The base stations of CDMA(Code Division Multiple Access) digital system are shared with those of analog AMPS(Advanced Mobile Phone Service) system because of limited space, easy maintenance, and economical reasons. Moreover, the primary channel frequency of the CDMA system is next to the A' frequency band of the analog system. The transmitted signal of the analog system thus can be received in the CDMA system and the received analog signal may be intermodulated with the received digital signal. In a series of efforts for finding the intermodulation source, there have been serious testing and examining on the antenna, connectors, and feed lines of the base station. The main source of the intermodulation was the transmitter antenna of the analog AMPS system. Thus, the specification of the antenna in the AMPS system should be less than -115 dBm in case of the duplex antenna.

In the fracture of materials, the art of fractography is well established. However there are few quantitative rules that related the morphology of the fracture surface to the properties of the material, particularly its resistance to fracture, or to the circumstances of the fracture, sudden and catastrophic, or gradual by fatigue, etc. Fractal geometry is used in order to these quantitative relation. Fracture surface is expressed by the fractal. The fractal dimension is related to the special feature of microstructure. And fracture profiles that are generated by midpoint displacement method are in aggrement with the measured profiles.

Pancreas is known for the unfavorable soil to the metastatic carcinoma, and pancreatic metastasis is achieved after systemic dissemination was developed. The primary tumors of metastatic pancreatic carcinoma are breast, lung, Iymphoma, malignant melanoma, leukemia, stomach. and colon. The breast carcinoma is the commonest tumor to metastasize to pancreas and both tumors are related to estrogen receptor for tumor growth. In the present case, tumor cells had small round nucleus and showed indian file infltrating pattern and lack of cohesion, which are seen in infiltrative breast carcinoma. The patient was underwent radical mastectomy due to infiltrative ductal carcinoma three years ago. And also the tumor cells showed nuclear reactivity to immunostaining for estrogen receptor In combination of the histopathologic. immunohistochemical, and her past history, we concluded that breast carcinoma was metastasized to pancreas, and we report a case of metastatic pancreatic carcinoma from breast with review of literatures.
자궁 경부에서 발생한 상피내 암종과 침윤성 암종의 간질 변화에 관한 병리조직학적 연구

Connective tissue seems to be involved in malignancy by lytic processes as a crucial element in invasive growth. This looks relatively simple, but data have emerged that the stroma is not just a passive but rather an active participant. Recent advances in the borderland between cancer and connective tissue research have increasingly made it clear that the relationship between malignant tissue and its stroma is a very intricate one. The present study was performed in order to investigate the variety of stromal reactivity and alterations of basement membrane accompanying malignant growth and the distribution of Langerhans cells and T and B lymphocytes in cervical epithelium affected by intaepithelial neoplasia and invasive cervical carcinoma. The subjects in this were 14 cervicitis, 42 cervical intraepithelial neoplasia, 14 microinvasive cervical carcinoma and 14 invasive cervical carcinomas. A total of 84 formalin-fixed and paraffin-embedded specimens of normal, inflamed and neoplastic uterine cervix have been studied in order to correlate the epithelial changes with the expression of α-smooth muscle actin, S-100 protein, α_1-antichymotrypsin, lysozyme, LCA, CD20, UCHL1, OPD4, CD1, CD4, CD8, CD68 and typeⅣ collagen in stroma. The results of immunohistochemical and electron microscopical examinations yield virtually identical findings 1) The number of α-smooth muscle actin positive cells and the intensity of stain were related to the increasing grading of cervical intraepithelial neoplasia and invasive cervical carcinoma. 2) Normal cervix and cervical intraepithelial neoplasia grade Ⅰ and Ⅱ showed continuous basement membrane but invasive cervical carcinoma showed highly variable basement membrane deposition ranging from continuous to almost completely absent. 3) The cervical intraepithelial neoplasia Ⅲ and invasive cervical carcinoma showed an increase in spindle shaped Langerhans cells associated with increased numbers of stroma and intraepithelial lymphoid cells. The evaluation of collagen Ⅳ in basement membrane, S-100 protein and CD1 in Langerhans cells and α-smooth muscle actin in stromal cells of the uterine cervix may be an useful adjunct to diagnostic criteria of cervical intraepithrlial neoplasia and invasive cervical carcinoma, and may help understanding of the mechanisms of mesenchymal epithelial interactions during neoplasia.
Agonist-induced internalization of mGluR1&agr; is mediated by caveolin

<P>Agonist-induced internalization of metabotropic glutamate receptors (mGluRs) plays an important role in neuronal signaling. Although internalization of mGluRs has been reported to be mediated by clathrin-dependent pathway, studies describing clathrin-independent pathways are emerging. Here, we report that agonist-induced internalization of mGluR1 alpha is mediated by caveolin. We show that two caveolin-binding motifs of mGluR1 alpha interact with caveolin1/2. Using cell surface-immunoprecipitation and total internal reflection fluorescence imaging, we found that agonist-induced internalization of mGluR1 alpha is regulated by caveolin-binding motifs of the receptor in heterologous cells. Moreover, in the cerebellum, group I mGluR agonist dihydroxyphenylglycol increased the interaction of phosphorylated caveolin with mGluR1 alpha. This interaction was blocked by methyl-beta-cyclodextrin, known to disrupt caveolin/caveolae-dependent signaling by cholesterol depletion. Methyl-beta-cyclodextrin also blocked the agonist-induced internalization of mGluR1 alpha. Thus, these findings represent the evidence for agonist-induced internalization of mGluR1 alpha via caveolin and suggest that caveolin might play a role in synaptic metaplasticity by regulating internalization of mGluR1 alpha in the cerebellum.</P>
Giant Adrenal Myelolipoma : Report of a Case with Review of the Literature

Adrenal myelolipoma is an unusual, nonfunctiomng benign tumor composed of mature fat and hematopoietic tissue. Most cases of adrenal myelolipomas are clinically silent and found incidentally at autopsy or radiological examinations done for other purposes. Their size is usually less than 5 ㎝ and they are managed non-operatively. We report a case of a surgically treated, giant adrenal myelolipoma in a 60-year-old man who presented with abdominal discomfort and we present a review of the literature.
