The purpose of this article is to give an overview of the organizational communication in the medical center. This overview is based on the results of the individual studies conducted from 2012 to 2015 within a project about organizational communication in the medical center. Firstly we will summarize the characteristics of the respective communications performed between physicians, nurses, administrative staffs and between physicians and nurses. From those characteristics we will generalize the four typical negative aspects of the organizational communication in the medical center: authoritative, lack of empathy, an air of indifference to the communication, respectless. And then we introduce the causes of the negative aspects and their influences on the staffs of the medical center. Lastly we discuss how to improve the organizational communication in the medical center.

This study aims to present communication maxims and specific strategies for interviewers to use in order to effectively communicate during job interviews. To date, studies on job interviews have focused on the interviewees´ experiences, with little attention paid to the interviewers´ communication skills. Data was collected through narrative interviews and analyzed using macro structures and the illocution hierarchy theory, a text-linguistic methodology, in order to ensure objectivity and validity. The results of this study produced six communication maxims: identifying information, cooperation, tact, extracting information, respecting personalities, and expression. Nineteen lower-level strategies were also produced. Finally, this study concludes with two recommendations. The first recommendation is to recognize the purpose of the job interview as not only as an applicant selection tool, but also as a communication space for the interviewer and the interviewee. The second recommendation is that the role of the interviewer should transition to one of a presenter who elicits information from applicants, rather than that of an investigator who scrutinizes details. These recommendations will facilitate a shift from interviewer-centered job interviews to applicant-centered job interviews.
병원 조직 내 의사 간 커뮤니케이션 실태와 개선 방안 -위계적 의사소통 체험을 중심으로-

This paper explores acknowledgement of experiences in doctor to doctor communication and suggests some resolution for their communication problems. This study is based on narrative interviews with 8 doctors working and text analysis of transcribed interview texts. With the results, it is found that two main categories in doctor communication: 1. Hierarchical organization communication (a distinct feature in senior to junior doctor communication); 2. an improvement plan to address communication problems. It is revealed that interpersonal conversation is more important than task oriented conversation in inter doctor organizational communication, and the lower a doctor’s position, the more important the interpersonal conversation.
온라인 청원문의 텍스트 구조와 의사소통적 특성 -청와대 국민청원문을 대상으로-

This study aims to analyze the structure and communicative characteristics of online petitions, which represent a significant category of public texts in the digital space. Focusing on the Blue House National Petition, the most prominent example among online petitions, the study examines its communicative features and textual structure. Utilizing the illocutionary hierarchical theory, the analysis of highly endorsed national petitions reveals that they consist of five functional phases: ‘case explanation phase’, ‘problem raising phase’, ‘action urging phase’, ‘demand negotiation phase’, and ‘appeal phase’. These phases collectively serve the dual communicative purposes of eliciting ‘consent/sympathy’ and achieving ‘acceptance’. The study highlights the specific sub-phases within each functional phase, demonstrating the strategic verbal efforts made by text producers to convey their intentions and ideas effectively in the online space.

This study constitutes the foundation and preparation steps for communication training programmes for the members of medical institutions. It aims for providing of the procedures and methods for reconstructing norms for the effective communication and the hereby derived norms in the organizations. For this purpose, chapter 2 introduces methods and procedures for the derivation of communicative norms. In chapter 3, which encompasses the final result of the research, we discuss commnunicative norms with instances that the members of the organizations have to keep in mind when communicating.

Purpose: This study is an overview of the experiences of nurses who have participated in a communication education program which was designed to develop proper change-of-shift dialogues. The goal of this program was to improve the communication competencies of outgoing and incoming nurses during handover and takeover of their shifts. Methods: The materials used in this study to analyze the experiences qualitatively were transcripts from narrative interviews with seven nurse participants. The education program consisted of two rounds of change-of-shift simulations by pairs of nurses, planning of a forthcoming change-of-shift, three lectures on ideal dialogue patterns, and time for video feedback. Afterwards the participants´ experiences of the program were evaluated generally, highlighting the positive and the negative aspects, and how this educational experiences might affect their future change-of-shift activities. Results: High practicability, originality, professionalism, and effectiveness were some of the positive assessments made by the nurse participants. In addition, they pointed out that the sample video in which two professors performed an ideal handover and takeover and the paper kardex were both quite unrealistic. The location of the change-of-shift simulation was also unfamiliar so it needed to be supplemented. However, most of the nurses took for granted that such a communication education program is necessary and that it will provide a substantial help in their future job performance. In this regard they recommended the program to all related hospitals and nursing schools. Conclusion: The results of this study could be applied to other forms of communication education programs regardless of the specific area where communication takes place.
Epilepsy와 Perinatal Asphyxia 환아에서 Brain SPECT 대한 연구

We made a clinical study on 28 cases of seizure and perinatal asphyxia who had been admitted to the pediatric department of Soon Chun Hyang University Hospital from April 1992 to July 1993. The results were obtained as follows. 1. The sex incidence revealed male predominance with the ratio 57% : 43%. 2. Among 28 cases, 23(82%) cases were (seizure : 9/12 cases, asphyxia : 14/16 cases) decreased cerebral perfusion by brain SPECT. 3. Among 20 cases, 10(50%) cases(seizure : 3/12 cases, asphyxia : 7/8 cases) were radiolucent by brain CT. 4. Among 10 cases as normal brain CT or MRI, 9 cases(seizure : 8 cases, asphyxia : 1 case)were decreased cerebral perfusion by brain SPECT. 5. SPECT is better showed abnormalities in the regional cerebral perfusion than CT or MRI, especially seizure disorder.
