Synthesis of o-Xylene-Organosilicon Hybrid Polymer and Its Optical Properties

We present synthesis of a new kind of organic-inorganic hybrid polymer, poly xylene-hexamethyltrisiloxane hybrid (PXS) by a new synthetic way from o-xylene and 1,1,3,3,5,5-hexamethyltrisiloxane. The merged molecular structure of the two monomeric components for the PXS polymer was confirmed by 13C- and 1HNMR, and FT-IR. Its optical absorption and emission properties were investigated by UV-vis absorption and photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopy. The PXS exhibits absorption at 265 nm which is the same with the oxylene but tailing up to nearly 400 nm, which is maybe related the polymeric structure of the PXS. For the PL investigation, the PXS shows red-shift of the peak from 288 nm (o-xylene) to 372 nm in the case of excitation at 265 nm, at which both PXS and o-xylene have sufficiently high absorption for excitation. When 325-nm laser is used for excitation, the PXS shows a broader peak at 395 nm compared to the excitation at 265 nm and the o-xylene shows no luminescence probably due to the lack of absorption at 325 nm.

This study was carried out to runoff characteristics in an upland livestock manure compost. Irrigation, runoff and water quality data in the upland were analyzed periodically from May to November in 2011. The observed amount of rainfall, irrigation, runoff for the experimental upland during the investigation period were 1,299.7 mm, 32.0 mm, and 340.7 mm, respectively. The concentrations of T-N in compost and non-compost upland during study period were ranged from 2.09 mg/L to 6.66 mg/L and from 1.99 mg/L to 6.01 mg/L, respectively. which was generally higher than the quality standard of agricultural water (1.0 mg/L). The concentrations of T-P in compost and non-compost upland during study period were ranged from 0.069 mg/L to 0.525 mg/L and from 0.018 mg/L to 0.152 mg/L, respectively. The runoff pollutants loadings of T-N and T-P in compost upland were 10.05 kg/ha and 0.56 kg/ha, respectively. The runoff pollutants loadings of T-N and T-P in non-compost upland were 9.09 kg/ha and 0.26 kg/ha, respectively. The runoff pollutants loadings in T-N and T-P from this study were much lower values than the pollutant loadings of T-N and T-P from the upland published by the others studies. Runoff pollution loadings due to the upland field in order to identify the characteristics of various crops, farming methods and a variety of targets taking into account regional characteristics by conducting continuous monitoring runoff load estimate will be required.

This paper presents performance evaluation of a new high speed inter-processor communication(HIPC) network for large capacity and high performance digitral switching system. The HIPC structure implements the fast reservation and concurrent arbitration technique (modified round-robin arbitration). The performance evaluation of HIPC was performed by not only computer simulation but also numerical approximation method which was derived for a single server multi-queue system with nonexhaustive cyclic service. The approximation results are almost same with that of computer simulation. The TDX-10 basic callscenario was applied to the HIPC netowrk and analyzed. these results were compared with TDX-10 IPC and shows that the difference of th emean waiting time in the TX buffer of NTP node increases sharply according to the increase of the message arrival rate.

The study was carried out to investigate the dimension of irrigation canal, and measure the water flow of those diverted from Kimje main canal in Dongjin irrigation area. The rating curves indicating the relationships between water level and discharge of the lateral canals were induced using the measured data with high regression coefficients of 0.957~0.999 at inlet points and 0.932~0.998 at end points, respectively. And Manning's roughness coefficients were estimated as the ranged from 0.015 to 0.074 at inlet points and 0.056 to 0.089 at end points with rectangular type of concrete open irrigation canals, the Manning's roughness coefficients of the end points were less than those values of the end points, which may be considered as the deposition of the bottom sediments.

Objective: This retrospective study of 13 patients who underwent surgical treatment for symptomatic lumbar synovial cyst was performed to evaluate the clinical findings and pathogenesis of lumbar synovial cyst. Methods: The clinical characteristics of the patients were investigated by reviewing the hospital records, preoperative radiological images, and operation records. By observing preoperative CT scans Facet degeneration grade at the lesion and opposite side of pathologic level and adjacent levels were assessed and compared. Results: There were 5 males and 8 females (average 65.8 year-old). Six patients presented with low back pain and leg pain, and 7 patients presented only leg pain. Most common pathologic level was L4-5. All patients nderwent the cyst resection with/without decompressive laminectomy or discectomy. The additional instrumentation was not performed in all patients. No complications or recurrence was observed during average 34.5 months follow-up. There was no significant difference of facet degeneration grade between the lesion side of pathologic level and opposite side of same level or lower adjacent level. Conclusion: In the present study, all patients showed clinical improvement by the simple surgery without any instrumentation. No significant correlation between the occurrence of synovial cyst and the degeneration grade of facet joint was revealed. 소형 밀리미터파 레이더를 위한 실시간 데이터 전처리 방법 연구

최근 소형 레이더는 한번의 타격으로 표적의 시스템을 무능화시키기 위해 높은 거리해상도를 갖는 소형 밀리미터파 레이더 개발을 요구한다. 높은 거리해상도를 갖는 소형 밀리미터파 레이더가 표적을 획득하고, 추적하기 위해서는대용량의 데이터를 실시간으로 처리해야한다. 본 논문에서는 소형 밀리미터파 레이더에서 요구하는 대용량의 데이터를실시간으로 처리하기 위한 실시간 데이터 전처리 방법을 정리하였다. 또한 실시간 데이터 전처리 방법으로 제시한 디지털 IF(Intermediate Frequency) 수신기, Window처리, DFT(Discrete Fourier Transform)를 FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array)를 활용하여 구현하였다. 마지막으로 구현한 실시간 데이터 전처리 모듈은 소형 밀리미터파 레이더를 위한 신호처리기에 적용하여 실시간 데이터 전처리 기능과 관련된 성능시험으로 검증하였다. Recently, small radar require the development of small millimeter wave radar with high distance resolution to disable the target’s system with a single strike. Small millimeter wave radar with high distance resolution need to process large amounts of data in real time to acquire and track target. In this paper, we summarized the real-time data preprocessing method to process the large amount of data required for small millimeter wave radar. In addition, the digital IF(Intermediate Frequency) receiver, Window processing, and, DFT(Discrete Fourier Transform) functions presented by real-time data preprocessing are implemented using FPGA(Field Programmable Gate Array). Finally the implemented real-time data preprocessing module was applied to the signal processor for small millimeter wave radar and verified by performance test related to the real-time preprocessing function.
