Background/Aims: Due to the recent increase in elderly population, laparoscopic surgery is more frequently performed in the elderly. This study aimed to compare the short-term outcomes of laparoscopic colorectal cancer surgery between the very elderly group (VEG), categorized as those with age over 80 years and the elderly group (EG), categorized as those with age 65 to 79 years. Methods: We retrospectively compared 48 very elderly patients with 96 elderly patients (1:2 matched) who underwent laparoscopic resection for colorectal cancers at our institution between March 2010 and December 2014. The clinicopathologic parameters, surgical characteristics and short term outcomes were compared. Results: There was no statistically significant difference in clinicopathologic characteristics between VEG and EG. Postoperative pain score (7 points vs. 6 points, p=0.264), time to first flatus (3 days vs. 3 days, p=0.335), hospital stay (15 days vs. 16.5 days, p=0.361), complication rates (47.9% vs. 26.0%, p=0.147) and major complication rate (25% vs. 20.8%, p=0.681) were not statistically different between the two groups. Before surgery, VEG had higher rate of neurologic underlying disease, such as dementia or cerebrovascular disease, than EG (25.0% vs. 7.3%, p=0.007). Conclusions: There was no significant difference in the clinicopathologic characteristics, short-term outcomes, and complication rates for laparoscopic colorectal resection between VEG and EG, except delirium. Age over 80 years may be relevant for the application of laparoscopic colorectal cancer resection. (Korean J Gastroenterol 2017;69:291-297)

White light emitting diode (LED) determined the most appropriate color temperature in reading lighting evaluated fatigue degree of eye according to color temperature. The eye fatigue degrees are determined by brightness and color temperature. Therefore, we measured the results of eyes test according to the change of color temperature and brightness. Experiments except for astigmatic corrected visual acuity of 0.8 more and age 20 to 25 years old, male and female college students was conducted in 100 patients. And constant illumination conditions, visual acuity was measured by varying the color temperature. The optometry at 10 minutes in the darkroom adapted eye. And then the temperature of $25{\pm}3$ degrees, the humidity was carried out at $50{\pm}5%$. As a result of typical color temperature of white light (5,600 K) has identification of the readability.

Growth mechanism of GS-MBE(Gas source-Molecular Beam Epitaxy) has been investigated. We observed that the growth rate of GaN films is changing from 520 nm/h to 440 nm/h by the variation of V/III ratio under nitrogen-rich growth condition. It was explained that the amount of hydrogen on the growth front varies by the ammonia flow, and gallium hydrides are generated on the surface by a reaction of hydrogen and gallium, resultantly the amount of gallium supplying is changing along with the $NH_3$ flow. Reflection high energy electron diffraction (RHEED) observation was used to confirm the N-rich condition. The crystal quality of GaN was estimated by photoluminescence (PL) and X-ray diffraction (XRD).

본 연구는 화강토에 벤토나이트와 석분을 혼합하여 차수구조물을 조성할 때 구조물의 기능 및 안정을 확보할 수 있는 혼합토를 개발하고자 일련의 시험을 통하여 혼합비에 따른 혼합토의 다짐특성, 투수특성, CBR 및 압축강도특성을 밝혀 혼합토가 차수 재료로서 활용가능성을 검토하였다. 석분 함유량이 증가하면 최대건조밀도는 감소하고 최적함수비는 미소하게 증가하는 경향을 보이며 일축압축강도와 CBR값은 감소하고 점착력, 내부마찰각 그리고 팽창비는 증가하였다. 또한 벤토나이트 함유량이 증가하면 최대건조밀도는 감소하고 최적함수비, 일축압축강도, 점착력, 내부마찰각, CBR값과 팽창비 등은 증가하였다. 그리고 차수재로서의 투수계수 규정을 충족하는 혼합토의 혼합비는 벤토나이트를 10%이상 함유하고 석분함유율이 10% 이내 임을 알 수 있었다. This study is conducted to investigate the possibility of the utilization of the mixed soil formed by mixing stone sludge, bentonite, and residual soil as a soil sealant sustaining both stability and capacity in the barrier system. A series of tests were performed on the mixed soils to evaluate basic properties such as compaction, compressive strength, permeability and CBR of these materials. The results indicates that as the stone sludge content increases, the optimum moisture content increases a little, but the maximum dry density decreases. The compressive strength and CBR decrease, and the cohesion, internal friction angle and expansion ratio increase. When the bentonite content increases, the maximum dry density decreases, and the optimum moisture content, compressive strength and cohesion, internal friction angle, CBR and expansion ratio increase. Mixing ratio of the mixed soil contained with the stone dust more than 10% and the bentonite less than 10% satisfies the standard of the permeability coefficient as the soil sealant.
