ventilation and intrathoracic CO₂ insufflation to collapse the affected site of the lung and so to get optimal surgical field under lateral position. Measurements of cardiac index, systemic vascular resistance, central venous pressure, heart rate, mean arterial blood pressure, and end-tidal PCO₂ were done in twenty three patients who underwent bleb resection via thoracoscopy with intrathoracic CO₂ insufflation. Each measurement was done 10 minutes after tracheal intubation(control), 10 minutes after position change, l0 minutes after one-lung ventilation, 30 minutes after CO₂ insufflation, 1 hour ater CO₂ deflation, and 6 hours afO₂ deflation. Also the measurement of arterial blood gas was done before anesthesia and used as a control. The results were as follows; 1) End-tidal PCO₂ was increased after CO₂ insufflation. 2) Arterial PCO₂ was increased after CO₂ insufflation and until 1 hour after CO₂ deflation, and the value measured 6 hours afer deflation was recovered to the preanesthetic value. 3) Arterial PO₂ was decrease after one-lung ventilation, but there was no change after CO₂ insufflation. 4) Mean arterial blood pressure was increased after one-lung ventilation, after CO₂ insufflation, 1 hour after CO ₂ deflation and 6 hours after CO₂ deflation from the control values respectively. 5) Heart rate was decreased after position change, and until one-lung ventilation, but it was increased after CO₂ insufflation. 6) Central venous pressure was increased after position change, after one-lung ventilation and after CO insufflation. 7) Cardiac index waa increaeed after CO₂ insufflation compared to the immediately preceding stemic vascular resistance was not changed throughout the procedure.

We have been using general anesthesia with thoracic epidural anesthesia to manage intrao-perative and postoperative pain for thoracic and cardiac surgery patients. Hemodynamic changes due to sympathetic block with epidural anesthesia is dependent on the level of sympathetic block. Thoracic epidural anesthesia block the cardiac sympathetic innervation, so there may be changes of cardiac function and pressure dependent coronary blood flow especially in coronary artery diseases. To investigate the effects of thoracic epidural anesthesia on coronary blood flow and hemodynamic changes, we performed thoracic epidural anesthesia by injection of 0.5% bupivacaine via a surgieally introduced catheter in dogs. The results were as follows ; 1) Coronary blood flow, systolic, mean and diastolic blood pressure, heart rate and cardiac output were decreased at 5 min, 10 min, 15 min, 20 min, 30 min, 45 min, 60 min, 90 min, 120 min after epidural injection of 0.5% bupivaeaine compared to control value (p$lt;0.05). 2) Systemie vascular resistance, central venous pressure, pulmonary artery pressure, pulmonary capillary wedge pressure, stroke volume and pulmonary vascular resistance were not changed after epidural injection of 0.5% bupivacaine.
전산화단층촬영에서 신체조건에 따른 자동노출과 수동노출의 차이에 대한 연구

Purpose To minimize the radiation exposure during the computed tomography (CT) examination, the practical amount of radiation exposure was reviewed in terms of anthropometric characteristics of the examinees and the methods of exposure control - automatic and manual. Materials and Methods During 5 months from March to July 2006, radiation exposure data of 200 examinees who had either chest or abdominal CT examination were collected from 16 channel slice multidetector row CT (16 slice MDCT, equipment A) and 64 channel slice multidetector row CT (64 slice MDCT, equipment B) in Hwasun Chonnam national University Hospital. Data were analyzed in relation to examinee’s body mass index (BMI), age, sex and noise index. The difference of radiation exposure between automatic and manual exposure control were also analyzed respectively Results Of total 400 examinees (267 men and 133 women), the amount of radiation exposure was significantly correlated with BMI, body weight and the noise index. The noise index was positively related with body weight. In both equipments, the automatic exposure generally showed lower radiation exposure than manual exposure. The radiation exposure in abdominal examination in e quipment A, however, showed higher radiation exposure in the automatic exposure than in the manual exposure, although statistically insignificant. The exposure levels were higher in the automatic exposure in the 82 percent of abdominal examinees for the equipment A. Conclusion Generally speaking, the automatic exposure method are superior to the manual exposure method to minimize the amount of radiation exposure during the CT examination. But this is not always the case. This study suggest that all the exposure protocol for the CT examination be reviewed through practical evaluation at the actual settings.

8200호대 전기기관차는 EuroSprinter 2세대 화물형인 ES64F를 원형으로 하여 대한민국의 운용 환경에 맞추어 조정한 기관차이다. 지멘스에서 유명한 VVVF 인버터 계열인 SIBAS32계열 전장품을 사용하며, 1300[kW]급 견인전동기 4개로 5200[kW]의 출력을 낼 수 있다. 현재 8200호대 전기기관차는 견인전동기의 노후화로 인해 유지보수가 잦아지고 있는 실정이며, 원천기술의 미확보로 인해 고장에 대한 신속한 대응이 어려워지고 있다. 이에 8200호대 견인전동기의 국산화에 대한 연구가 진행되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 8200호대 전기기관차 견인전동기의 사양과 FEM모델에 대해 기술하였으며, 전원주파수와 견인전동기의 속도 변화에 따른 T-N 커브 및 운전점의 특성을 해석하였다. Korail 8200 series are electric locomotives reconstructing the second generation model of the Siemens EuroSprinter ES64F to adjust them to Korean operating environment. With four 1,300 kW electric motors, the total traction power is 5,200 kW by using SIBAS32 of VVVF inverter. Although the series have been needed more maintenance works with their deterioration, it is difficult to deal with that due to the lack of source technology. As a result, the research on the localization of technology is being performed nowadays. This paper is aimed at introducing the traction motor’s specification and the result of FEM, and analyzing driving characteristics as well as T-N curve according to the change of source frequency and the motor’s rotative velocity.
