Background:Arsenics have been used for various medical purposes. These arsenics can cause different kinds of cutaneous and internal malignancies. The arsenic-induced malignancies can be fatal or cause severe morbidity. Objective:For early detection and prevention of the arsenic-induced malignancies, the authors analyzed the clinical characteristics of arsenic-induced skin diseases. Methods:Medical records of 15 patients(10 males, 5 females) with arsenical keratosis(AK) during a period from September 1994 to October 1999 were reviewed. Interview, physical examinations, skin biopsy, and laboratory tests were performed. Results:14 patients used Korean proprietary pills(KPP, Hwan-Yak), which were suspected to contain certain amount of arsenics, as a drug for treatment of certain diseases such as vitiligo(4 patients, 26.7%), laceration, syphilis, etc. The other formulation of medication was Salvarsan injection. Age at KPP or Salvarasan medication was from seven to thirty-five years old. Duration of medication was from one month to four years. Bowen's disease(BD), squamous cell carcinoma(SCC) and basal cell carcinoma(BCC) were detected in ten(66.7%), three(20%) and one(6.7%) patients, respectively. One(6.7%) patient had lung cancer. Sites of predilection were palmoplantar area(100%) for AK, trunk(60%) for BD and lower extremities(45%) for SCC and BCC. Conclusion:Chronic exposure to arsenic can induce the cutaneous and systemic malignancies. To prevent these malignancies, strict managements and supervising programs on certain arsenic-containing drugs(probably KPPs) are required, and regular cutaneous and systemic examinations for the patients with AK should be performed. In this study, the torsional behavior of the composite bridges with corrugated steel web is developed. When torsion is applied on the concrete slab, based on equilibrium equations and compatibility conditions, as well as a constitutive law for softened concrete, the torsional behavior can be analyzed by using softened truss model theory. In this study, the program having the iteration procedure is made for the torsional design, and this program is verified by a test. Additionaly the equations for the torsional design were supposed.

뇌출혈의 원인은 뇌동맥이 고혈압의 높은 압력을 견디지 못하여 파열하기 때문에 일어나고, 뇌혈전의 원인은 동맥경화증이 중요한 원인이다. 따라서 뇌졸중의 중요 원인은 고혈압과 동맥경화라는 것을 알 수 있으며, 최선의 치료방법은 40대 이후에 정기적인 혈압측정 및 건강검사를 받아서 발견조기에 예방하는 것이 최선이다.
복부 파형강판을 갖는 복합교량의 비틀림 거동에 대한 비선형 해석 모델 개발

복부 파형강판을 갖는 복합교량은 기존 PSC 박스 거더의 콘크리트 복부판을 파형강판으로 대체함으로써 상부구조의 경량화를 유도하고 프리스트레싱 효율성을 향상시킬 수 있어 국외에서 널리 이용되고 있다. 하지만 이러한 장점에도 불구하고 복부 파형강판을 갖는 복합교량은 기존 연구가 거더의 전단과 휨 거동에 국한되어 있어 비틀림 거동에 대한 이해는 부족한 상황이다. 국내외의 연구자들에 의하여 복부 파형강판을 갖는 복합교량의 비선형 해석 방법이 개발되었으나, 이러한 연구는 콘크리트의 인정 강도를 무시하여 균열 모멘트 및 비틀림 강성과 같은 콘크리트 교량의 사용성에 영향을 미치는 요소들에 대한 이해가 부족한 실정이다. 본 논문에서는 콘크리트의 인장 거동을 고려한 복부 파형강판을 갖는 복합교량의 비선형 비틀림 거동 해석 방법에 대한 연구를 수행하였다. 제안된 이론을 적용하여 해석 프로그램을 제작하였으며, 실험 연구를 통하여 개발된 해석 방법의 타당성을 검증하였다. 마지막으로 변수 해석을 실시하여 콘크리트의 인장 강도가 비틀림 거동에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. Composite box-girder with corrugated steel webs has been widely used in civil engineering practice as an alternative of conventional pre-stressed concrete box-girder because the efficiency of pre-stressing can be increased and weight reduction of superstructure can be achieved by replacing concrete webs as a corrugated steel webs. However, most of previous researches were limited in shear and flexural behavior of such girder so that the torsional behaviors of composite box-girder with corrugated steel webs are not fully understood yet and it needs to be investigated. Some of previous researchers developed the nonlinear theory for torsional analysis of composite box-girder with corrugated steel webs. However, their theories were developed by ignoring the tensile behavior of concrete. Thus, there are certain limitations in analysis of serviceability such as cracking moment and torsional stiffness of the girder. This paper presents the analytical model for torsional behavior of composite box-girder with corrugated steel webs considering tensile behavior of concrete. Based on the proposed analytical model, nonlinear torsional analysis program of composite box-girder with corrugated steel webs was developed. Then, for verification of validation of the developed model, test for the girder was conducted and the results were compared with those of analytical model. Finally, parametric study was conducted and the effects of tensile behavior of concrete on the torsional behavior of the girder were discussed.
