인진(茵蔯), 울김(鬱金), 지실(枳實) 추출물(ACA)이 HepG2 세포에서 나타나는 이상지질혈증 관련 인자 발현 및 항산화에 미치는 영향

Objective: To investigate the effect of Artemisiae Iwayomogii Herba, Curcumae Radix, and Aurantii Fructus Immaturus complex extract (ACA) on dyslipidemia-related factor expression and anti-oxidation in HepG2 cells. Method: After treatment with ACA in the HepG2 cells, DPPH, ABTS radical scavenging activity, ROS production, and glutathione (GSH) production were measured. The free fatty acid, lipid peroxidation (MDA), ACAT1, and HMG-CoA reductase mRNA expression were measured in the HepG2 cells after treatment with ACA. Results: 1. DPPH, ABTS radical scavenging activity increased in an ACA concentration-dependent manner. 2. ACA significantly decreased ROS production in comparison to the control group. 3. ACA significantly increased glutathione production. 4. ACA significantly decreased free fatty acid and lipid peroxidation (MDA) in the HepG2 cells. 5. ACA decreased the mRNA expression of ACAT1 and HMG-CoA reductase. Conclusion: These results suggest that Artemisiae Iwayomogii Herba, Curcumae Radix, and Aurantii Fructus Immaturus complex extract (ACA) inhibits dyslipidemia-related factor expression and that it is effective in anti-oxidation. A future in vivo experiment with ACA is needed to investigate the effect on anti-dyslipidemia. It is expected that ACA is effective in anti-dyslipidemia and applied to cardiovascular disease, ischemic heart disease, stroke, etc.

갑상선암 환자가 증가함에 따라 고용량 방사성옥소 치료환자 또한 적체되고 있는 추세이다. 따라서 현재 시설의 수용 능력을 고려하여 치료할 수 있는 병실의 최대치를 산출해 보고자 한다. 본원에 입원하는 고용량 방사성옥소 치료 환자의 방출 오 폐수량과 오 폐수의 방사능을 측정하고 고용량 방사성옥소 치료 병실에서 대기 중으로 방출하는 공기 중의 방사능 농도를 측정한다. 측정된 오 폐수의 방사능과 방출하는 공기 중의 농도가 교육과학기술부에서 고시하는 기준인 배수 중의 배출 관리 기준 30 Bq/L 및 배기 중의 배출관리기준 3 $Bq/m^3$을 만족할 때 치료 가능한 병실의 최대치를 계산한다. 가장 보수적인 수치로 계산하여 환자 1명을 치료할 경우 배출되는 오 폐수의 평균 방사능의 농도는 8 MBq/L였으며, 정화조에서 117일의 감쇠 시간을 거친 후의 평균 방사능의 농도는 29.5 Bq/L였다. 환자 2명을 치료할 경우 배출되는 오 폐수의 평균 방사능의 농도는 16 MBq/L였으며, 정화조에서 70일의 감쇠 시간을 거친 후의 평균 방사능의 농도는 29.7 Bq/L였다. 또한 같은 조건일 경우 치료 병실에서 RI 배기 filter를 통과하여 방출된 공기 중의 방사능 농도는 0.38 $Bq/m^3$였다. 수용 능력을 고려하여 치료할 수 있는 고용량 방사성옥소 치료 병실의 최대치를 산출하여 현재의 시설에 적용하고 병실 내 구조개선 등으로 2인실로 운영한다면 적체되어 있는 환자의 치료 대기 기간을 단축할 수 있으리라 사료된다. Purpose: According to increment of thyroid cancer recently, patients of high dose radioiodine therapy were accumulated. Taking into consideration the acceptance capability in the current facility, this study is to calculate the maximum value of high dose radioiodine therapy in patients for treatment. Materials and Methods: The amount and radioactivity of waste water discharged from high dose radioiodine therapy in patients admitted at present hospital as well as the radiation density of the air released into the atmosphere from the high dose radioiodine therapy ward were measured. When the calculated waste water's radiation and its density in the released air satisfies the standard (management standard for discharge into water supply 30 Bq/L, management standard for release into air 3 $Bq/m^3$) set by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, the maximum value of treatable high dose radioiodine therapy in patients was calculated. Results: When we calculated in a conservative view, the average density of radiation of waste water discharged from treating high dose radioiodine therapy one patient was 8 MBq/L and after 117 days of diminution in the water-purifier tank, it was 29.5 Bq/L. Also, the average density of radiation of waste water discharged from treating high dose radioiodine therapy two patients was 16 MBq/L and after 70 days of diminution in the water-purifier tank, it was 29.7 Bq/L. Under the same conditions, the density of radiation released into air through RI Ventilation Filter from the radioiodine therapy ward was 0.38 $Bq/m^3$. Conclusion: The maximum value of high dose radioiodine therapy in patients that can be treated within the acceptance capability was calculated and applied to the current facility, and if double rooms are managed by improving the ward structure, it would be possible to reduce the accumulated treatment waiting period for radioiodine therapy in patients.
잉어의 생체 내 대사체 변화에 미치는 플록세틴 영향규명 연구

The purpose of this study was to clarify the effect of fluoxetine, one of the most frequently prescribed antidepressant drugs, on Cyprinus carpio by comparing the variations in its metabolite concentrations after exposure to the drug, using NMR and LC/Orbitrap MS. Three experimental reactors were employed, and the total experimental period was 14 days. Cyprinus carpio were acclimatized for 3 months in the laboratory and then subjected to the study. One reactor was used as a 14-day control, and the others were exposed to fluoxetine at 10 ng/L and 10 μg/L for 7 days and depurate for 7 days. The variations in metabolite concentration after exposure were analyzed by NMR and LC/Orbitrap MS. Before exposure, the concentration trends of fluoxetine and its main metabolite, norfluoxetine were almost the same in blood and liver samples of Cyprinus carpio. However, after the depuration period, the concentrations of norfluoxetine in the liver and blood samples were higher than those of fluoxetine. The concentration of the remaining norfluoxetine in the liver sample was higher than that in the blood sample. This means that the liver mainly metabolized pharmaceuticals. The main change in the concentrations of metabolites of Cyprinus carpio was shown in amino acids such as leucine, isoleucine, glutamate, tyrosine, and valine; organic acids such as acetate and formate; creatine; and glucose. Although after the depuration period, the control, and 10 ng/L and 10 μg/L exposure groups had overlapping results, the exposure and control groups could be classified clearly after 14 days. These results are expected to contribute to identifying the effects of environmental pollutants by tracing metabolite changes and building a chemical metabolite database.

Purpose: This study aimed to prove whether wearing full-corrected new glasses had a positive effect on postural stability. Methods: Thirty-six young subjects (21 males and 15 females) with an average age of 22.39±2.30 years participated in this study. After measuring the correcting powers of refractive errors of subjects through subjective refraction, full-corrected new glasses were provided to 19 myopic and 17 hyperopic patients. Postural evaluation was carried out using the TETRAX system, we compared and analyzed the general stability (ST) index before and after wearing full corrected glasses and their time-dependent changes. Results: When full-corrected new glasses were worn, ST indices were significantly decreased compared to those in the no glasses state in all 36 subjects (p<0.05). In the myopic group, ST indices were significantly decreased compared to those in the no glasses state when full-corrected new glasses were worn (p<0.05). On the other hand, in the hyperopic group, there was no statistically significant difference after wearing new glasses (p>0.05). Time-dependent change in ST index significantly decreased immediately after wearing full-corrected new glasses (p<0.01), and decreased more remarkably after 6 h of wearing (p<0.01). Conclusions: Through this study, it was demonstrated that the appropriate visual information by the actual optical correction has a positive effect in increasing the posture control ability.

Langerhans cell histiocytosis (LCH) is reported less frequently in adults than in children. The most common site of involvement in adults is the bone, accounting for 30-50% of cases. The gastrointestinal tract is very rare, accounting for approximately 2%. We present a case of Langerhans cell histiocytosis that simultaneously invaded multiple organs, including the stomach and colon, in an adult. A 37-year-old woman with no underlying disease complained of chest discomfort and a palpable right submandibular mass. A right Level II neck mass and mediastinal LN enlargement were confirmed on the pharynx and chest CT scan. Multiple subepithelial masses with central ulceration and erosion were observed in the corpus and fundus on the esophagogastroduodenoscopy and in the right colon on the colonoscopy. The histopathology findings were the same in each tissue biopsied from the stomach, colon, and right neck lymph nodes. Langerhans cells with classical reniform nuclei and prominent eosinophils invaded the normal glands, and S100 and CD1a were positive in the immunohistochemical stain. Gastrointestinal involvement of LCH in adults is rare, asymptomatic,and can involve multiple digestive organs simultaneously, so upper endoscopy and colonoscopy should be considered for a diagnosis. Today is the era of “overflowing images”. With the development of digital and media environments, common people are exposed to excessive images defenselessly, which phenomenon is also found in the field of advertising. It raises another reason to be more discreet with differentiating advertising messages to attract consumers that are accustomed to various advertising images. This study thus set out to investigate the meanings and characteristics of surrealistic advertisements presented to the public of digital age already accustomed to images as a characteristic case of contemporary advertising images. The advancement of digital media has made fantastic images more easily accessible. The current phenomenon of expanding surrealistic advertising images reflects the “needs” of the public beyond the influences of media, which deserves some attention. The uses of surrealistic image-based advertising are not restricted to the genre of “fashion” but are broad and extensive. Trying to investigate the phenomenon, the study analyzed the actual cases of depaysement expressed in various ways in advertising pictures with a focus on “depaysement,” one of the representative techniques of “surrealistic art.” It also analyzed works of “Tim Walker,” a British photographer oriented toward fantastic visuals, and examined the diverse extensive attributes of fashionable advertising images such as the collaboration of “Fashion & Art” campaign by Hyundai Department Store.
