        통계방법에 의한 하수처리장 운전분석

        Statistical analysis between sewage plant operating parameters and the effluent quality was performed. We extracted two factors from principal component analysis of operating parameters and effluent quality from each plant. The total variance of 84.7%, 79.2% was explained by the two factors at SB plant and SC plant, respectively. The factors were identified at SB plant in the following order 1) the oxidation of organic material by aeration basin microbe,2) biomass in aeration basin and at SC plant 1) the oxidation of organic material by aeration basin microbe, 2) thickening of acti-vated sludge. These results suggested that the control of microbial composition might be critical on the improvement of the effluent quality and plant operating efficiency because most of the factors were related with microbes.

        원생동물을 이용한 하수처리장의 수질 예측

        Pilot Plant에서 도시하수가 처리되는 경우와 전처리 된 분뉴가 하수에 섞여 처리되는 두가지 종류의 하수를 표준 활성슬러지 공법으로 처리하면서 매주 2회씩 시료채집하여 원생동물의 종류 및 개체수와 처리수질을 조사하였다. 우점원생동물은 두 경우 모두 섬모충류였으며, 섬모층류, 편모충류와 아메바의 분포비가 높았다. 처리수질과 원생동물의 상관분석에서는 도시하수의 경우 양의 상관관계가 높게 나타난 경우가 많으며, 전처리 된 분뇨가 섞여 유입되는 경우는 음의 상관관계를 나타내는 경우가 다소 많았다. 회귀분석 결과, Pilot Plant A의 경우는 BOD = 4.490 × 10 exp (-4) × Total + 5.772 × 10 exp (-3) × Amoeba + 1.892 (Adjusted R^2=0.995)이며, Pilot Plant B는 BOD = 6.731 × 10 exp (-2) × Bodo + 0.306 (Adjusted R^2=0.864)의 회귀식을 얻었다. 저수온에서는 원생동물수가 35%로 줄어들며 Aspidisca속이 가장 많았다. 그러므로 원생동물은 하수처리장 유출수의 수질을 예측하는 지표로서 이용이 가능하다고 사료된다. Genera and number of protozoa were investigated in the conventional activated sludge pilot plant used for the treatment of municipal sewage and pre-treated night soil-containing sewage. In both cases, the predominant protozoa was ciliates and among them, Vorticella was the most common. In the pilot plant where pre-treated night soil was mixed with municipal sewage, genera of free-swimming ciliates, flagellates and amoeba was higher than in those without night soil. Correlation analysis on the quality of effluent and protozoa indicates that municipal sewage has positive correlation with protozoa. However, in the pilot plant of sewage containing pre-treated night soil more samples show negative correlation. Followed equations were derived by the regression analysis of BOD in both the pilot plants. In case of pilot plant A of municipal sewage, the analysis of BOD showed 4.490 × 10 exp (-4) × Total + 5.772 × 10 exp (-3) × Amoeba + 1.892 (Adjusted R^2=0.995) and in case of pilot plant B of municipal and pre-treated night soil-containing sewage, the analysis of BOD was 6.731 × 10 exp (-2) × Bodo + 0.306 (Adjusted R^2=0.864). At low temperature, number of protozoa was decreased to 35% and among them, Aspidisca was the most common genus. Therefore, protozoa can be used as indicator of quality of the effluent in sewage treatment plants.

        대구지역 총 부유분진중 중금속

        This study was carried out to characterize the behavior and sources of particulate trace metal in Daegu city. TSP (Total Suspended Particulate matter) was collected by filters on High Volume Air Sampler from the four areal (reference, residential, commercial, industrial area). The moult were analyzed by AAS after preliminary treatment. The average centration trend of trace metals contained in TSP was shown as follows : Fe > Cu > Pb > Mn > Ni > Cr > Cd. The trace metals showed the highest concentration in the industrial area. This study showed the seasonal variation of trace metals. Fe and Mn showed high concentration in spring, whereas Cr, Ni, Cd and Pb showed high concentration in winter. Also this study showed the regional variation of trace metals. The order of the average concentration of trace metals was : industrial > commercial > residential > reference area. Using Mn as a reference element, the enrichment factor analysis were used for identifying the trace element contributors. The enrichment factors of Cr, Fe < 10 were considered to have a significant dust and soil source and termed nonenriched. Pb, Cd, Cu >>10 were enriched and had a significant fraction which was contributed by anthropogenic sources.

        하수처리장 운전조건의 통계분석

        In this study, we examined statistical analysis between sewage plant operations parameters and effluent quality. We got six components from principle component analysis of the operation parameters and secondary effluent quality. 91.8% of the total variance was explained by the six components. The components were identified in the following order : 1) organic matter removal by aeration basin microbe, 2) settleability on secondary clarifier load, 3) removal of nutrients, 4) microbial number increasement and species diversity, 5) microbial activity in aeration basin, 6) oxidation in aeration basin.

        대구시 산업단지 환경기초시설의 악취발생 특성

        Objectives: This study evaluated the odor emission characteristics from fundamental environmental facilitiesat an industrial complex area in Daegu City. Methods: The odor samples were collected from May 2015 to January 2016 and were analyzed for specifiedoffensive odor substances. The odor quotient and the odor contribution was calculated. Results: Ammonia was detected in all samples monitoring specified odor compounds, followed by hydrogensulfide and acetaldehyde. According to contribution analysis, hydrogen sulfide shows the highest contribution inall facilities. At wastewater treatment plants A and B and sewage treatment plant F, it was followed byacetaldehyde. At wastewater treatment plant C, it was followed by imethyl sulfide. Conclusion: The major component of odor can be determined by evaluating the degree of contribution to theodor intensity rather than the concentration of the individual odor components. To increase the effectiveness ofodor reduction, policies focused on materials with a high odor contribution are needed rather than focusing onhigh-concentration odor compounds.

        $A_2O$ 공법 처리장의 Bioindicator

        The occurrence and abundance of protozoa at advanced wastewater treatment plant were compared with operating parameters and effluent quality using statistical procedures. In correlation analysis between the distribution of protozoa and operating parameters, the distribution of protozoa was showed the operating condition of plant. Regression analysis between the distribution of protozoa and effluent quality up to 7 days, showed the R-square values of most regression equation were more than 0.6 and constant was higher than slope and could indicate effluent quality from sampling day to 7 days. Once enough data concerning protozoa, operating parameters and effluent has been gathered, the operator has a valuable tool for predicting plant performance and near-future effluent quality based on microscopic examination. Plant operator manipulates operating conditions if he knows near-future data of effluent is deteriorating. Perhaps more importantly it can be used to actually control the plant to adjust the operating conditions to obtain the protozoal populations that have been shown to provide the best effluent quality.

        대구지역 가로수잎의 중금속

        This study was conducted to determine the contents of heavy metals in leaves of roadside trees according to different growth stages in Daegu city. The orders of heavy metal contents in leaves of roadside tree and soil were Fe〉Mn〉Zn〉Pb〉Cu〉Cr〉Cd and Fe〉Mn〉Zn〉Cu〉Pb〉Cr〉Cd, respectively. The contents of heavy metals in leaves of roadside trees and soil showed an increasing tendency as the levels of traffic volume increased. The contents of heavy metals in leaves on October were higher than those on May.
