E. coli B was treated with colistin and kanamycin and the influence of these antibiotics on the absorption of $T_3$ phage was studied using the plaque counting method and the electron microscope. E. coli B treated with colistin was sharply inhibited on phage absorption and cell walls were severely damaged showing some spiny appearance around the walls. No influence of kanamycin was noted on phage absorption. Bacterial cells treated with kanamycin showed wave form in the structure of walls and a profound change was noted in the cytoplasm where it was concentrated along the periphery of the inner wall leaving the center of the cell to appear almost empty.

A study of eating behavior was conducted among 274 children of Nan Hyang elementary school, located in low income area of Seoul, where a school lunch program is not operated. During weekdays, 19.6% of children ate breakfast and 18.4% ate supper alone or with their siblings. The school provided boxed lunches for 10.5% of the children with governmental funds, who were chosen by the school based on their household income. But the percentage of the children skipping breakfast was 14.6%, lunch 10.3% and supper 8.0%. The results of nutritional analysis of the children who had three meals a day and those of children skipped one of the regular meals were compared. The group who had three meals consumed more nutrients except vitamin C than the group skipped meal (p<0.01). Most common meal pattern was consisted of cooked rice, Kimchi and side dishes. When the children didn't have afternoon classes, 10.0% of the children ate Ramen only at home without any side dishes. Among the protein sources, the beans and bean products were the most common items. When we studied the three different lunches such as A) the boxed lunches provided by school, B) the boxed lunches from home and C) the lunches ate at home, the A) lunches provided the most common items. When we studied the three different lunches such as A) the boxed lunches provided by school, B) the boxed lunches from home and C) the lunches ate at home, the A) lunches provided the milk products, fruits, ice cakes${\cdots}$etc. Their favorite foods were fruits, yoghurt, Chinese black noodle, and sweet potatoes whereas being not prefered foods, were aromatic vegetables. It seemed that the increasing rate of working mothers and the overflooding of instant foods have caused to neglect children's meal management. To solve these problems, nutrition education and extend of school lunch programs should be emphasized.

The heavy metal contents of freshwater fishes in the Keum river were investigated during from March 1985 to February 1986. The contents of cadmium, chromium, copper, manganese and zinc in muscle and bone of several species of fishes were analysed. The heavy metal contents of the freshwater fishes collected at Dae-Dong Ri and Bu-yeo were comparatively higher than those of the Dae-Chong lake. The heavy metal contents in fish muscles were analysed as Cd 0.004∼0.028㎍/g, Pb 0.157∼0.937㎍/g, Cr 0.039∼0.235㎍/g, Cu 0.278∼1.472㎍/g, Mn 0.252∼1.189㎍/g and Zn 3.199∼12.772㎍/g, and in fish bones as Cd 0.250∼0.158㎍/g, Pb 1.173∼5.050㎍/g, Cr 0.769∼2.711㎍/g, Cu 1.275∼2.429㎍/g, Mn 2.917∼21.032㎍/g and Zn 29.052∼45.348㎍/g. The heavy metal contents in bones were significantly higher than those of muscles in almost all kinds of fishes. And accumulation of heavy metals in tissues of fishes tended to increase with the body weight .The heavy metal contents of fishes in the Keum river were lower than the limit contents of the heavy metis in food permitted by FAO.

본 논문은 IEEE std 400에서 규정하고 있는 케이블 시험방법 중 Type 1, 파괴시험법(DC, 상용주파 내전압, 그리고 VLF내전압 시험)은 절연물 손상을 발생시키므로 예방진단에 사용될 수 없고 그렇지 않은 Type 2. 비파괴시험법에 대해 주로 소개하였다. 이와 추가하여 한전에서 사용 중인 IRC(Isothermal Relaxation Current) 측정법에 대해 간략하게 소개하고 더불어 IEEE Std 400에서 제시하고 있는 Tanδ측정법의 문제점 및 개정방향을 소개하고, 마지막으로 IEEE Std 400.3의 PD신호의 분석을 통해 결함위치와 열화정도를 평가 진단하는 기법에 대해 서술하고저 한다.
