소시오드라마가 특수교육대상 학생 어머니의 양육스트레스, 우울, 부모효능감에 미치는 효과

Purpose: This study aimed to evaluate the effects of sociodrama on mothers of adolescents receiving special education at school. Methods: The participants were 30 mothers of adolescents with autism and intellectual, physical, emotional, and behavioral disability (experimental group=8, control group=16, 4 excluded). Sociodrama was conducted over 6 weeks (6 sessions). Data were collected using a mixed method. A constructed questionnaire on parenting stress, depression, and parenting self-efficacy was distributed before and after the intervention. A focus group interview was conducted subsequently. Data were collected from May to June 2016 and analyzed using Wilcoxon-Mann-Whitney test and a content analysis. Results: The intervention group showed significant changes in parenting stress (Z=-2.34, p=.019), depression (Z=-.3.46 p=.001), and parenting self-efficacy (Z=-2.82, p=.029) compared with the control group. Results of the qualitative analysis exhibited two themes, namely "changes" and "healing and challenges," which were divided into 4 categories and 9 sub-categories. Conclusion: Sociodrama was effective in reducing the level of parenting stress and depression, and increased the level of parenting self-efficacy in participants. Sociodrama can be recommended as an intervention program for parents raising adolescents receiving special education.
HIV/AIDS 상담간호사를 위한 교육 프로그램의 개발과 적용

Purpose: This aim of the present study was to assess a newly developed education program for HIV/AIDS counseling nurses. Methods: An education program was developed based on literature reviews, previous project analysis, focus group interview and expert meetings. The program comprised of 3 levels: basic, advanced, and intensive, which included 80, 70, and 60 hours of education, respectively. From May to December in 2012, 17 counseling nurses completed the program and we evaluated their learning achievements, attitudes towards AIDS, confidence in consultation, empathic ability, and training sessions. We also measured the nurses' satisfaction with the program before and after completion. Results: After completing a monthly education program lasting 12-15 hours, the nurses' mean learning achievement was 88.5%, 88.3% and 91.4% out of the basic, advanced, and intensive levels, respectively. Although the nurses' attitudes towards AIDS did not change, their confidence and empathic abilities increased following the basic and intensive components of the programs. Satisfaction with the educational sessions and program operation was 4.23 out of 5.0. Conclusion: This newly developed education program for HIV/AIDS counseling nurses promoted learning achievements as well as, confidence and empathic ability in consultation. HIV/AIDS counseling nurses should receive continuous education opportunities to enhance their potential.

A current study was conducted to provide the basic data for helping to understand male AIDS patients and their adaptation to the society by analyzing experiences during the processes from the period of first diagnosis to the period of social adaptation. Therefore, in-death interviews were carried out in the form of open and semi-structured questionnaires to 10 male AIDS patients who were maintaining healthy social activities. The questionnaires include: “How did you accept the disease?” and “What was your motivation for social adaptation?”, and “What factors helped you to adapt to the society?” Based on the Colaizzi's phenomenological analysis method, meaningful statements extracted from the original data were classified as subjects and subject groups. The results were composed of 25 subjects, 10 subject groups, and 4 categories of chaos, barriers of conflict, returning to the life and accompanied life. The patients diagnosed with AIDS have been experienced in changes of relationships and financial difficulties as the barriers of conflict. However, they started to communicate with the society and have the social adaptation once they were provided with some help and counseling from other people. Consequently, a series of experiences played a significant role as turning points and driving forces in their lives, and thus they had an accompanied life as one of the society members. We suggest a further study on female AIDS patients to compare and contrast with the results from the current study, and a development of counseling manual for helping the psychological stability and social adaptation for those who suffer from the early-stage diagnosis of AIDS based on sex differences.

Purpose: This study was conducted to identify the factors affecting burnout of caregivers in geriatric hospitals. Methods: Data were collected from 266 formal caregivers working at Korean geriatric hospitals using self-report questionnaires between May 16 and June 30, 2016. The measured variables were burnout, emotional labor, job stress, job satisfaction, and self-efficacy experienced by caregivers. T-tests, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficients, and multiple regression were employed for data analysis. Results: The results indicated that emotional labor and job stress significantly influenced burnout of caregivers in geriatric hospitals; the explanatory power of the model was 27.3%. Conclusion: Based on the study results, we suggest further investigation of factors influencing burnout, and the development of strategies to prevent burnout by reducing emotional labor and job stress experienced by caregivers.
