Nickel based Ni-Cr-(Ti,Nb,Fe)Super-alloy has been used in gas turbine and valve spring because of its low thermal expansion ratio, corrosion resistance, and high creep strength properties. Likewise other super-alloys composed of Ni-Cr-(Ti,Nb,Fe) have been imported to advance domestic manufacturing technology in the field of ingot making and ingot’s break down. In this project, the overall manufacturing process has been successfully performed, and the appraisal on nickel based Ni-Cr-(Ti,Nb,Fe)Super-alloy forged bar has been also carried out in the analysis of microstructure and mechanical properties with heat treatment.

A study of appling solar assisted heat pump heating system to Korean climatic charac-teritics has been undertaken through computer simulation using TRNSYS (A Transient System Simulation Program). It is insufficient for heating system composed of each of solar and heat pump system to supply heat met with heating load. So SAHP (Solar Assisted Heat Pump) heating systems which combined solar system with heat pump system are analized using the standard weather data of Korea. And SAHP heating systems are categorized into the series system in which the solar storage is used as the source for the heat pump, the parallel system in which ambient air is used as the source for the heat pump, and the dual source system in which the storage or ambient is used as the source depending on which source yields the lowest work input. These combined system are better than each of solar and heat pump heating system in view of thermal performance, and parallel system is most effective among these combined systems.

Background: Type 2 diabetes is a heterogeneous disease. As to its complications, microangiopathy predominantly develop in some patients while macroangiopathy is more predominant in others. Therefore, this study was performed to identify the factors associated with such dissociation. Methods: Type 2 diabetic patients were classified into the macro and microangiopathy groups by carotid intima-medial thickness (IMT) and the presence of severe diabetic retinopathy. Patients with IMT ≤ 0.83 mm and severe NPDR or PDR were assigned to microangiopathy group; those with IMT 0.84 mm and no diabetic retinopathy were assigned to macroangiopathy group. Of 95 patients studied, 14 were classified as microangiopathy group and 20 as macroangiopathy group. Results: When the microangiopathy and macroangiopathy groups were compared, the microangiopathy group were significantly younger at the time of examination and at the onset of diabetes, and had longer duration of diabetes. Percentage of patients receiving insulin treatment was significantly higher and plasma C-peptide significantly lower in the microangiopathy group. However, HDL-cholesterol levels were significantly lower in the macroangiopathy group. Furthermore, the multiple logistic regression analyses revealed that younger onset of type 2 diabetes was an independent factor that was associated with the acceleration of microangiopathy. Conclusion: This study suggests that the age at onset of diabetes is an important independent risk factor that is associated with predominant development of microangiopathy in type 2 diabetic patients.
